I enjoyed working with Matt and his assistance in helping us find a new vehichle. We love our Frestyle and was very sad that we were not going to be able to get that style. Ryan and Joe were wonderful to work with. My wife and I started out trying to work with another dealership in the area and things didn't feel right. It felt like Ryan was just sharing the facts with us and trying to help us make an informed decision. We didn't feel like Ryan was hiding anything from us. We wanted to take advantage of the 2012 rebates and Ryan was very patient with us and helped us find what we were looking for. I would like to rate this dealer based upon the experience I had with Mr. Porter, Cliff Jackson, Kurt Creason, Ryan Balsley, and Dan Fischer. My wife and I would like to thank you for one of the m experience I had with Mr. Porter, Cliff Jackson, Kurt Creason, Ryan Balsley, and Dan Fischer. My wife and I would like to thank you for one of the most enjoyable experiences buying a used vehicle. I pulled on the lot and was looking at trucks, Cliff stopped to answer some questions and I let him know I would get back with him shortly. He was very courteous and answered my questions and let me leave without any hassle. Within a hour, I called him to let him know I would like to drive the truck. Five minutes later we pulled up and the truck had a tag on it and parked out front ready to go. My wife and I drove the truck and came back and let Cliff know that we don't like to negotiate, just give us a good price. Kurt (General Manager) and both Porter Brothers (Owners) were at the dealership on a Saturday afternoon around 4PM. I was very impressed to see they work the same hours as they expect there employees to work. Cliff went to Kurt and let him know my request. Cliff immediately came back and gave me his best price. It was a great price and below market value based on my research. We agreed. My wife had to get home so Ryan in finance had her sign her portion immediately and I finished up with Ryan soon after on my paperwork. Dan Fischer, the other finance manager also stopped in to shake my wife's hand and mind and thank us for our business. We then were able to leave in our new truck, which Cliff had cleaned and ready to go while we were in finance. Once again, thank you Thoroughbred Ford and everyone for a great buying experience. I must say that Ryan is one of the most respectful and pleasent people i have ever met. He made this the best car buying experience ever for us. He was very knowledgeable, and helpful, with NO pressure what-so-ever. I was not really a Ford man, but Ryan has kind of changed that so far. More
I have had 2 experiences with Thoroughbred Ford - neither of them positive. Deceptive service department, and poor quality of work performed. A few years ago, purchased a gift certificate (issued from Th of them positive. Deceptive service department, and poor quality of work performed. A few years ago, purchased a gift certificate (issued from Thoroughbred Ford) at an auction for a car detail. It was pathetic - nowhere NEAR worth the "value" of $100+....I think my 10 yr old could have cleaned the car better. I called the Service Dept. last week asking if I needed to make an appointment for a safety recall on one of our cars. Was told no appointment needed. Asked how long this particular recall service would take - the man knew exactly which one I was referring to. Went in today to the Service Dept., gave Rick my letter from Ford about the recall. He took all of my information, said it wouldn't be more than an hour. After about 30 minutes, he came in and said the crankcase vent tube was rotting and needed to be replaced at a cost of $107. I called our trusted mechanic who has worked our our cars for over 25 years, and he said yes it was possible that it needed to be replaced (80k miles) and $107 sounded reasonable. So I told Rick to go ahead. When the repair was finished and he called me back out to his desk for payment, he commented that the technician said ours was the cleanest (good condition engine) that he had seen in a long time. Yes, we take good care of our cars. I pay the $106.98....THEN Rick proceeds to tell me that the recall parts aren't in, and I'd be getting a letter at a later date when they do have the part. WHAT THE xxxx???? A) they could have told me they didn't have the part last week when I called; and B) RICK SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED!!! So the whole goal was to upsell/find something wrong with the car. Incredibly dishonest, deceptive and unethical. This is EXACTLY why I never take our cars to a dealership for service. And when I do receive the letter saying the recall parts are in, I won't be getting the work done at Thoroughbred. I'll be going to Gary Crossley in Liberty. It'll be worth the drive. More
Mike was a great salesman because he was not pushy. The car I wanted was not available so we decided to order one. Mike went out of his way to show us the same features on other cars.
