Bottom line: They lied about the extended warranty and robbed me of $500! This dealership only cares about money and not about cultivating trust. I have told friends and coworkers who are car shopping abo robbed me of $500! This dealership only cares about money and not about cultivating trust. I have told friends and coworkers who are car shopping about our experience and they avoided this dealership. I lost $500 but this dealership lost future customers and loyalty. Full story below. On September 3, 2021, my wife and I stopped by Tim Dahle Nissan in Murray to look at a Nissan Rogue. We liked the features of the car and decided to go ahead with the purchase. We started the paperwork process with Tyler Flandro and notified him that our budget was 36k with a max of 37k. The car was priced for $32,687 so, with taxes, doc and registration fees, we felt we would be within budget. We also wanted to take advantage of the labor day weekend special that Nissan was holding that time which offered a .9% APR for 5 years on new cars. We had a credit score above 750 which qualified us for the special but, for some reason, Tyler and his manager (who's name I've forgotten and who was working behind the scenes so we didn't get to interact with him) would not give it to us. Instead, they kept pushing us for 2.9% APR for 7 years and would not budge. The negotiating process went for 3 hours and, since they did not want to honor the special, we decided to leave. Once we were out the door, Tyler's manager chased after us and stopped us and asked what conditions we wanted to purchase the car. We informed him of the special and he told us that he could make that happen for us. That was an outright lie, when we went back to Tyler's office, Tyler informed us that they couldn't honor the .9% but, instead, the lowest they could go was 1.9% for 5 years. We asked for what the difference was in the total amount we would be paying if we took the 1.9% for 5 years vs the .9% for 5 years and saw that the difference was acceptable. We looked through the new documents to review the fees and noticed an additional $3400 which brought the price of the car up to 39k+. When asked where that came from, Tyler mentioned that it was the extended warranty and that they "NEEDED" to include this for us to get the 1.9% APR. He assured us, however, that this warranty was cancellable anytime and we would get a prorated refund upon cancellation. Doing the math, cancelling the warranty would have brought the total price of the purchase down to our budget. We felt we could find better coverage than this extended warranty elsewhere so we decided to sign the papers with the understanding that we would be able to cancel the extended warranty. The next day, we found out that our insurance offered a special bumper to bumper coverage for 7 years on new cars (and if you are the first owner) for only $7 a month. The extended warranty from Tim Dhale covered the same thing but was $3400 for 120 months (10 yrs). Doing the math, we would be paying $28.33 per month for the extended warranty. We decided to go back to the dealership to cancel the extended warranty. We talked to Tyler and, after 1.5 hours of waiting, his manager came to us and told us that he will not allow the cancellation of our warranty. We told him that Tyler told us that it was cancellable when we signed the papers. His manager replied that they wouldn't be making much money if they cancelled the warranty. He even showed me the bottom half of a contract that we signed that said that cancellations were not allowed. We then told him we want to return the car if they will not honor their word. We decided to return the car but they had the audacity to charge us a rescind fee of $500 for their dishonesty. Later, while reviewing the fine prints, I found that the portion of the contract he showed me was for the limited warranty powertrain coverage and NOT for the extended warranty. The extended warranty explicitly says that cancellations are allowed given a written notice to the dealer and a $50 cancellation fee. We ended up buying a Forester from Mark Miller Subaru and a Tucson from Murdock Hyundai. If you want honesty, go to these dealerships instead. More

Dealership did not disclose the used vehicle was originally purchased out of the country until I flew 800 miles and drove back. They sent me the disclosure document which was PRE DATED ( I have a te originally purchased out of the country until I flew 800 miles and drove back. They sent me the disclosure document which was PRE DATED ( I have a text from the finance guy 4 days later asking me to sign it) after I was home. I signed all the other paperwork at the dealership and prior to my trip. Making it a "grey market vehicle" meaning it has no factory warranty which is normally transferable, all recalls need to be dealt with in Canada and some of the smart app features do not work. I requested from the sales person and the finance person I dealt with to speak with a manager and 6 days later, no response from the manager. More
