Our experience with the sales staff, specifically Jeremy and Brandon, was great. I did have to ask three times for a dealer invoice, which they were hesitant for me to have without sitting down to "talk num and Brandon, was great. I did have to ask three times for a dealer invoice, which they were hesitant for me to have without sitting down to "talk numbers." Speaking of numbers, they priced a 2011 Pathfinder SV at $5000 over the Edmonds "True Value." When I called Jeremy and told him we were serious about proceeding I indicated that we needed to work on the Internet "best price." I interpreted the tone in his voice as being nervous. He correctly cautioned me that they would not consider a whole lot, maybe the extra $500 I was seeking for my trade-in. I emailed an offer which he forwarded to the sales manager. (I almost feel bad for Jeremy, because the sales manager called me and left an angry voicemail. Sorry, Jeremy, for putting you in that position, but thanks for forwarding it.) His tone was clear: angry! My offer was, and I quote, "ridiculous." I'll be the first to admit it was low, intentionally. I will say that the sales manager took my call right away and afforded me a brief opportunity to tell him I was going off of the Edmonds price, and I was willing to come up on my offer if he was willing to come down - good old fashioned negotiating. I was not surprised with his response: NO, maybe $800. He made it clear that someone would pay full price for that certified pre-owned vehicle. That's sad, and it's sad that the dealership knows this, does a lot of business and takes advantage of the ignorant consumer. The incentive of "Free oil changes for life!" is not an incentive. A local oil change and tire rotation, with coupon, is $35 for a synthetic blend. Doing the math, it's simple: you'll average 2 or 3 (typically) oil changes per year. If you plan to trade after putting 100,000 miles on the 34,000 the vehicle already has, you'll trade in around 7 years, about a year after financing if you finance. That's a 'savings' of $735. Really? Start at a price $5000 over market value, add in $500 for "document fees/processing", and 7% sales tax...do the math. If you're willing to pay that much over the market value for 'service' you're only hurting the rest of us trying to negotiate a fair price and paying cash. There are plenty of other dealers out there that are willing to negotiate. Tenneson is not one of them. More
When I bought my car, I chose Tenneson because of their excellent service dept. I had a Nissan before I traded for a newer model so I was familiar with the service dept. Everyone was friendly, busy, and excellent service dept. I had a Nissan before I traded for a newer model so I was familiar with the service dept. Everyone was friendly, busy, and took care of business. I never had to wait long and was informed of any repairs or needs regarding my car. At that time, John Autry was the person I dealt with, and he was excellent and helpful. I scheduled an appointment to have the car purchased from Tenneson serviced. I arrived 15 minutes early. After over two hours of wait time, I still did not have my car. I finally ask about it and was told it had to have a new battery. I haven't had any trouble with my battery, and couldn't understand why they even tested it to come up with the "bad" reading. I wondered why something was done to my car without informing me or asking me first. I was then told it would be about 10 more minutes so I waited another 30 before telling the manager that I had to leave. Waiting over two hours as unacceptable to me. There were only two other cars in bays having some type of repairs made. I was told that they were one man short that day, but it still took a very long time, and changes were made to my car without my knowledge. I did get my car after about 2 1/2 hours. I've never waited that long for an oil change. I want to say that the service dept of a dealership is what sells cars. Anyone can write up the paperwork for a new car, but the service dept. is what will keep someone coming back to buy a car at that dealership. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with Tenneson up until the last months, and I'm sad to see it deteriorate. I hope you can do something to get things more organized and more professional. I will buy another car one day, and I'd love to buy it from Tenneson, but not with the current service dept. I'll look elsewhere when I get ready to trade if the one at Tenneson hasn't made an effort to provide excellent customer service. Thanks. More

I purchased a CPO vehicle from this dealership six months ago and I am already having trouble with the car. My brakes hace been making an awful noise when I back up and they refuse to do anything about it. FInally, they tell me, after 3 months of complaining, that I need new brake pads on the front and back ($400). The vehicle should have never been sold as a CPO if the brakes only lasted 6 months. I refuse to ever go back to any Tennesson dealerships; they are a bunch of low life crooks. More
My husband and I came from Alabama wanting to trade his truck in on something more fuel efficient. We stopped by the preowned lot and a young man met us in the parking lot and asked us what we were looking truck in on something more fuel efficient. We stopped by the preowned lot and a young man met us in the parking lot and asked us what we were looking for and I told him we wanted something with better gas. I asked if we could get the truck appraised so we could then see what kind of price range we were looking at. The guy walked off and came back and said "I would have to call around and see what we could get for your truck. Your best bet would be to go to chevrolet." We were in shock that this salesman made NO time to even help us and he never appraised the truck. So, my husband and I went to chevrolet and bought and amazing car and got extraordinary service. I will not recommend the used car lot of Tenneson Nissan to anyone. More

I was introduced to someone who allowed me to test drive it with us both in it and don't remember his name but doesn't matter because I never saw him again. Then came Burt Heaven who answered a lot of my questions. After a day or two I get a call from the other Burt, Burt Alfred and this is the salesperson who handled the actual ordering process. He was very courteous and kept me up to date on the progress of the order with frequent phone calls and e-mails. Then came the day of arrival about three months later and the time where money changes hands. So you see Tennesson has a $600 "documentary fee" they try to slip onto the final price and claim it's to pay for the paperwork clerk. It's the same item you see at other dealerships called such things as advertising fee, dealer prep fee, etc and is reinforced by the common tactic of "everyone has to pay it, I had to pay it" type of nonsense. There was some haggling until they cut it in half, wish I had them cut it altogether because the car was priced by the dealer at MSRP minus a floormat option I ordered. The whole process went smooth until I saw that $600 fee. And even now going on three weeks after the deal I still don't have the title and paperwork to get the permanent tag. One week left on the temp tag. My experience at the dealership was very unique and may not apply to everyone else simply because I was buying the new electric car which has a very unique buying process of its own compared to other common Nissan vehicles.
