Oscar took charge and delivered the best vehicle I could’ve hoped for — a low-mileage 2017 Lexus RX350, complete with Lexus Premium Package — in all of 3½ hours, including the financing transaction. In contrast, I had waisted the prior two days in endless run-around at the hands of a well known Lexus dealership. Without prior arrangement, a single phone call to Oscar on the recommendation of a friend who’d purchased a vehicle from Texas Direct Auto (Vroom) months earlier is all it took to set things in motion. Twenty minutes later, my friend and I were on site. And, from check-in to test-drives and signing, the otherworldly efficiency of the entire operation is unmistakable. More importantly, I don't recall any other car-buying experience in which I was treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Without question, buying a vehicle from Texas Direct Auto (Vroom) has been the hassle-free experience of a lifetime, made all the more pleasurable and endearing by Oscar Davila, who, in my book, is the consummate professional — a true rockstar automobile sales specialist. This dealership has no interest in selling vehicles. I test drover their 2017 Dodge Hellcat a month ago. It did not have the red key which is required for the vehicle to operated at its maximum horsepow test drover their 2017 Dodge Hellcat a month ago. It did not have the red key which is required for the vehicle to operated at its maximum horsepower. I asked about that and they said they would order the key it AFTER it was purchased. I said that makes no sense - why would you buy a high performance vehicle when you don't have it at max performance at time of sale and be able to test drive it at the max HP. I spoke with a manager a few days later and he said that did not make sense, he would look into "modifying their processes" and would see about ordering the key. I called again today (the car is still for sale) and spoke with a different sales person. He said they would not order the key until the car is purchased. I told him what the manager told me 3 weeks ago and he said he had no information about that and they would never let anyone test drive that car at max HP. I said then why are you even selling it? No one would be a high performance car without being able to test drive it at high performance. He said that is their policy and they should have never let me test drive it in the first place because it needs "special approval". I told him I test drove your car and 2 other hellcats at other dealerships. He said they must have different policies. I asked to speak with a manager and he said he could not connect me with a manager. He took my phone number and said a manager would call me. Right! I'm sure that will happen. I will never buy a car from Vroom. More
