Very disappointed in Thoroughbred! My wife and I were casually browsing for a new car when a salesperson showed me a late model used car they had that was similar. He pushed the car hard and talked it up as being a local trade by an owner that was well known to the dealership. The car was low miles, excellent condition and very nice. We left and decided to look around some more and think about it. Ultimately, she decided she really wanted the used car so after some text messages with the salesperson, I agreed to purchase it. I showed up with a check and while waiting for paperwork to complete went out to take a picture of the vehicle and noticed that the paint color on the back bumper was a bit off. I then asked the salesperson for a CarFax report. After several minutes and a discussion with the used car manager, he came back with a CarFax showing that the vehicle was actually a fleet car, had been sold at auction and had also been in an accident and sustained 'minor to moderate' rear-end damage. Needless to say, I didn't purchase the car and I am very disappointed in Thoroughbred Ford and I won't be back. In hindsight, I should have asked immediately for the CarFax but having had experiences over the years with them I trusted the dealership. I don't know if it's since changed or if it's new cars versus used cars but I would definitely not recommend this dealership for used cars! Buyer beware. More

The Service Manager, Kevin Adams, is less then helpful. I started the conversation with the fact we have complained about the transmission in our 2012 Fusion jumping and slipping every time we took the car to Thoroughbred Ford. When I said this to Kevin his statement back was, “Let’s be truthful”. When I told him not to call me a liar, he argued that he did not call me a liar. He wanted to argue semantics. He called me a liar and wanted to argue out in the Service area instead of taking me and my wife back to his office. When In became upset he astated, “you want us to fix your issue acting like you are”. He began the conversation the wrong way by calling me a liar. Very unprofessional!!!! As my wife walked away he stated something that my wife did not hear, but when she asked him to repeat himself he would not. My wife had talked with Jon prior to us talking with Kevin and he was a disrespectful individual. No one would tolerate a person disrespecting their wife. Employees at Thoroughbred Ford need t go to customer service training. Thoroughbred Ford rating would be 0 stars, but I have to do one star. More

We turned around and made a stop at Thoroughbred Ford in Platte City. One of the service writers there tried to close it with no luck. He checked to see if they had someone who could look at it but all their bays were full. So he recommended the service center on Barry Rd. because they had longer hours and made a call to let them know we we coming. (Kudos to Platte City as well!) When we arrived at the Barry Rd. Service Center, Andrew was the one to help us. He came out, assessed the problem (found a couple of broken parts in the track that prevented it from closing) and got it closed. Unfortunately it didn't seal. So he got some collision wrap to seal it off and we were back on the road. Andrew was so helpful and didn't hesitate In trying to remedy our problem. This was customer service at its finest! Kudos to Andrew! More

charged for parts I did not need on Friday, August 4th, 2017, my battery light came on and everything started dinging. A month prior to this I changed the alternator in my van. so be on Friday, August 4th, 2017, my battery light came on and everything started dinging. A month prior to this I changed the alternator in my van. so being we were literally at the light by thoroughbred Ford we drove it in. they said it would be Monday before they looked at it, fine. we got a call a few hours later telling us the alternator was bad. we said are you sure?? we were told it tested at 12 and the range was 13-15. so a few more hours pass and we get a call the van was done. we asked to keep the old alternator ! they said it would be $432 we paid, I promptly took the alternator back to where i purchased it and had it tested, IT PASSED!! I then went to another company to have it tested, IT PASSED AGAIN! upon returning to the dealership I asked for a printout of the test stating the alternator was bad..... uh, we do not do that. In order to appease me, they said we will take out our new alternator and put your old one in for free... oh really!! PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CARS HERE !! The SERVICE DEPT. IS SOOOOO DISHONEST!!! Mind you I am not your average female, I have been fixing cars since I was a kid. I know my way around an engine!! they treated me live I was some dumb housewife that knew nothing. I asked if they tested it while the car was running, if they tested the battery....ect, ect... PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! More
Great! We had a great experience with Thoroughbred Ford about 2 years ago so we went back again just this month. Thoroughbred I would have to say is one of We had a great experience with Thoroughbred Ford about 2 years ago so we went back again just this month. Thoroughbred I would have to say is one of the easiest Ford dealerships to buy/trade a car. Just this month we traded in our 2 year old car for another used car. The sales agent we originally had was not who we worked with on the lot, but he was included in this trade in/purchase. Your first time dealing with the dealership, that Sales agent is assigned to you for life. The agents are accessible and flexible. I found that there is true loyalty with their sales team...they honor and respect each other. Finance group is also very easy to deal with...they were practical and fast. More

Their salesman, Steve Novak met us at the door and asked if he could help. We sat down and he asked what we were looking for, from options to color. He took notes, went to their inventory and found exactly what we wanted. We drove our new SUV home the same afternoon. The entire process was painless and hassle free. More
