I first visited a dealership closer to where I live to purchase a new car. I was looking for something very specific in make, model, and color. The dealership I visited left me with a bad taste in my mout purchase a new car. I was looking for something very specific in make, model, and color. The dealership I visited left me with a bad taste in my mouth because of their mark-up on the price as well as their low offer for my trade-in (I had gotten other offers and knew my car was worth way more than what this shady dealership was offering-- but this review is not about them so I'll move on). I ended up calling Thousand Oaks Toyota driving off the lot of the other dealership. I explained what I was looking for and the salesman who answered, Ric, admitted they did not have the specific car on their lot. However, he said that if I wanted to come in and see if the numbers worked for me, he could guarantee he'd get the car brought up. I pointed out over the phone that I wasn't willing to sign a contract prior to seeing the specific car I would be buying, and he said that was okay and encouraged me to come up. So I did. I drove the 20+ miles north later that evening, and when I got there, though it was a very busy Saturday, Ric helped me right away. I was at the dealership for about two hours that evening, getting my car appraised, getting a quote on the new car, and then coming to agreeable terms for both. In that time, Ric made sure to sit with me and make conversation to ensure any questions I had got answered. I actually met quite a few of the sales staff that night, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I was asked if I wanted water quite a few times, and I was lent a phone charger when I realized my phone had died. I repeated that I was 95% sure I wanted to make the deal but didn't want to sign anything until I had seen the exact car I would be purchasing, just in case it had too many miles on it or didn't feel right when I drove it. They were more than willing to work with me on this, charging my credit card a small ($100) deposit for them to bring the car up. If I purchased the car, that money would go towards the purchase price, but if I decided I didn't want it after all, they would refund it. There was nothing to lose. Less than 24 hours later I got the call that the car had been located and brought to the lot. I drove the 20+ miles back, took a short test drive around the lot, and signed the deal. I am more than willing to drive a longer distance for excellent customer service. More

I just purchased a new 2014 Toyota Highlander this weekend. What an amazing car for an amazing price. My dad has been buying Toyotas from this dealer for years and now I know why. This is the only dealership I know that doesn't feel like a dealership. No pressure to buy at all. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful, and really makes you feel comfortable. Andy and his team did an amazing job finding me the car I wanted for the price I wanted. Best price you can find out of all local dealers. The lease end for my 2011 Prius was coming up: April 1, 2014. I was impressed that Toyota kept track of me and that Mitch was available to help me through the transition. Wow, follow-up customer service! I made an appointment with Mitch in the beginning of March. I had been avoiding making a decision about purchasing or getting a new lease, as I felt unprepared in spite of my research and, though retired from a career in corporate management, as an older single woman I was fed up being seen as a target for unscrupulous sales tactics. So, apprehensive and resistant, I met with Mitch. I was frank with him, saying that my biggest concern was that I would make a poor choice given my budget, and that I would be shoe-horned into a deal that I would regret the moment I drove off the lot. Now, that might show up as an invitation to take advantage of me, but Mitch took it on as an opportunity to educate me on the pros and cons of buying or leasing a car. Over the course of 4 hours (he said he would take all day if necessary to make sure my questions and concerns were addressed satisfactorily) Mitch walked me through the financial intricacies, the car models, the now and future technology, the corporate culture at Toyota, the socioeconomic realities of buying vs leasing, the computer scenarios that demonstrated his recommendations, as well as several joint diversions into the foibles and merits of the human condition. I never felt pressured or deceived, and I did experience that Mitch wanted to put me in the right car at the right price with the right terms. In the end, I freely and confidently signed a lease for a 2014 Corolla sport and I am happy to report the car is proving a great choice for me. More
Ric Saenz was very helpful and straightforward in dealing with me and my wife. The Prius we were looking for was available and when I showed the ad I have from a competing dealer, it was matched.
