Rodney and Richard where both some of the most polite and friendly people I have ever worked with while purchasing a car. The both produced honest andswers and worked with me to make sure that the car I was looking for was the best one for me. They did not push cars that where out side of my price range. The answered questions in a timely manner and if I had other questions they did extensive research and showed me the answers. I was treated with such respect that I could not imagine going to another dealership after this. I would actually wit for them to bring the car I want onto the lot. More
The experience started sour in the beginning. I put a down payment on a vehicle and they sold in by the time I returned to do paperwork. Their service reps have attitudes and so does the receptionist/cas down payment on a vehicle and they sold in by the time I returned to do paperwork. Their service reps have attitudes and so does the receptionist/cashier. I came in for A/C service. It was about $350. The next morning I had to return and the "gaskets were leaking." Well shouldn't they have found that initially in the inspection? I returned for a tune up a few months later. Later that evening my car was misfiring and wanting to stall. "They overlooked something and had to fix it." I returned a few years later and needed a new catalytic converter, crankcase vent pipe, front right axle, new belt, dipstick (which I believe they broke in the first place), and they did a fuel system cleaming (which I wasn't told about). I paid my deductible and the differnece. A few days later, I had to return because my car was flaring during gear changes. I take it in and they tell me I need a new transmission. They call me to pick it up and I show up. It wasn't ready yet. Finally later that afternoon it was ready. I pick it up and the next day it strats flaring again. When I take it in they said I could leave it. So I said only if I get a rental. They told me since I didint have an appointment they could not cover the rental. And I would have to wait until the technician that worked on it had an open appointment. The rep was rude and gave me attitude. When I spoke to a manager, he said he was not legally responsible for anything. I would have to wait until they had an opening because it is safe to drive. I would NEVER go back or recommend any aspect of this dealerdship to anyone! More
I have bought many cars in my lifetime. One of the most fun experiences I had was working with Les Brewer to purchase my Jetta. I wasn't sure that a Jetta was for me, so Les recommended I take a car home fun experiences I had was working with Les Brewer to purchase my Jetta. I wasn't sure that a Jetta was for me, so Les recommended I take a car home and drive it for a day to make sure it was the model for me. Needless to say, I was terrified. It's one thing to drive your own car, it's another to drive a new care from a dealer. Well, it turned out that the test drive for a day was what I needed to convince me that the Jetta was the car for me. When I returned to Les, we discussed cost and again - surprise - the car was definitely in my price range. Later that day, I drove off the lot with my new Jetta and have been driving it ever since. I don't even let my husband drive my car! Oh - and about my husband -- when it came time for him to purchase a new car, he went to see Les, and -- yes -- he also drives a Jetta. He loves how it handles and the MP3 player feature. We are so very satisfied with the experiences we have had, that there's no doubt we'll return to see Les and the guys when it's time to purchase new vehicles. More
Overall this is a "user friendly" dealership. They are attentive to customers without being overbearing, and treat all customers as though they really want their business. Our sales person, Lester Brewer who is a very friendly and genuinely concerned person gave us his undivided attention assisting us in every way possible to make our purchase pleasant. The service staff at and genuinely concerned person gave us his undivided attention assisting us in every way possible to make our purchase pleasant. The service staff at the Autobarn are knowledgeable and next to none who do their best to maintain your vehicle above the standards set forth by VW. I wouldn't consider buying from any other VW dealership. More
This is the best VW store in the Midwest if not the country. Our first experience with the Autobarn came with the lease of our Passat Wagon in ’07. Long time VW enthusiasts, we’d never seen so many new Volkswagens in one place. They had the car we wanted in stock, the sales team was friendly and knowledgeable, and the transaction was timely. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised. However, what’s really endeared me to this dealership is the service we received after the sale. Firas, our salesman, made a point to introduce us to the service department when we bought the car, and when we came for our first oil change we were greeted by name. The free car washes always gave me an excuse to stop by and check out the new inventory. Naturally, when our Passat lease ran out recently, we’d had our eye on a Jetta Sportwagen for some time. Though we’ve relocated to Kansas City, I couldn’t imagine buying a VW anywhere else. Firas and Bogdan had the new car ready to go when I arrived, handling all aspects of the lease return for me. The deal and the experience were well worth the 8 hour drive. More
I am very impressed with this dealership--they were friendly and easy to work with, and I would happily do business with them again. I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. I have had nothing but great experiences at this dealership, so the bad reviews really surprised me. I have purchased 4 cars from them and each time the experience has been painless- I have to s dealership, so the bad reviews really surprised me. I have purchased 4 cars from them and each time the experience has been painless- I have to say that I did have a problem with a Cabriolet that I purchased new from them, I brought the car in for service many times and finally brought it back to them and purchased a different car and surprise surprise... a few days later they called me back to re-do the paperwork because the payments I made for the car I traded in were now being credited back to me and put towards the new car!! The reason for that is because the dealership went to bat for me and contacted Volkswagen credit directly. I have never heard of a dealership doing that EVER! I did not ask them to investigate, they just did it for me on their own- it was a great surprise and I definitely appreciated it. As far as the service department, I have not had any issues, they do the work in a timely manner and are respectful of your needs whether it be time or money. More
Worst experience ever. Went to look at a 2002 beetle. Liked it, was assured it was in good condition. During negotiations, was asked over and over how much I could pay a month, and could not get a straig Liked it, was assured it was in good condition. During negotiations, was asked over and over how much I could pay a month, and could not get a straight answer on the price of the car. I also said I would need an extra key for the car since it only came with one, was told OK, but then after the signed contract, told that I had to pay $250 for the key. Did not get a fair price for my trade-in, not even sure if they applied a credit towards the car. They made the whole process extremely confusing and upsetting. Also was talked into the "preferred plan" so that I could get free carwashes, which I think they're supposed to give you anyways. Realized this was a total rip off and canceled, but it took 4 months for them to cancel it of which I had to pay for the service all 4 months. Also, tried to take it in for my "free" carwash during the plan, and it was either too crowded, or closed, never did get one car wash there. Now the car itself. As soon as it got warmer, found the AC didn't work. Took to my mechanic (don't trust VW at all!) found out that the alternator had to be replaced. $1300. Car was pulling to the right, took it it for that, had to get new brakes, rotors, tires, and tire balance. $1200. Window broke, turbo "fin" that pops out of roof is iffy at best, arm rest broke. Also, once it got warmer noticed water on drivers side floor. Turned out that the drain connecting to the sunroof was disconnected, so the water was just spilling into my ceiling, through the door, and onto (into) the floor. The moldy smell is starting to go away now. So yes I am an idiot, it was my first used car buying experience, but these people will take you for all you're worth. More
