I've purchased 10 new cars in the last 12 years and I've dealt with MANY different types of sales associates/client advisors/dealers but I have to say the easiest purchase to date has been at Sharpe BMW. It’s a good dealership from the owner to the finance manager but what really made it top notch was one particular BMW Client Advisor: Quentin Groce. My wife and I aren’t older folks buying a luxury vehicle and sometimes when we walk into dealerships sales people assume “there’s no way they are serious about buying anything” and thus don’t give you the time of day. Quentin treated us like he was sure we were there to buy from day one. He allowed us to test drive the vehicle on our own after going over all the functions which we HIGHLY appreciated so my wife and I could freely discuss our thoughts while driving. He was even willing to do a second drive along with us if we changed our mind on driving alone. We went through the purchase of a new 2013 X3 M-Sport 35i with him from factory order through to delivery, a period of over a month. At every point along the way he kept us updated, answered all questions and was very professional and knowledgeable. There’s no pressure to buy but rather he informs you of what is available and lets you know the pros AND CONS of options. I appreciate the fact that he tells it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat something to make it sound great when it isn’t since this leads to purchase regret on the ownership side. Most sales people try to make everything sound like you should get it (especially with a brand like BMW that has a lot of hype), which I guess is good for the dealership or car manufacturer in terms of preliminary sales but unhappy buyers don’t return and aren’t brand loyal when they get burned. A lot of sales people don’t get that simple concept but Quentin is an exception. Prior to final delivery Quentin even sent us pictures of the vehicle on the delivery truck as it came in even though we didn’t ask for it. Makes you know he’s just as excited about your vehicle as you are. As car enthusiasts this is an important factor. On delivery day we entered to find our vehicle prepped in the showroom and to my wife’s excitement a huge bow was added for a little extra touch. Before we drove out all our questions were answered and he took his time to run through everything in the vehicle with us and addressed all the last minute concerns. There were other customers there looking for vehicles since it was a Saturday but that didn’t sway him from the finishing the job at hand. Now if the vehicle holds up as it should, BMW’s got another loyal customer thanks to people like Quentin. Keep up the good work! More

As this was my first time buying a car from a dealer, I was a bit nervous! Fortunately, I worked with Dan who was easy to work with, straightforward, and kind. The car was in phenomenal shape besides some was a bit nervous! Fortunately, I worked with Dan who was easy to work with, straightforward, and kind. The car was in phenomenal shape besides some strange residue in the rear seats. So I refused to sign anything until they cleaned it. They called a leather expert and really made sure that I was content with the car. Unfortunately, it took awhile to close the deal due to some computer glitches and other things outside of Dan's control. No biggie, the manager let me pick something out of their shop due to the wait, they ordered pizza during lunch, and I drove home satisfied. Did I mention the car is amazing? More
I just picked up my Range Rover from being serviced by Sharpe Land Rover of Grand Rapids. I am always a skeptic when picking up a vehicle after being serviced; never knowing what to expect. Did the service team get to the root cause of the issue which I needed service for? Was it fixed properly if at all? Will I get charged more than expected for less work than expected? This was my first experience with Sharpe Land Rover of Grand Rapids. When I brought in my Range Rover for service I was greeted by Dave Wodarski. I was impressed with his friendly professional demeanor. Dave was focused, attentive, and inquisitive about understanding the issues which brought me to this clean, efficiently and professionally run service department. Once Dave Wodarski confirmed he understood my concerns I was off in a clean courtesy vehicle without delay. As promised Dave called back after his service team did a complete diagnostics and quality inspection of my vehicle. He intelligently explained his finding in a meaningful way which I could understand. We agreed on a price, items to be serviced and he set expectations for completion. Hah, sure this will happen, the cynic in me thought after I hung up with Dave. So I must share what did happen. Mr. Wodarski called me back alright; a day ahead of schedule stating my vehicle was ready. Upon my arrival, Dave kindly greeted me and reviewed the service work which was performed. Dave Wodarski and his expert service team completed all expected repairs as well as fine turning my Range Rover for optimum performance and performed some preventative maintenance. The bill was as agreed upon. My Rover looked brand new; washed and vacuumed waiting for me inside a clean heated service center. I recommend Land Rover owners visit Mr. Dave Wodarski at Sharpe Land Rover of Grand Rapids for a kind, respectful service experience for your Land Rover. I would also encourage you to stop by to ask Dave to perform a free preventative maintenance diagnostic of your Rover. We go to the dentist twice a year for prevention and cleaning, why not do the same for the vehicle protecting us and our loved ones. He is very knowledgeable and all the information he provided let me know this was the right car for me. I am very happy with my purchase. I asked Shaun if my MINI could get tinted windows, not only did he make it happen in the limited time I had, but He went out of this way to look up the regulations in D.C. I scheduled my MINI convertible for some warranty work as well as a full detailing (inside and out). While the work took a little longer than I expected, I wasn't bothered by it since I was given a brand ne well as a full detailing (inside and out). I was impressed with the quality of my BMW but it was the rapport with the sales associate that put it over the top for me. I was thorough in visiting nearly every dealership on 28th street. Although there were other vehicles that were possibilities, I felt the sales people and managers of these dealerships were heavy handed. With Quentin, there was no pressure and thanks to him, my purchase experience was pleasant as well as rewarding. Let me start by saying that I am a small business owner that deals in luxury items, so I am familiar with salesmen and how a customer should be treated. I am also a frequent care leaser who never holds a car for longer then 2 years. So far, I have stuck with Japanese luxury brands like Lexus and Acura. But after seeing the CNBC documentary on BMW, I decided to stop into Sharpe and look at the 535xi. Having a TON of experience in leasing vehicles and trying them out, I feel like I am very qualified to speak on the sales process from a customer's point of view. Quentin took a ton of time with me to go over the advantages of BMW over my Lexus GS and he had a very strong love of the brand, which I appreciated. The dealership did not have the exact color combination I was interested in, so they let me take home the closest model overnight to see if I would like it and what my family would think. While I was deciding they looked all over the country to find the combination I was most interested in. The sales manager Brian got involved and worked with me on my trade in and on the car they had in stock, so that I felt I got an awesome deal! I would recommend buying from Sharpe for anyone looking for a luxury car. I would also recommend asking for Quentin, he will take the time to find the right car for you and is passionate about the product! Scott More
Like all car dealers, I bring my car in for one thing and they want me to fix 3 other things, that I didn't even know were broken. I will not be taking my Mini there again. I have only had the oil chan they want me to fix 3 other things, that I didn't even know were broken. I will not be taking my Mini there again. I have only had the oil changed by Mini dealers and they broke the oil plug and charged me for it. What kind of service is that? I do not think it is fair to take advantage of someone, but all car dealerships seem to. The repairs they suggest are all very costly and they make them ALL seem very dire. My car is hardly driven and without very many miles on it, yet you would think from these estimates it was hard driven and very old. I get it, cars break and need to be repaired, but if I bring it in for a simple oil change or a very specific one off repair, I do not want you to tell me it has XYZ wrong with it. You can shove your scare tactics. I also say this because the the two main car dealers I have purchased new cars from have both done the same thing. I bring in the car for a repair and with 6 days the car is having another issue it needs repaired immediately. I do not think these are coincidences and I wish I could say I knew a car dealer I could trust. More
