It took 6 hours to get to what they said they could do over the phone. We live out of state and this was our college age daughter’s first car purchase. I called and the Conversation started at 1pm. I was clear about the make, model, and budget for a new car purchase and the condition of trade in. Also requested that the team provide clear explanations and reasonable expectations for a 21yo buying a vehicle. By 1:30p they looked at the trade in my daughter brought in and we were not able to settle on the agreement we were clear about 3 hours prior until 430p because manager was in the bathroom, manager was was out of the office, or manager was crunching numbers. By 5:30p Gage (finance) had ran the credit incorrectly and would not accept from her that she could afford the payments on her own. She was almost in tears because he recommended that she come back another day after her parents co-signed for her. She called me and had me on speaker where he presented a condescending and irritated tone when I suggested that he run it through her credit alone and accept her online paystub (not paper) as proof. He said “this is the way Honda wants it and the way my manager set it up” . He refuse to transfer me to the manager and instead reluctantly agreed to use her credit. We were not surprise that it was approved and that he didn’t attempt to clear things up. It’s unfortunate the way things turned sour as this could’ve been a more celebratory memory for a new car purchase with all that she’s worked towards. After all that stress She left the dealership at 7p with a new car and everything we said we wanted at the start of this process. More
