Had brought in my car for service not intending to purchase a new car. Found out that the car needed extensive repairs, at a cost that would be unreasonable given the age of the car. Though I was not ready to purchase at that time, they made it possible for me to do so by looking at my needs, desires, etc., finding one which was actually affordable and making it possible to do that rather than putting my money into something that in all likelihood might be a money pit AND undependable. My first visit to this dealer was just to see the new Mazda 3 and I got a very good feeling about the staff. Lewis attended me and he was very nice from the beginning to the end. After that I went to other dealers and I felt that they were more interested in how I was going to pay (I am a non-resident) rather than trying to find the best car for me. For Autobarn Mazda of Evanston that was not an issue, actually they were very flexible with the payment plan according to my personal situation (just arrived from Spain and didn't had all the money ready). I felt really comfortable trying different cars, used and new ones, until I found the one I liked. Lewis was really helpful in that process and always treated me very nicely. He really worked hard to fit the car in my budget and after a couple of hours of negotiation, we agreed on the price and I decided to buy it. I am looking forward to try the maintenance service, if the rest of staff is as half as nice and helpful as Lewis was, I'll love this place. More

Car shopping is always a stressful experience and this was no different. However I believe one has to fight for the best deal and we both gave it our best. Luis was not overbearing and accomodating of our price point and was generally helpful. He's also offered us free car washes for the duration that we own the car which is 'customer delight'. It did come down to haggling a bit for price. But overall experience was skewed towards the buyer since the dealer wanted to close the sale. Did see some issue with the car in terms of a scratch later and the dealer would not take care of that free of cost which is the only pain point. At the end of the day the CX-9 was worth the effort. More

These guys are great! My wife and I just purchased 2 new cars from them – a 2011 CX-9 and a 2011 Mazda3. They gave us exceptional values for our trade-ins (both Mazdas as well) and also gave us the best prices I’ve seen on either of our new cars. I am confident we got the best deals possible at the Autobarn of Evanston. We weren’t even expecting to buy two new cars, but with the trade values and the deals on the new cars, it was too great a deal to pass up. Kissy and Lisa were great! At the time, my wife was 41 weeks (!!) pregnant. After our daughter was born, we even went back with her so Kissy and Lisa could meet her! We have now bought 3 brand new cars from the Autobarn of Evanston – and it’s been a pleasant experience each time. Highly recommended! Thank you, Autobarn! We'll be back! More
I came there with my mother - the car was for her, and on the first visit we came just to test drive the Mazda3, and the second visit we bought the car with Ross Conlon. On both visits Jon Zimmerman was the manager, he was very friendly, polite, professional, personable, and extremely accommodating. The first visit was pretty quick, but on the second visit we took some time to think about the car and the right price. Ross Conlon was also very friendly, polite, professional, personable, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. He did not rush us in any way, he took his time to explain everything - from the financing to walking us through the entire quick-version manual. We were given a tour of the services department and the entire facility was spotless. My mom loves her car, and we would highly recommend our friends to purchase their next car from The Autobarn at Evanston, with Ross and Jon. More

I bought a Mazda3 from this dealer in 2009 and had a very positive experience. They were able to lower my monthly payments and get me into a delightful little car. A few weeks ago (and only about 15000 mil positive experience. They were able to lower my monthly payments and get me into a delightful little car. A few weeks ago (and only about 15000 miles later), I received a phone call from Kissy about their "Pull-ahead" program, which meant that I would get a new car, lower monthly payments, 0% interest, and, oh yeah, A BRAND-NEW CAR. I figured I would hear her out and see if the program made sense for me. I eventually drove away with a 2012 Mazda3 for which I am paying less per month, 0% interest, no money down, and it's real pretty. Lisa and Kissy were both very low-pressure and reasonable throughout the process (that is, I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of or pressured into accepting a deal that I didn't like). I also met the manager, Mike Something, and he was also very pleasant and low-pressure. They let me take the car home for the night and think about it (when it became clear that I wasn't going to make the firm decision to buy during our initial meeting) and I came back the next day to buy it. The only down side of this experience was that there was a lot of waiting involved. I was left alone for 15 mins on the first day while someone went to pull the car around, which was a little weird.... I mean, I was planning on spending some money here, no one could even pull up a chair and shoot the breeze with me while they found someone to go get the car for a test drive? Additionally, a new customer came in while I was sitting there alone on the second day. No one said hello to her or asked her if she needed any help, so I started chatting with her until someone finally came over. It was 11am and no one else was with a customer. Maybe they're working on salary and don't care about making a sale? Finance Man (I forget his name but he was Russian) was very nice, offered plenty of information, and made everything very painless. Kissy came back when all the papers were signed and she helped me move all the crap from my old car into my new one, which was a nice touch. Perhaps in another three years I will get my next car from them as well. More

When going to the finance department, I was greeted warmly and explained all of my options. When I refused the extended warranty the warmness quickly disappeared from the room. Just because I didn't want to buy something extra, when I was already spending so much, shouldn't have changed our exchanges. When I completed the paperwork and returned to work with Kissy, I was once again feeling great about my purchase. She introduced me to the service department and to the sales manager. Then I was shown to my car, which was now sparkling. Kissy continued to show me more features in my new car and made sure I was comfortable driving away in my new car. I would highly recommend The Autobarn Mazda in Evanston and an even higher recommendation for Kissy. More
