Purchasing a new vehicle can be difficult at times. The reason we came to Gillman this time was our good experience with previous purchases there. We were met by a super sales representative named Ryan Witt. Our time with Ryan was very well spent. He spent a bit of time to determine our wants and needs in a new vehicle. Then he presented us with several options as to color and features. At no time in the process did he loose focus on our requirements. We reached a decision and he smoothed the way for us to connect with finance to get us on our way. Let us conclude by saying that Ryan is one of the most considerate, thoughtful, tech savvy and professional sales reps we’ve ever met in the auto business. I am submitting this formal complaint concerning deceptive and misleading sales practices encountered at Team Honda North, in connection with the potential purchase of a 2015 Honda Odyssey 5dr Touri deceptive and misleading sales practices encountered at Team Honda North, in connection with the potential purchase of a 2015 Honda Odyssey 5dr Touring (Stock N257325A, Mileage 93,755, Price: $15,541). On November 4, 2025, I traveled approximately one hour to your dealership to test drive the above vehicle after viewing it online. During my visit, I was informed that several issues identified during inspection would be repaired prior to sale. However, I was later told that only “safety issues” would be addressed, and that the dealership would not correct other problems because the vehicle was listed at a “lower internet price.” Despite that limitation, I remained interested in the vehicle and asked specific questions regarding any available warranty and a short-term return policy. I was told that the dealership offered neither. Based on this information, I chose not to purchase the vehicle that day. After returning home, I reviewed your dealership’s website and discovered the following statement under your “Happy Driving Guarantee”: “Take advantage of our Happy Driving Guarantee. Just bring it back in the purchase condition within five days and 500 miles and we’ll refund your money, no questions asked. Ask your salesperson for all the details.” This guarantee was never disclosed during my visit, even though I specifically asked about a return option. This omission and contradictory statement represent a failure to disclose a material fact and constitute false, misleading, or deceptive trade practices under Texas Business & Commerce Code §17.46(b) of the Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act (DTPA).
