Hopefully my experience can save others from a similar fate. In making the deal ONLINE, I chose to finance a portion of the loan for budgetary reasons. My trade was picked up quickly, and immediately put up for sale. Two weeks later, I received the purchased vehicle, along with paperwork for registration in the State in which I reside. On attempting to license the vehicle, I was told that, in addition to the provided paperwork, I would also need to submit a “Title Tracking Number, “ in order for the State to track the submission of the title to the lien holder. I was also told that the dealer should provide this number, and that without it, the State would not accept the vehicle’s registration, and no license plate could be issued. I left a message for the “person who handles titles,” for Taverna, no response. I contacted the salesperson, who advised that he would pass my request on to the “person who handles shipping,” no response. I called the main number asking to speak to “someone else who might be able to assist me.” The operator advised that she emailed all three previously noted individuals, and asked that I call again if no one responded. No response. After receiving no response, I followed up with her and was transferred to an extension, the voicemail for which stated, “This person is no longer able to receive messages…”. Fortunately, I had the means to pay off the loan, and obtain the title from the lien holder. In the absence of those means, I would have a vehicle which I absolutely could not get a license plate for. If you want to have a national footprint, you should have a foot large enough to fit it!
