We searched from Green Bay to Fort Wayne for the Jetta Sportwagen we wanted and found one (seemingly hidden) not to far from home in Countryside. The sales process was better then expected. Our first service appointment, new car check up I think it's called, scheduled easily and confirmed by email. Then reminded by email including a link to change the appointment if needed. We arrived on time, greeted well, told Steve about a few sample issues and he told us it would take an hour. It took 56 minutes.. close enough. The waiting area was clean, stocked and while I brought a book I found myself watching the television. The time went quickly. I'll also mention that while I was waiting I spoke with the Parts guy, Brien, as I want a cargo divider installed. Turns out they've been discontinued but Brien said he'd look for one and I've had two update phone calls on the subject (so far). Can't really ask for more then that. The Wagen was delivered back, we went over some details of the work done. I left. More

The online price of the vehicle we purchased was great (we researched using Edmund’s etc.), the trade in value was good, and the financing was lower than our bank’s. We purchased our 2006 Passat at the Autobarn and have always come back there for service. At first this was a matter of convenience because the dealer was located near my place of employment and they we always come back there for service. At first this was a matter of convenience because the dealer was located near my place of employment and they were always happy to drop me off and pick me up at work. For the first few years the service consisted primarily of oil changes and regular maintenance. Although the price was not low, I always had the sense that we were being treated fairly and the staff was always friendly and informative. Because of our good experiences we continued to bring our car back even though I left my former job and it now requires a special trip to bring in the car. Among the things I particularly like is that there is little turnover among the service advisers; we're dealing with the same people we met when we first bought the car. As a result I can call them on the phone, talk to someone I know, and know that they know me and the vehicle. An example of their willingness to go 'above and beyond' occurred just yesterday. My wife was driving the car in downtown Chicago (about 25 miles away from the Autobarn) when the low oil warning message appeared on the dashboard display. She parked the car, called the Autobarn and talked to Steve. As it happens, Steve had a contact who worked close to where my wife had parked the car. Steve called his friend who picked up some oil, met my wife at the car, and added the oil for her. He would not even accept payment for the oil. I can't imagine a better example of going out of the way to help a customer. This kind of attention is typical of our experiences with the service folks at the Autobarn. I would also add that their service waiting area is comfortable, well stocked with complementary coffee and beverages, and also convenient for people who need to work while they wait for their cars. My vehicle was ready in a timely manner and the car was cleaned when I picked it up. I have a VW dealership located 1 mile from my house, but I travelled 50 miles to buy my car at the Autobarn. We priced the car out with Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book and found the price we negotiated very favorable in comparison. I never thought buying a car would be a fun experience...working with Anthony and The Autobarn, it was !! The new car owner orientation was well planned out and fun. The food was very good. Whenever I have questions, I feel comfortable calling them and they all always are helpful and or to direct me to the right place or number to call. I want to start of by saying how amazing Volkswagen Autobarn of Countryside has been to my family and I. The very first new car my family purchased was from the Autobarn, and shortly after that my fath Autobarn of Countryside has been to my family and I. The very first new car my family purchased was from the Autobarn, and shortly after that my father bought me my very first car from the Autobarn the day I got my drivers license. About three months ago I purchased another new Jetta for myself and will continue making purchases from the Autobarn for my future cars. I could not imagine buying a car from any other dealership. To start of with, when you walk in the door the sales guys really make you feel like you are the most important person in the world instead of a dollar sign. In other dealership I feel you get treated like a commissions check instead of a person. The Autobarn makes you feel like you are part of a family instead of being just a customer or just another commission. They greet you with open arms and appreciate your business. Second, all of their staff is very knowledgeable in regards to the cars they sell and service. Any question I have in regards to my Jetta is always answered and explained to me in a matter that anyone can understand. Because lets be realistic not everyone is a mechanic and now everyone knows there car inside and out so it is nice that someone can put it in simple terms. It is also nice to know that once you purchase your car your wonderful experience does not end there. When you return to the dealership you are not forgotten you are always greeted like family and everyone is always excited to see you. They always ask how things are going and remember the little details about your life. I can not begin to express my happiness with this dealership and can not imagine purchasing or servicing my car with any other dealership. You will not be forgotten as a customer because the Autobarn stands behind there cars and will help you with any car issue that you may have. I highly recommend purchasing your car from the autobarn and servicing it there as well, because both the sales and service team are truly amazing that words could not even describe it. I am truly happy and blessed that I decided to join the Autobarn family and the Volkswagen family. More
