My experience in purchasing a new TDI Sportwagon from Liz D. at the Autobarn was truly remarkable, especially when compared to 2-3 other dealerships in the Chicago area that were very frustrating and unprofe D. at the Autobarn was truly remarkable, especially when compared to 2-3 other dealerships in the Chicago area that were very frustrating and unprofessional experiences using the old car sales tactics and lacked followup up and follow through as promised. Since the TDI Sportwagon was a very difficult car to locate based on my desired features and color, I contacted several dealers in the Chicago area and found that the color/features were not available and was told that I needed to wait 3-4 months for the 2013 model year. I was very surprised to receive a call from Liz at the Autobarn who informed me that she had located 2 cars that met my criteria and that she would confirm availabiity and pricing in 1 day. Liz stay true to her word and located a car out of state that Autobarn would trade for and that the delivery would be approx 1 week. Autobarn actually flew a person to pickup the car and drive it back to Chicago in order to expedite delivery for me...truly going out of their way to satisfy my timing needs. Liz was very responsive, followed up when she said she would and kept me informed as to the delivery status of the car and she also negotiated a fair price for the car and extended warranty. She was truly a pleasure to work with and was very professional, friendly, and most importantly very responsive. Even though the Autobarn was not the closest dealer to my home, I would certainly have not issues purchasing another vehicle from the Autobarn. As a sales professional of 25+ years myself, I give Liz and A+ on her sales/customer service skills, as well as her knowledge of her product and the buying process that truly made my experience a very positive experience. Working with her manager and associate Matt who supported her also added to my positive experience in purchasing a car from the Autobarn. Great job Liz and team !!! More

I have never been a fan of the new car purchase / lease process...until now. Matt Lichosyt was very professional and a pleasure to deal with from the initial tire kicking to closing the deal. After working with a dealer locally and negotiating the trade-in value of my previous vehicle and new 2013 Volkswagen CC, I returned a phone call I had received from Matt a couple of weeks earlier after in trade-in value of my previous vehicle and new 2013 Volkswagen CC, I returned a phone call I had received from Matt a couple of weeks earlier after inquiring with Costco about their Auto Buying program. Though I didn't necessarily know what the Costco "pre-negotiated" price would be for the vehicle prior to visiting the dealership, I informed Matt that we could either negotiate the deal absent of the Costco discount or with it, whichever was going to ultimately get the bottom line where I wanted it. I informed Matt where I wanted to be in terms of price, and was very impressed. They offered me substantially more for my trade-in than my local dealership, and were neck and neck with them in terms of the new vehicle's sale price. At the end of the day, the dealer I had previously bought two vehicles from lost the business due to not having the exact vehicle I wanted on their lot (Autobarn had the exact color, trimline, and interior I wanted) and having provided some of the poorest service I've ever experienced at a car dealer (These guys couldn't fix a ham sandwich, let alone a throttle body). I got the deal I wanted, and received professional and courteous treatment from start-to-finish. The follow-up post-sale has been tremendous, and I intend to have my AND my wife's Volkswagen serviced here in the future. The caliber of the service department remains to be seen, but I am hopeful that I will be singing their praises as much as I have the sale side of the transaction. In short - a dealer willing to negotiate, and one that does so in a professional and competent manner. Something that seems to be lost all too often in this business. More

Everyone else seemed completely invested in my happiness while I was there, too--I was offered snacks and drinks more than 10 times, asked if I was being helped while I was alone for a minute, given a tour of the service department, etc. I felt like I had full run of the place, and that they valued my future business in the service department, too.
