There is good reason why Texan Hyundai is not part of the Better Business Bureau. They simply do not follow the Truth & Advertising law. They advertise one price of a vehicle without any intention of honor Better Business Bureau. They simply do not follow the Truth & Advertising law. They advertise one price of a vehicle without any intention of honoring that price. You see it here - in several reviews. They advertised a new vehicle for $46,835 but when the buyer's agreement was presented, they had tacked on nearly $6k (SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS) in additional “protection packages”. When I told them I did not want to purchase those additional “add-ons” (muchless pay interest on those packages for 4-6 years), I was told they were REQUIRED costs and they would “lose money” without those costs added in. Isn’t this the type of unethical advertisements Americans are to be protected against? I’m very curious if they do this only to females or all of their customers. It’s infuriating to spend so much time investing in researching products, contacting dealers, investigating CarFax reports and trying to find that one needle in a haystack deal, only to be swindled. I was told “nearly every dealer in Houston is advertising this way”. Some companies will work hard at deceiving the American people for a profit and Texan Hyundai has proven it. I will be writing several reviews and our Attorney General regarding these unethical advertisement strategies. https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection/file-consumer-complaint Texas has several advertisement protection laws in place to protect consumers against deceptive and misleading advertisement practices. Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA): This law prohibits deceptive or misleading business practices, including false advertising, bait and switch tactics, and price gouging. More

Just another scummy / scammy dealership unfortunately. Texan Hyundai had a 2024 used vehicle on their website that was a fair price and happened to be the color combination we had been looking for my Texan Hyundai had a 2024 used vehicle on their website that was a fair price and happened to be the color combination we had been looking for my wife. I called in the morning and unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the person I spoke to. I started by asking him to confirm the vehicle was still in stock and yes it was available. I told him I was ready to buy if it passed a test drive and inspection, so please give me the out the door price so I could come prepared with a cashier’s check. He refused and said they can’t discuss any price at all on the phone, they only deal in person and only with an appointment. I’ve never heard of a dealership refusing to sell a car that someone was literally saying they were ready to write a check for, just tell me how much. That was my first big red flag. I decided that maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad salesman so I filled in the online form on their website to get their, “best price” which involves giving them your name and phone number. Almost immediately I got a call from Mauricio Hernandez. I again confirmed that yes they did have it in stock and asked for him to give me his best out the door price so I could bring a cashier’s check. He also suggested I come in to talk about it. I told him I don’t need to, I just need to know how much to bring to buy the vehicle. He said he’d get a number and call me back…. Spoiler alert: he didn’t call back. I called the dealership and asked for him about 4 hours later. I was told he was busy but he would call me back if I left my name and number. Can you guess what happened? You got it, no call back. At this point I was 95% certain this was an old school bait and switch dealer scam (“oh you wanted that one that’s at a good price? Sorry we JUST sold it but let me show you something similar!”). My wife and I decided on the off chance we just got unlucky with salesmen to drive the hour drive each way to the dealership and see if we could find someone actually willing to sell us a car. We got there and showed the web page of the car in question to our new salesman, Chazz. Chazz went away for a few minutes and here’s pop quiz number two, what do you think he said when came back? You got it, “We sold this vehicle 6 days ago”….. I will say that Chazz was a high point in this experience. Unlike the gruff folks I’d dealt with previously, he was friendly and quite frankly very calm in the face of how upset I was with what the other salesmen had done. I would happily buy a car from Chazz in the future, but not at Texan Hyundai. So the two people I’d spoken to previously who both confirmed they had the vehicle in stock and that I could come get it were both lying to get me on property. This is why people don’t trust dealerships. Just another greasy trick. More
I have purchased 2 cars with Texan Hyundai. In 2018 I got a limited Sonata and in 2023 a limited Tucson with my husband. I plan to go in at the end of 2024 to trade in my Sonata for a Santa Fe. James was very easy to work with. Then when we went to underwriting they laid everting out very clearly and left it up to us what we wanted to do. I didn't feel like an agenda was pushed on us. More
This place gives Hyundai a bad name. Please do not go to this dealership.I went there after I was given a drive out price over the phone text (see attached). When I got there, they incre Please do not go to this dealership.I went there after I was given a drive out price over the phone text (see attached). When I got there, they increased the price by $1000. Classic Bait and switch. They said they would meet me half way - because my son liked the car I begrudgingly proceeded with the purchase. If for some reason you decide to buy please check your finance sheet in extreme detail. On top of the bait and switch, I caught that had they added an additional $900 to the cost of the car. Ed the finance guy was either clueless or extremely dishonest. I asked the question, "I don't think these numbers add up", can you explain? he just sat there, looking down on the floor and said I don't know what you are talking about. He had to bring in the sales guy to explain the finances. I have never seen that before. Horrible! After spending 3 hours in negotiations/purchase process late into the night, they told me they would fix the issue regarding the sales price discrepancies the next day (see attached). The sales guy never called the next day. I texted him to see what's happening - no response. I called him. No response. I agree with all the other 1 star reviews, the staff here is less than stellar. I am sure an apology with no true action is coming down below like all the others. Please don't go here! More
I was working with this dealership to purchase a new vehicle and they added a ton of fees and a markup on the vehicle at the last minute. They were not honest about pricing even as I asked throughout th vehicle and they added a ton of fees and a markup on the vehicle at the last minute. They were not honest about pricing even as I asked throughout the process. They continued to lie saying the fees were going to be the same at all Hyundai dealerships. The next day I found several other Houston area dealerships that charged 0 markups or add ons. More
Worst dealership in Houston area. Promised me to fix the recall in 2 day on a brand new car before selling it to me. Now it’s almost a month with no fix and zero customer service.
