The two salesmen we worked with were both very nice and very fun to deal with. For the first time EVER, we were actually offered a very fair trade-in on my wife's 6 year old Elantra. The finance manager was excellent and gave us very generous discounts on the ten year extended warranty we purchased with the vehicle. Honestly, I don't have one negative thing to say about buying this Tucson at the Bend dealership. I would recommend them to anyone. They are truly a nice group of people and they are honest and straight up. We could not be happier in our purchasing experience. Dan Maricich / President: Morningstar Ski Tours More

I suggested Team Hyundai (as I believed them to be a partner of Team Kia and had excellent dealings with Kia in the past) and we went to purchase our new commute vehicle from the dealership (Team Hyundai located @ 2250 Northeast Us Hwy 20 in Bend, Oregon) on July 6th, 2017. Char Burdick was the first contact we made. She was cordial and friendly in her mannerisms and we took a liking to her. She ushered my fiance and me to a Lexus that was out of our price range so, we asked to look at something cheaper. She showed us a 2007 Mazda 6 and urged us to purchase the vehicle as it was in "great shape" and had "passed a 150 point inspection." The deal interested us however, there were a few discrepancies in the paperwork: 1. The price we were quoted on paperwork initially was $7999.99 however, I noticed the price on the window sticker was $6999.99 so, I went out to the vehicle and took a picture of said price. In all fairness, Char agreed that she had misquoted the price and re-priced the paperwork to match the sticker price. 2. We stated that we wanted a three year loan at no more than $175 monthly otherwise, we would not be able to purchase the car. This was agreed upon prior to meeting with Shannon Gasper, the Finance Manager of Team Hyundai. Mr. Gasper helped up fill out any required paperwok however, I paused when I saw the term of the loan. The loan had been modified to 60 months @ $140.00 and a 'third party warranty' had been added to the price of our payments. When I asked Mr. Gasper why the agreed loan had changed, he made what I felt was a good point. He noted we could pay the vehicle off faster so the loan wouldn't have to extend to 60 months and that the extended warranty might help my fiance and me, should an issue arise. He stated that the 150 point inspection ocurred on the vehicle past expectation and it's history had been spotless. Although I was displeased with the prior unmentioned warranty being added to the loan without my previous knowledge or consent, I agreed that I would purchase the vehicle regardless. We finished the paperwork and I paid an intial amount of $750.00 before leaving the dealership. July 29, 2017 Driving home around 11:00 P.M. my fiance's headlights shut off leaving her blind to the road while doing 45 MPH on Bend's Parkway. She managed to pull the vehicle to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. She turned the vehicle on and was able to turn the headlights back on for a duration of approximately 30 seconds before they failed again. In this time, she noticed all interior lights (dashboard) had quit working and all guages had failed (eg. Fuel, Temperature, Speed, RPM). Furthermore, the vehicle seemed to be vibrating a bit intensely. July 30, 2017 Since I had been working graveyard from July 29 to July 30 (10:30 PM - 7:30 AM) I found out about the issue my fiance had on the evening of July 30, 2017. I used an OBD scanner to check if the Mazda 6 had thrown any codes, and my scanner showed the following: P0037 P2101 U0101 U0155 and four extra Mazda add on codes that my scanner doesn't support My fiance and I agreed that we would go to the dealership the next day and present the issue. July 31, 2017 I drove my fiance's Mazda to the dealership (Followed by my fiance in my Equinox) and explained what had happened to my fiance on July 29, 2017 to Rob Manning (Team Hyndai's Service Manager). I showed him a copy of the error codes (listed above) and he directed me to speak with Austin Cavaness (Service Writer). I repeated the issues and showed Mr. Cavaness the error codes I had gotten. Mr Cavaness was cordial and agreed that the issues would be addressed. My fiance asked Mr. Cavaness if there was a 'loaner' car available (as this vehicle was less than 30 days new to us) and we were told that Team Hyundai does not offer loaner vehicles due to a issue incurred in the past. Although frustrated, we agreed we didn't have a choice but to wait for a diagnosis of the problem. Later that day, Mr. Cavaness called and stated that the issue with the car may be a wiring harness failure. He stated he couldn't be certain if that was the issue however, the vehicle would be taken to a local Mazda dealership to be better diagnosed. He stated they were booked several weeks out and we would have to wait for a better diagnosis. When asked how much a repair would be on something like that, he stated $3000.00. He further stated that he would do his best to maker sure we weren't 'left in a bad situation.' That evening, My fiance and I went to remove some belongings from her Mazda 6. Mr. Gasper, Miss Burdick, and an unknown gentlemen were out front of the dealership appearing to be wishing each other good night (the dealership was almost closed). My fiance and I stopped to let the group know we had come to remove her work clothes from the vehicle. During that moment, Miss Burdick seemed very consoling to the issue and explained that the dealership was going to do it's best to help the situation. Mr. Gasper stated that although the dealership wasn't required to do anything for us, they were going to see what could be done. August 2, 2017 My fiance and I received a phone call from Team Hyundai stating that a 'loaner' vehicle would be available for us (which was highly appreciated) until the "mess" with our Mazda was sorted out. We spoke with Mr. Cavaness and found that a loaner had been made available and we filled out all necessary paperwork required to obtain the vehicle. We went outside to inspect the vehicle and were followed by Mr. Gasper. I began taking pictures of the vehicle to protect my family's interest and Mr. Gasper stated that "I was sure being thorough." I told him yep and he responded "You know, we don't have to do this for you. We're doing you a favor." I was frustrated so I stated that I'm not going to trust "the 150 point inspection" and that I wanted the pictures. After taking the pictures Mr. Gasper led my Fiance and me over to the West side of the dealership to have a cigarette. Initially, my fiance and Mr. Gasper made small talk about the heat and then Mr. Gasper turned to me. Unbidden, he stated that the mechanic that performs the 150 point inspections has been a mechanic for over 30 years and that he wasn't just "some kid." I simply responded with "ok," as I felt provoked. He continued on stating that my fiance and I could try to get a lawyer but, it wouldn't do us any good (NOTHING HAD BEEN MENTIONED ABOUT LEGAL RAMIFICATIONS) and the dealership didn't need to do anything for us. He stated the bank owns the car now. Not Hyundai. I knew this but, I didn't speak. He finished by saying that they (the dealership) was going to try and find a solution that would work for both parties. He stated that you don't stay in business by screwing people. August 4, 2017 I write this not as an attack, provacation, or insult to Team Hyundai. I believe the Dealership will make this right. I do feel that a lot of issues have arisen from this situation however, I believe Team Hyundai will stand behind their product and their word. I believe that when this is finally taken care of, Team Hyundai will make sure that my fiance and I are not given a $7100 (initial loan) with a $750.00 down payment unsafe vehicle with over $3000.00 worth of issues. Furthermore, I don't believe that Team Hyundai would give us a vehicle of lesser value as compensation. As of this moment, this is simply a statement of facts as I see them. I will continue to post summaries and advances as I learn of them. A little about Us. Many of you know me as "The Taco Bell Guy" from the Taco Bell on 3rd Street in Bend, Oregon (A couple of years have passed since then but, I still see faces everywhere). To everyone, I am Timothy Carnahan and I appreciate your time. We are a couple living by modest means. We rent a duplex, have a small dog, and we have a 7 year old son. We both work 40 + hours a week and we do what we can to get by. We both have long standing medical issues that require periodic check ups for the both of us. We both enjoy the city we live in. We love the atmosphere, the people, and the environment. We are two people that have lived here, worked here, and grown here. We are simple people wanting the American Dream (or as close to it as we can make it). More
Good Experience The scratches/dings did not effect how I feel about the experience. I'm sure they will take care of it when I return for service. They were great. They listened to the vehicle f I went in wanting to purchase a new or year-old vehicle and trade in my old vehicle that was upside-down nearly $5,000. They listened to the vehicle features I wanted, including it being an SUV, all-wheel drive, and newer with low miles. I got to test drive several vehicles, but I was having trouble financing the older ones and the more expensive ones, and so they showed me a newer one in my price range but it did not have all-wheel drive. When I told them I absolutely HAD to have all-wheel drive because of where I live, they left and came back a couple minutes later with a BRAND NEW vehicle in my price range with just what I was looking for. The finance team and manager worked together to get me out of my upside-down car and in to my brand new Hyundai Tucson! I was so happy. I will definitely be recommending this dealership to others and plan on coming back for all my car maintenance needs in the future. More
