I had previously visited a different Mini dealer and had a "so - so" experience. I was happily surprised by the friendliness that was exhibited by all of the people at Mini of Grand Rapids. The car I had requested to test drive was ready when I arrived and was configured (Cooper S with manual transmission)like the car I had designed online, unlike at the other dealer. After my drive, Shaun was extremely helpful by advising me on the possibilities for the options I wanted plus others (like the sunroof) that I might consider. He spent a large amount of time helping me and made me believe that I was his most important customer at that moment. Later, when I had questions about the purchase Shaun always answered them promptly or referred me to someone who could. When I took delivery of my car he spent a considerable amount of time showing me the features and operating controls that could be personalized by me. Kim was also very helpful when I took delivery by explaining the financing options that I had not considered and thereby not only got me a lower monthly payment but also one that made it possible to purchase the extended warranty. She, too, was friendly and engaging, and if it were not for the financial aspects, made our interaction seem like a pleasant conversation between new acquaintances. I really struggled with the color choice for my Mini. I KNEW I wanted this Mini. I just couldn't choose the color. After ordering the Light Coffee I panic'd... asked Shaun to change to White. "No problem." KNEW I wanted this Mini. I just couldn't choose the color. After ordering the Light Coffee I panic'd... asked Shaun to change to White. "No problem." Then panic'd again. Asked Shaun to change to Red. "No problem." Then... decided I was being silly and the original Light Coffee was PERFECT for me. Not red or white, like friends and family liked, but perfect for me. "No problem" once again. Shaun & his boss could have insisted on some sort of change-order fee but they didn't. In fact, they refused. I'm now the very happy owner of my Light Coffee Mini, All4.
