Tire pressure warning light came on Sat May 26 VW service found screw in right rear tire. Patched and repaired it within an hour. Was covered by warranty when I purchased my tires at VW. No charge. wheel bearing replacement I generally wrench my own cars, but there is that occasion when help is needed. 2011 Outback with a bad rear wheel bearing assembly. After spraying I generally wrench my own cars, but there is that occasion when help is needed. 2011 Outback with a bad rear wheel bearing assembly. After spraying everything the night before I spent 8 hours on a Saturday trying to get the wheel bearing off the knuckle to no avail. I had the car towed to Autobarn Subaru. About an hour after the driver left my house with the car Autobarn called me to let me know it arrived and they had looked at the problem. They let me know that they may have to remove the knuckle if they couldn't get the back half of the assembly off. I knew this and told them to proceed as necessary. Several hours later Dale (service advisor) called and told me that they had managed to get the bearing off and the new one was installed. Unfortunately the test drive revealed a bad front bearing as well. Dale offered for me to come in and verify the condition, I told them to just replace it. This was happening on a Tuesday and Dale asked if they could keep the car until Thursday and soak the assembly all day Wednesday to try and ease removal. I said sure. Well it must have worked because at 9am Thursday morning I got a text that the car was complete. When I picked the car up Dale spent some time talking to me about the repair and difficult nature of wheel bearing replacement that I knew all too well. The car is whisper quiet now, no humming or howling from the wheels. I have always had a good experience at this service department and will continue to use them as needed. More
