I will not have my van serviced from VW again nor will I buy another VW. This is the 2nd time in 6 years. More
Thumbs Down Go to Autobarn VW if you want a service department that does not stand by their product. A product that deteriorates after 5 years… I own a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan which ran great for the first 5 years and then took a huge nosedive to the point where I will never buy another VW. They just simply have too many expensive things go wrong about every 4 months. After today, I will never buy another car from Autobarn dealers and recommend that you think long and hard about if you want to deal with their service department should you intend to keep a car awhile. I bought my Tiguan new at City VW which is now Autobarn. All service has been completed, per the recommended schedule, at Autobarn. Even with keeping up with their service schedule, in the last 10 months I have sunk $4,350 into my car: Aug 2015 – replaced both fan blades fixed for $1,540. Oct 2015 – Intake manifold went out and this was covered by VW who extended the warranty to 10 years as it is a known recurring issue in my type of engine Feb 2016 - oil leak/replaced crank seal fixed for $2,209 (BTW, the dealer had my car for 3 days to fix this issue) June 2016 – sluggish acceleration and misfiring NOT fixed for a cool $601 Let me explain today’s issue (June 2016) and why I will never do business with Autobarn again: After paying $601, I drove about 1 mile from the dealership and noticed the issue that was supposedly fixed was still occurring. I drove another mile to see if it would perhaps fix itself (wishful thinking). It didn’t and the issue was clearly not solved by the $601 worth of work. Very annoyed and angry I arrive back at Autobarn with my Father. One guy attempted to help us but clearly needed to escalate to a Manager. He was trying best he could and did a good job but we needed a higher level. I ask for a Manager who I can see sitting in an office about 30 feet from our situation. He is willfully and intentionally trying to ignore us (way to have your employee’s back, BTW!). Anyway, he peels himself from his chair and up walks Jon Gomes. From the very moment Jon opens his mouth he is defensive and flippant about the whole situation. Jon clearly was thinking how dare we be mad that Autobarn didn’t fix my car after spending $601. Instead of apologizing, which only the first employee who helped us did, Jon tells us that he will have a tech run the diagnostic to see what is wrong. Um, funny, because I just paid $140 today for a diagnostic report!!! From that report I was told that I needed new spark plugs and ignition coils. Jon tells me that it’s probably something else that is causing the problem and is clearly annoyed when we respond ‘no kidding!!’. I state that I just paid $601 for something which I probably didn’t need and didn’t fix the issue. I state that they need to make this right and fix the issue at no further cost to me to which Jon responds ‘Call Volkswagen’. I tell him he needs to stand by his product and he states that he didn’t cause the car to break. No, Jon himself did not cause the car to break in the first place BUT he did allow me to leave with a still broken and unsafe car. Where is the ownership of issues here from Autobarn?? We remind him that he works for Volkswagen and he says he works for Autobarn. Way to own the brand and product that your company sells and services!!! Jon then starts back peddling saying that the work done probably needed to be done but something else also needs be done. I remind him that nothing has changed with the performance of the car. It is acting just like it did when I dropped it off in the morning. Jon then offers to take the coils out and put the old ones in and that he would happily refund my money with that scenario. I told him that was the most asinine idea I have heard and that again he should stand behind his product as the service manager. Anyway, as it was unsafe, I left my car for them to guess what is wrong and likely charge me an exorbitant amount of money to potentially fix. I can’t recall such a horrible customer experience. This is not a place where I am buying a $15 toy or a fast food meal. This is an establishment that has received $40 plus thousand of my hard earned money related to this vehicle (over $4k in the last 10 months for service alone). So folks, if you want superior customer service from a dealer service department, you are not going to find it here. Additionally, if you want to sink loads of money into a 6/7-year-old car, I suggest you buy a VW. More
Vehicle damage while on recall service I took my new 2015 GTI for an oil change and while there I was told there is a recall for something on the real spoiler. I said yes, go ahead and do i I took my new 2015 GTI for an oil change and while there I was told there is a recall for something on the real spoiler. I said yes, go ahead and do it. Later on they called me that my car is ready. I went there to pick it up, the car was already outside. I checked the rear spolers, just to find that the right spoiler was broken and they tried to fix it poorly and there was also damage on the top spoiler. They tried to hide the damage and I guess they were hoping that I wont notice and get away with it after I would have left the dealer. I raised xxxx and called the service manager who pretended like he did not know about the damage. I told them to fix my car and dont give me any stories, cuz it was obvious that whoever tried to do the recall fix had no idea what he was doing. I mean we can all make mistakes and xxxx happens, but at least be honest about it, admit that you messed up and try to please the customer. That was my third car I bought from them and they just dont care. On top of that, nobody came to apologize or even call me to apologize. I sent emails to the service manager, general manager and the regional manager and nobody responded to my email complaints. Nobody. The car was fixed with brand new part and returned to me after a week. Because of these dealers I'll be forced to go to another german car vendor in the future. VW of Countryside FAILED big time. Kudos to some of the people that work there and treat me with respect every time I visit. Marek and Josh. More

Very sad that they said one thing and did another. I will take my buisness elsewhere. More

I’ve made appointments to replace my front and back brakes and both times the service department ignored the timeframe to complete the appointment. During my last visit, I waited 5 hours to have my back brakes completed. My appointment was at 11:15am and I was told my car would be completed within two hours. At 2:15pm, no one has even acknowledged my appointment. I waited an additional two hours for the work to be completed. This has happened to me twice. More
4 years old car brought in for repairs-negligence and not ac We bought the brand new VW ROutan in April 2010. We took it back to the same dealership for every service, maintenance, oil change, brakes and brake We bought the brand new VW ROutan in April 2010. We took it back to the same dealership for every service, maintenance, oil change, brakes and brake fluids, purchase of battery, tires and tires rotations, coolant line repairs. During winter, coolant line broke-we repaired, paid $50.00. During summer hot days, in April, we realized that AC is not working. Took it to the dealership for diagnostic-I paid $200.00 and they replenished the Freon and put dye in for any future problems/troubleshooting. In May, same problem, took it back, they put more Freon in, and 6told us to bring it back for more checking/repairs. In June, we took it, they found the problem, back AC system-line broken-we agreed on repairs for $530.00. They called me, that, when they tried to open to replace the line, the fitting broke from the other line and for replacement, to pay extra $400.00 . I told them they weren't careful enough and I won't pay for their negligence. The best I can pay for the part, but not for the labor. I talked to Dan, Service Manager and Dealership manager, we did not reach an agreement, I was treated poorly as a customer, not valued for the 4 years of continuous business I gave them, I trusted them with my car for my family with 4 children. I will go tonight to hopefully resolve the problem, amicably, I will report to Best Business Bureau and hope we'll reach an agreement. More
Hello George. I am not sure you remember but I was in a few weeks ago regarding my 2006 Touraeg. I had the vehicle in for service regarding an issue with water getting under the floor board and then shortcircuiting the electrical system. The vehicle was locked in park because of a braking sensor. The repair cost $1,024.79. When I picked up the vehicle the tires were low on air. I asked why a vehicle would be allowed to leave service with tires that were essentially flat. I received an answer that the tech must not have checked that. It seems that this is just an excuse. There was less than 10 PSI in each of the tires. I was talking to the shop technician (Jose?) and he asked how many miles I had on the vehicle. I told him appx 139K. He asked if I had the timing belt replaced because it should have been done close to 100K. I told him that I had not and he advised that I speak with your department to get an idea of how much it will cost and to schedule it. I asked for a quote when I was there and could not get a firm answer. I called the following Tuesday and spoke with someone in service and they would price it up and get back to me. NO return call. I left a voice mail on your line and never received a return call. What kind of service are you guys offering here? I am a service contractor and believe me, if I pulled this garbage we would not be in business. I will never recommend anyone to your company. More
Horrible to work with. Does not "listen" to what the customer has to say. Pretends to consult the technicians and other management. Waste of time to even deal with. what the customer has to say. Pretends to consult the technicians and other management. Waste of time to even deal with. More
I recently brought my 2012 Passat in for a 10,000 mile maintenance service. My service representative was Steve Lagesse. My impression was that my vehicle received excellent maintenance support and Stev maintenance service. My service representative was Steve Lagesse. My impression was that my vehicle received excellent maintenance support and Steve provided me with outstanding service in terms of being friendly, informative and delivering on his commitments. Steve greeted me in a welcoming and friendly manner. I was pleased that my vehicle's maintenance was completed earlier that expected, and Steve took the time to explain the maintenance completed, outcomes and recommended next steps. Also, Steve went above and beyond the call of duty in answering my questions regarding my Passat's climate control. Based on my questions, he gave me a hands on demonstration and instruction within my vehicle of the climate control system, and I came away with a keen understanding of this system. More
I cam into the service center for what I thought was a recall/open campaign. I had no idea what that was until Juan explained everything to me. He did this in such a clear way that I wasn't confused about recall/open campaign. I had no idea what that was until Juan explained everything to me. He did this in such a clear way that I wasn't confused about what was going to happen to my car while I left it at the dealership. He was kind enough to get me a Shuttle to wherever I was supposed to go while my car was being worked n and called me when it was done. When I got back, I noticed that my RPM gauge wasn't working as well; soon after, Juan was back at it working with my car to fix the problem. Again, he explained everything clearly and in such a way that I understood everything. I would definitely go back for more of this kind of service to any dealership, but I will always choose the Autobarn. More
