Even though it's a little bit of a drive I thought I'd head over and see it. My research told me the car I wanted had been on the lot more than 175 days. I figure I'm in luck. They want to move it and they're willing to eat a loss to get it off the lot. When I get there the car has a big SOLD sticker in the window. Darn it. I figure the odds of that are low but all cars eventually sell, and it was attractively priced. Maybe I was a day or two late. I tell the sales guy I'd had my eye on that specific make and model (without telling him I'd researched this specific car online). Funny thing - suddenly it's not quite as sold. It's just got a deposit on it. And they haven't heard from that guy in a few days. And would I like to test drive it? Sure. So I test drive it while they try and get Mr. Deposit on the horn to see what he's going to do. Red Flag 1: If you have earnest money down on a vehicle, do you want the dealer letting people test drive it? After the test drive, red flags #2 and #3 pop up. Red Flag #2: The dealership has not reached Mr. Deposit. They make it clear that they really don't care about his deposit anymore. They will sell the car out from under that guy here and now. They want to talk price. This isn't an honest business practice. Red Flag #3: I know the asking price they have advertised online. But I ask the sales guy what his asking price is. He quotes a number $4,000 higher. This is when I let him know that I've scoped this particular car and that I know exactly what their advertised price is. I've just caught him in a $4,000 lie. He pretends it's an amazing deal that is so new he didn't even know about it. Also a lie. With my misgivings growing, I sit down to talk price with them. They won't budge on the sticker price. OK fine. I even tell them I'll finance through them so they make a little extra on the deal, but I need to walk away unscathed on my trade. They lowball the trade offer by thousands. That's when I walk away. I go eat lunch, hit a couple other dealers that don't have any cars that excite me. I decide to make one last shot at this car because it has a very particular combination of features that's hard to find. I offer my highest and best. I'll pay their sticker if they'll come up to a fair market value on my trade. That's when... Red Flag #4: The "buyer" rematerializes. Suddenly, the car I could have bought an hour ago is not for sale to me at any price. But why don't I come in and look at their hundreds of other cars on the lot? Only two scenarios are possible: 1. They actually had a buyer and a deposit for this vehicle, and they were unethically shopping it to me. That's shady at best. or... 2. There was never a deposit or a buyer, just a classic bait and switch. They throw an unbelievable price out there for the online comparison shoppers, something to get them on the lot to see if the deal is really that good. And it is, if you're willing to pay their sticker price and then let them kill you on the trade. If you don't roll over, they pull that option away by pretending they sold it just now and try to steer you into something else that is more profitable. Either way, it's shady dealer nonsense. I ended up buying at another dealership the same day with considerably less baloney involved. More
This is an edit from from my last post. In fact, it is such a dramatic reversal of events, that I deleted the post and chose to write one more appropriate to the situation. I will spare you the details, such a dramatic reversal of events, that I deleted the post and chose to write one more appropriate to the situation. I will spare you the details, but suffice to say, the dealership stepped up and stepped up big time. They changed a negative feeling & experience into a dramatically positive one. The bottom line? I would deal with this dealership again. I will refer my friends to Frank and I would, without hesitation, recommend The Diamond Auto Group to anyone searching for a GM vehicle. Especially a Cadillac. Well done Diamond team, well done. -James Alexander More

He could not do enough for me to ensure that my experienced with Diamond Auto Group was as pleasing and easy as possible. No pressure sale, allowed myself and wife to inspect the truck and test drive it as much as I wanted to ensure that the truck was what I was looking for. The day I picked the truck up I purchased a set of fender well inserts and he made arrangements to have them installed for me. As it turned out the truck was exactly what I was looking for and I enjoy it very much. Fran is one of the best car salesman that I have done business with. Derek DiFederico was the financial person that handled the paperwork, I should mention that I live in New York and that made Derek's job much more challenging. He had to deal with NYSDMV, NY state tax, my insurance company and a few other issues. He went far out of his way to ensure that all of the paperwork was complete and error free. He explained everything to me and my wife and made sure that we had no questions and fully understood what was going on. If I did not live in New York I surely would be a customer of yours for service but as it turned out you are two and one half hours from my house, just a little to far for service. You can be sure if I know of anyone looking to buy a new or used vehicle I will end them your way. Once again thank you, Frank Day More

A salesman named Michael Deppe let me test drove in one…. We negotiated and agreed on the price upon an invoice of a 2012 SRX AWD. When I was asked to pick the one with the interior that I like, it turned out the one that I picked was a FWD. The salesman did not say anything nor even adjusted the price to the FWD which is $2500 less than the AWD. When I spoked to the salesman about this matter, he promised me this promised me that but none was delivered. The worse part is, he will pick up his cell phone in a heartbeat before the contract is signed, when the problem occurred, you can never reach him through his cell phone. When I asked to speak to the General Manager about the problem, he transferred me to the owner's wife named Lisa. After the salesman told her what I was complaining about, she said she was gonna go pull the deal from the computer and NEVER COME BACK. She had someone else deal with me. I asked them to give me some accessories instead to make up for the difference and all the owner can give me is a stupid pitiful "discounted price on parts and labor". He said that was not his fault when clearly his salesman give me the FWD with the AWD's price. They kept on trying to convince me to trade my car for the AWD so they can take advantage of me again. THEY ARE JUST THIEVES WHO ROB PEOPLE'S HARD EARNED MONEY LEGALLY! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF ALL THE TROUBLES AND GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP! More
