Lewis was an amazing attentive salesman, he was patient with us buying our first new car ever. We test drove the CX-5 which we ultimately purchased. We drove for four hours and came back a second day. They with us buying our first new car ever. We test drove the CX-5 which we ultimately purchased. We drove for four hours and came back a second day. They were tough but fair in negotiations, and in the end I am happy with the decision my wife and I made. Lewis even offered to educate us on the technical bonuses when we came back from our road trip! They have a great staff and make the process of buying a car very stress free. More
I visited 7 different dealerships in my search for a new pre-owned car. The sales consultants at this dealership were great! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about the advantages of Ma pre-owned car. The sales consultants at this dealership were great! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about the advantages of Mazdas. However, the sales manager at this dealership was the worst of all the dealerships I visited. He insists on speaking to all potential customers before they leave. He was very pushy and rude-- definitely a stereotypical used car salesman. When he first met me he made a sexual joke to throw me off guard, then he kept insisting that I buy a different car than the one I came in for that day. All this in spite of the fact that I’d made it clear when I came in that I was just test driving and I wasn’t ready to buy yet. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders once I left this dealership since there was so much pressure on me to buy a car when I was inside, and I was proud of myself for managing to escape without buying a car. In the end, I decided to get a Honda, and I drove to a dealer about an hour away from where I live where the sales people were much less pushy and I felt more comfortable. More
My car was damaged between me test driving it and leaving with the car. The left rear was scraped. Management would not even return our calls or respond to our letters; would not even admit possibility of with the car. The left rear was scraped. I had been to several dealerships around the Chicago area. I had very bad experiences with sales representatives trying to sell me cars I was not interested in, place me on a payment plan for a more exp area. I had very bad experiences with sales representatives trying to sell me cars I was not interested in, place me on a payment plan for a more expensive car, or pressure me into a decision on the spot. Autobarn Mazda was different from the rest. My sales representative, Lewis, was very professional, polite, and courteous. He understood what we were looking for and did not waste our time by trying to sell us something else. I ended up purchasing a Mazda3 from them and they made the process very easy. I would highly recommend Autobarn Mazda to those interested in purchasing a new or used Mazda. I will definitely be purchasing another car from them in the future. More

This dealership claims to be different than others but it is not. I have two friends who were also not satisfied with their experience. They claim not to work on commission but instead volume, the difference is not. I have two friends who were also not satisfied with their experience. They claim not to work on commission but instead volume, the difference being the salesmen don't receive more commission for higher priced cars. A slight difference in my opinion and when it came to negotiating, they sure seemed to care about price. They also sold me a certified used warranty on a car they kept saying with new. When I asked them to clarify this they said the car hadn't been titled but since it was a loaner and had 7200 miles it was considered used even though I would be the first owner. Oh, and in addition to selling me a warranty for a used car, they tried to get me to pay for the delivery charges the manufacturer charges for new cars. Is it a new car or not, I still don't know. I later realized I didn't need/want the warranty and they claimed they couldn't refund my money, but I have no idea why not. Anyways, I guess I should have known better and just not gotten the warranty, and I know dealers have to make some money, but I have no respect for people that take advantage of other people and sell them products they don't need and shouldn't pay for. A very bad experience and I would recommend going somewhere else, even if it means driving further from Chicago. More
By far the best dealership I have been to. Extremely nice, 'real' and easy to work with employees that are not looking to rip you off or lie to you. I came prepared with quotes and information and was a nice, 'real' and easy to work with employees that are not looking to rip you off or lie to you. I came prepared with quotes and information and was able to have a hassle free trade in, buying, and financing experience all around. I was not given any run arounds and was not given false information. Ross was a real sport and explained everything throughly and answered all my questions with respect and understanding. He even offered to go for a ride with me AFTER I already bought the car to show me some tips with the manual transmission car I had bought with his assistance. Special thanks goes out to Tony from finance who was also very pleasant and professional. It was a great experience from start to finish and would highly recommend Autobarn Mazda of Evanston to friends and family and you bet I'll be a returning customer myself. Thank you very much Tony and Ross!!!!! More

We are from Milwaukee, and we were searching, and researching for a used vehicle that would be safe, clean, and reliable. The Autobarn of Evanston came across our radar with the help of Car Guru.com. researching for a used vehicle that would be safe, clean, and reliable. The Autobarn of Evanston came across our radar with the help of Car Guru.com..........I don't know why one particular vehcile stood out, or even why I became focused on a particular make, model and year, other than it would accomodate our budget, and the newer the better. We really needed a vehicle since our car of 10+ years began giving us alot of trouble right in the middle of winter. We made the decision to call, and made an appointment with Lisa who just so happens to be the sister of Kissy who also assisted us. We rented a car and drove down to Evanston, and we were warmly welcomed. Lisa took charge. We explained we had an elderly mom, who is in independent living, but we had our obligations to see to her needs, as most of folks have when our parents can't do everything themselves anymore, and driving is one. Whether its going to the doctor, dentist, grocery shopping, emergencies, and whatever else might come up, we needed a dependable vehicle, and a new one at this time wasn't possible............. She took to our concerns, and showed us a vehicle we might just be interested in?, other than the one we saw on line. I told her it can be kind of scary buying a used car due to the unknowns?...........Thanks to her knowledge, and her experience she had us convinced that we could hardly go wrong with it since the mileage was low, and it was a solid built car, a coupe with 4 doors........Without question the vehicle looked as if had been taken very good care of. It was 3 years older, but its overall condition couldn't be beat. I realized that its rare to buy a used vehilce and not have to do a few things to it. Some things we should!........change all the fluids, change tires if needed?, and check out the brakes is a good start. We were also given a car fax, and the vehicle had never ever been in an accident of any kind. This was a real big plus............Lisa was right!!. We have now done all the things we needed to do, replaced 2 rear tires that matched up with the 2 new ones on the front. Having done this there is virtually no road noise. The ABS brakes all the way around probably saved us from a goofy driver that pulled out in front of us one day on a county road when we were traveling 45mph..........the brakes worked perfectly, and stopped us within a couple feet.......not my heart but these saved us imo from what could have been a bad accident. My older car didn't have them, and I doubt we could have stopped without skidding. We just love the vehicle. We have had some extras done which makes it even more enjoyable, but if it wouldn't have been for the help of Lisa, and with Kissy telling us pretty much the same thing we could have gone in another direction, thank goodness I trusted, and listened to her, as well as her sister. We called a few weeks later, and spoke with Mr.Fisher the owner, and explained one issue with the car, and he was more accomodating, very very nice man........Mike followed through with his phone call, and he in turn called us..........and the issue was resolved. Mind you when we purchased the vehicle it was freezing out, which doesn't always help when looking at any vehicle. I would go back when the time calls, and I'm still here I will call them first so nobody go anywhere:)...........From all of US to all of You who helped us every step of the way, and helped to get us back on the road, and with a real "Road Car", as Lisa put it, "something to really consider when looking, "A road car", now we're all spoiled, something I hadn't, with good gas mileage. Today, 4 thousand miles, and 3 months later, its exceeded our expectations in more ways than one. May God bless you! Lisa, Kissy, Mike, Scott, and Mr.Fisher, and staff, for all your help. When it seems like no one else is appreciative of what you do, remember us!. Very happy, pleased, and thankful for the guidance, and the way this vehicle has performed, as we were assured. I wouldn't hesitate to take it on any road trip, anywhere. I might add its comfortable as well....."not so with my prior vehicle". Considering all things, I did okay with selling it, it paid for the taxes on the vehicle, just like Lisa said it would.:) Our Best, Jerry & Cinie, and Mom More
