Wendy, I do apologize that we had a miscommunication issue when you were trying to purchase a vehicle. We do our best to take great care of our customers before, during and after the sale. Again, I regret that we fell short of that goal with you. There is an old saying that there are always two side to every story. I have spoken to everyone involved and I believe them when they tell me that we did clearly inform you that we would be running your credit. Also, when you signed the credit application it states above your signature: “For the purpose of securing credit, I certify that the above information is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I authorize you to check my employment history and obtain information about credit experiences with me, including a credit report from one or more consumer reporting agencies (credit bureaus) in connection with this application.” This did give us permission to arrange a loan for you as we did but I do agree that our salesperson and sales manager should have communicated better about your wishes before they submitted your application to the lenders. I understand that you were communicating with Horne KIA the whole time you were in our showroom and they were trying to get you to leave our dealership and buy from them. I understand that you wanted an additional $1,000 discount or you were going to go to Horne. We were unable to make the price that low so we counter-offered with an additional $500 off the numbers that you had agreed to. This was not acceptable to you and this is when the disagreement escalated. You became upset and very rude to our employees. Our manager felt that you were attempting to force us into lowering our price by $1,000 mostly because of what Horne KIA was telling you while you were here. We could not take another $1,000 off the price so you exercised your right to leave and go to another dealership to buy a car. We were asked by 2 other KIA dealerships the next day to dealer trade the vehicle you were interested in buying. We declined because it is one of the only vehicles like that in Arizona. As far as our ability to remove an inquiry on a credit bureau….I was not aware of any way to accomplish that. I had never heard of eOscar until you mentioned it. The last time I was in a meeting with lenders and the credit bureaus, once an inquiry was made in the system, that inquiry would stay on the report for one year. I found the eOscar website and I called an spoke to a representative there and he told me that there was a process whereby in some limited situations an inquiry could be removed but that in this situation he felt that the inquiry would be considered valid and therefore would remain. We declined your request that we give you a letter on our company letterhead stating that we made the inquiry in error because we did not make an error when we ran the credit report. You were informed up front that we would be pulling your credit and you signed the credit application with that knowledge. Wendy, I sincerely regret that things went sideways when you were trying to buy a car from us. Our intention was always to take good care of you and with some help from Horne KIA, things went off track. I hope that we can somehow be of service to you in the future. I will be sending you 2 Free Lube Oil and Filter Change Coupons as a small token to try and make up for the experience you had. Thank you for your time. Mike Breyfogle - General Manager
