I had recently purchased a vehicle and was very thrilled with my salesman and the overall sales experience, but after going back in to ask some questions, I was highly irratated with the treatment of the sa with my salesman and the overall sales experience, but after going back in to ask some questions, I was highly irratated with the treatment of the sales manager, Barry W. This guy seemed to just blow me off when I went up to ask a few questions. My salesman was not in (apparently it was his day off) so I asked to speak with his manager. From the beginning, he seemed like I was just wasting his time with questions, but they were questions that I had for him about financing. He kept telling me to contact my salesman. I explained to him that I wanted to talk to someone in financing and that my salesman was not around when I spoke to Kathleen. He became over bearing and said I should really take it up with my salesman and then walked away. I dont understand how I could have such a great experience a few weeks ago with my salesman and the service staff, but have it all ruined by a over zealous manager named Barry. I think in the future, I will make sure my salesman is there or I will not be back to that dealership More
I went in to look for an Elantra after calling in to gather some information. The salesman Andrew was very knowledgable and was very thorough over the phone about informing me of the different models an gather some information. The salesman Andrew was very knowledgable and was very thorough over the phone about informing me of the different models and options each vehicle had. After speaking to him on the phone, I was invited in for a test drive and free appraisal. I went in during my scheduled appointment and was greated with a pleasant smile and demeanor. Andrew took me though his inventory, describing each difference in vehicle packages and compared options. After selecting a color and style, we took a test drive and came back to the dealership to start negotiations. It was an unbelievable experience to find that what I feared was going to be a long, drawn out grind, was met with a near minutes back and forth discussing the options and costs and I was on my way with my brand new Limited Elantra. I would definitely recommend visiting Thompson Hyundai for your next vehicle purchase. The even went the extra step to setting up all of my tech items in the car, set me up with My Hyundai.com and followed up within a day with questions I had about some of the more involved blue tooth options. Thanks again Steve and Andrew More
Today I brought in my Hyundai for a routine checkup before I go on vacation. Of course I do a little research and it seems that not many were very happy with their experience at this dealership and au before I go on vacation. Of course I do a little research and it seems that not many were very happy with their experience at this dealership and auto body shop. But I'm hard headed and decided to assess the situation myself and boy did I have a very good time. The clerk at the auto body desk, Jason, was very polite and professional. I explained to him what I wanted he understood and within moments I was in the lobby and waiting. Within an hour and a half Jason approached me in the lobby and gave me an update on the situation with my vehicle and since there was little wrong with it he assured me it would be out and ready in 10-15 minutes. Jason was very sincere and professional with ensuring that my time there was not stressful. If I ever need my vehicle serviced this would be the place to go. -Jeremy More
While my vehicle was being worked on at the auto body section of the dealership I decided to go and seek a sales representative to test drive a couple of vehicles. When I arrived there seemed to be a section of the dealership I decided to go and seek a sales representative to test drive a couple of vehicles. When I arrived there seemed to be a meeting in place and then shortly it broke and I was addressed by one rep and asked "How can I help you?" I responded "I would like to test drive some vehicles" He automatically referred me to another associate behind him, not seeming to interested in entertaining a potential customer. Mr. Gibson looked as surprised as I did. I would have of course graded a little bit higher than what I have given now if it wasn't for that particular situation. Anyway on to Mr. Gibson. He took care of me. Not only that, he wasn't pushy or rude because I did not appear to be a potential customer. I test drove the Sonata first and he told me everything I needed to know about the car's features and capabilities. He also opened up a bit and showed a very personable attitude. The drive with the Genesis was great. Loved the car, wish the economy was in better shape. I would have actually bought it. Guys if you like sports I'd definitely go to this guy. I know plenty of military personnel and I'm glad they have specials for the military. Thanks again Mr. Gibson -Jeremy More
I learned quickly that free oil changes do not exist unless you are willing to pay $250 for them to check belts, lights etc and replace an air filter. Then when my car reached 2 years old and 44000 mil unless you are willing to pay $250 for them to check belts, lights etc and replace an air filter. Then when my car reached 2 years old and 44000 miles my transmission started slipping and the key falls out of the ignition while I am driving. I then have a hard time putting the key back in because the igition is on as if the key is in. I took it in for warranty service and was told I had to sign a paper stating I would pay $99.95 if it isn't warranty issue. I was told it could be birds, mice or I could have driven over something. They wouldn't know until they took it apart. I take very good care of my vehicles and I informed them that birds or mice would have nothing to do with my ignition and transmission. I then asked them to put it on a lift and look at it to see if I drove over anything. They still refused unless I agreed to pay $99.95. I was also informed that it was probably my after market key that worked great for 2 years and just started having problems. I purchased my car new from Thompson. Gary stated they may have messed up making the key. Like I said it worked fine for 2 years. I really didn't believe people still treated women as if they have no vehicle sense but these two men shocked me today. Very smug and insulting. I really am leary about leaving my car with them because it seems they will just make something up to say it isn't warranty and I will be stuck with the bill. More
Just like all the other reviews,I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to go to this dealership. They lie and cheat about the service they provide. I bought a 2010 Hyundai Accent and was promised free oil change anyone to go to this dealership. They lie and cheat about the service they provide. I bought a 2010 Hyundai Accent and was promised free oil change for life. Well, when my car reached 15,000 I went in for oil change service, found out from the service guy that I have to pay $250 preventive maintenance in order to get the free oil change, otherwise I will have to pay $26.00 for oil change. It is absolutely ridiculous that they tell you to pay for something that is not necessary. I spoke with the General Manager and he said this is the way they can recoup back the "free oil change" money. It is a joke the way they do business. Most importantly, I found that the service people are not friendly at all and the Managers don't go out of the way to help you once they sold the car to you. I repeat DO NOT GO to this dealer to buy your cars. More
This dealer completely screwed me. They promised me a price and promised to get the car from another dealer. I was supposed to receive the car on a Monday, it did not come in. I was then told I had to pu price and promised to get the car from another dealer. I was supposed to receive the car on a Monday, it did not come in. I was then told I had to put a deposit down by manager, but was told by Mr. Sala everything was O.K. if I did not and my car would be in the next day. The next day I had to call the dealership only to find out that they did not get my car. The manager had raised the already negotiated price by $1,000 and canceled the car transfer. These guys are typical car salesman crooks. The make promises they cannot keep and try everything in the book to get your business. Do not buy from this dealership, they are horrible. Repeat, do not buy from this dealership they are complete liars. I would recommend Heritage Hyundai for anyone in the Baltimore area. More
They play too many games when going to purchase a car. If you like haggling back and forth for hours to get a price, then you'll like the dealer. Otherwise, go elsewhere. Sales person was nice, but deal If you like haggling back and forth for hours to get a price, then you'll like the dealer. Otherwise, go elsewhere. Sales person was nice, but dealing with the manager was another story. Again, go elsewhere. More
I have purchased 4 Hyundai's from this dealer, 3 Sonata's & 1 Azera the people I dealt with are no longer there, so I cannot appraise the dealer for sales. My initial Salesman Jim Harriman still works there & 1 Azera the people I dealt with are no longer there, so I cannot appraise the dealer for sales. Had my Sonata in for 15,00 mile service and complaint of squeal at high speed that goes away with braking. Left the car for a full day. they said it was complete in 4 hours. Picked car up paid $278 for t squeal at high speed that goes away with braking. Left the car for a full day. they said it was complete in 4 hours. Picked car up paid $278 for the service, including alignment for which they could not provide a printout. Drove the car out in less than 30 minutes the squeal was back. They diddn't fix it. They didn't even test drive it to identify the noise. On the second day, got phone calls as they were test driving it, etc. Was not ready at 5 PM, kept for 3rd day. At 8:15 AM the 3rd day got call the car was ready. When I picked up the car they told me a rear rotor had to be turned to eliminate the noise. I drove the car on several errands and then noticed chattering in the brakes at high speed. When I brought it to Davids attention he and the mechanics said it was there when the test drove it, and the other rotors neede to be turned. If I hadn't asked i wouldn't have known. Iwould have just worn down the PAds quicker. The Sonata at 15K miles has bad rotors. The service at Thompson Hyundai isn't service at all. So much for 10yr 100000 mile warranty. This was the second time in 3 visits they could not fix the car. More
