My visit went well though I had a hard time finding someone to help me begin shopping for a new vehicle. Noone was in the dealership and then they made me wait for an employee who was out to lunch. Test drive was fine but the salesman was very lackluster and didn't offer much info. A shame since I was excited about Mazdas. The aftermath was not pretty. First they harassed me to no end via phone calls and emails though I specifically told them that I would call if interested. Here's the real problem: they kindly offered to pay for my parking meter while I was in the dealership. When I went to my car, there was a city parking fine because the meter had run out. I took it back to the manager who grimaced and begrudgingly offered to pay for it ($10). But a few weeks later I was surprised to get a notice from the city saying that the ticket wasn't paid for. That's not ethical! More

Over the past 10 years I have visited many dealers to purchase new and used cars. By far this was the best experience buying a car ever in my life! Staff was super friendly,helpful and understanding from Sales Manager Michael Allegretti,my sale's rep Lisa and even including the finance manager Tony who explained each and every question I had and also fought for the best rates with the bank for me. This was a huge plus for me as I always felt in the past that the finance manager was never on my side in past purchases at other dealers. If I were to rate this dealer on a scale from 1-10 I couldn't. It is off the chart! If you want a mazda got to Autobarn Evanston and you will not be disappointed. More

When I couldn't get back to Evanston due to traffic, and I had to work at my theatre, they drove the car to me and traded it out for the Mazda 6. I love this car. It's so fun to drive. Even in the test drive, I knew it was for me. More
Jonathan (Jon) Sammons was simply the best sales consultant I have ever encountered during my 20+ years of buying and leasing automobiles. He was informed, articulate, understanding, professional and exceedingly open and friendly. This provided an absolutely stress-free and actually enjoyable buying experience. Jon provided the most comprehensive presentation of the vehicle's features prior to the test drive and was able to answer every technical question I could ask him. I knew he was truly passionate about a product he personally uses himself. After the test drive, Jon Zimmerman, the dealer's Sale Manager, followed up with me by phone and email to provide information I had requested up-front in order to facilitate and streamline the negotiation of terms and conditions of my lease (which I absolutely prefer in order to limit the amount of time required sitting inside across the desk). When it came to the final purchase price negotiation, both Jon Sammons and Jon Zimmerman were straightforward and reasonable and worked with me to find a fair price that we were all satisfied with. Bottom-line, both Mr. Sammons and Mr. Zimmerman executed what I would consider a very easy and professional car leasing experience. At the close, Jon Sammons personally took the time to run through all the wonderful features of our new 2012 Mazda CX-9 and made sure that my wife and I were completely hooked up with our iPhones and the Bluetooth Hands-Free capabilities that came with the vehicle. It is amazing the technology link today between a car and a smartphone! This dealership did everything well, from the creatively designed interior and progressive open-space of the floor and waiting area, to the way that I and my family were treated with complete respect and courtesy. All of their employees were truly professional, kind and courteous. I look forward to having my expectations continuously met through the life of my lease, and beyond, in forming a long-lasting and loyal relationship with the Autobarn Mazda dealership of Evanston. I never felt that he was trying to "upsell" me; I also felt that Doug, in the F&I department, was very up-front and straightforward. The only reason I'm putting up some "4" ratings rather than "5"s is that, from my research, I'm fairly sure that the Evanston Autobarns charge a bit more than some other dealerships that are further away from the city or in less affluent suburbs. That's ok with me: I was willing to pay a bit more for the convenience of shopping near my home. More
