I came to the Mazda Autobarn of Evanston after having a less than pleasant experience with a Mazda dealer in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I was highly recommended to see Michael Allegretti and was told he is the best salesman to speak to about buying a new Mazda. I went during my lunch hour on a Thursday, and when I walked out of the dealership an hour later, Michael and Lisa Freeman successfully managed to get me the best deal on the 2014 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Awd that I was interested in buying. The next day during another lunch hour visit, Lisa's sister Kissy Freeman, finished up my papers and sent me on my way to the finance department. Katy Callinan, of the finance department, took care of my financing and helped me get the best financing rate and warranty package for my brand new Mazda. I have had my Mazda for a little over a week now and cannot thank all the people who helped me at the Mazda Autobarn of Evanston enough for getting me behind the wheel of my first Mazda. I give the Mazda Autobarn of Evanston a perfect score and would send anyone that I knew to the folks over there. More

Like many other reviewers, it took around 15 minutes after stepping onto the Autobarn Mazda lot before anyone approached us. However, we did not find this to be a negative. It set the precedence for what was to be a low pressure sales environment - unlike other dealerships we visited where salesmen were circling at the driveway. We had ample time to browse new and used inventory. Jusuf Hodzic was our salesperson. His style is very relaxed, taking the time to ask a lot of questions and spending more time listening and supporting us through the transaction. We were stuck in between a used or new '14 CX5. We found Jusuf very knowledgeable and helpful. He crunched the numbers on both options and suggested the new car just made more sense. He gave us plenty of time to discuss our decision on our own after presenting all of the information. We re-crunched the numbers and he was dead on. Negotiation wasn't too difficult and we walked away feeling that everyone was happy. Have yet to try out the service aspect, which seems to be the major negative/annoyance for many reviewers on other sites. More

Outstanding experience, Dealership is honest and friendly. We had a terrible experince with another dealership in Schaumburg but Daniel made us forget about that and treated us great. We saw the car on the internet so I called about the price to be sure it would be sold for that price with no hidden "add-ons". Daniel was very attentive to our needs and let us all test drive the car. It was imaculate and ready for us when we arrived. The experience was exactly what I had hoped for since it was my son's first time car shopping. He loves the car, the price was fair but the service was OUTSTANDING and the finance manager was very friendly. We will definately be coming back for more cars based on this experience, even if they are over an hours drive. Well worth the time and distance to work with such professionals. Mario Grbavac was a fantastic salesman. He really helped me out purchasing my first vehicle. He was extremely educated on the car I was interested in and was personable. However, I did not have the best experience with the financial area. Steve who works in the financial area was completely incompetent and has no idea what customer service means. Took all my questions seriously and always made it clear he was there for me no matter how inconsequential the matter. Look him up next time you're looking to purchase a car. I love the car, too. The financing part made me uncomfortable, however, as I felt like I was being pushed into an expensive warranty, and I didn't feel like the finance guy was being honest with me. So that part of it left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but overall I would recommend the Autobarn and Ross to anyone. More
Last week, my wife found a 2006 Chrysler 300 online at the Autobarn of Evanston's Mazda website, and contacted a salesperson, Ross Conlon, who had successfully worked with several of our friends. Ross was courteous, thorough and professional in his communications both on the phone and once we arrived at the dealership for a test drive. Even though the Chrysler line is not in his specific area of expertise, he went over the top in researching all of the key features of this automobile, and thus was able to provide knowledgeable answers to all of our questions. The car was cleaned and ready to drive when we arrived, and there were no delays or obstacles of any kind that would impinge on our time and/or schedule. Once we decided to move forward with the purchase, Ross was on top of all of the nuances of alternative financing and appeared to be agnostic toward whichever option we felt best suited our situation. It was a pleasure to work with someone who neither applied any pressure nor tried to steer us down a path that might not have been in our best interest. Once the financing was complete, the plates were put on and we were "good to go." I would unabashedly recommend not only Ross individually for making this the best car-buying experience of our lives, but I would also highly recommend the professionalism of Tony Antonov in Finance for being so efficient during the signing.
