I went to Metro Dodge Chrysler Jeep after I found a used car on Cars.com. I spoke with Franco on the phone, and haggled a price for the vehicle I was interested in. After he discussed it with his manager, R car on Cars.com. I spoke with Franco on the phone, and haggled a price for the vehicle I was interested in. After he discussed it with his manager, Ryan, we agreed on a price, so I made an appointment to come in for a test drive. The next day, Franco called to confirm, and I reiterated the price we agreed on, verified the stock number of the vehicle, and reminded him that this was a cash deal with no trade-in. I asked him kindly to not have me come up there if they weren’t going to honor the deal. He assured me that all was in order and I should ask for Ryan upon my arrival. Once I got there, I asked for Ryan, but Wayne came to my assistance. He took down my information, and I apprised him of the deal we struck on the phone. He got the car, we went for a test drive, and once we arrived back at the dealership, I, once again, reminded him of the price point we agreed on. He fled to the back for approximately fifteen minutes, and returned only to have a price that was much higher than the one we agreed on. I asked to speak to either Franco or Ryan, but, of course, neither was available. I expressed my dissatisfaction that they lied and he responded, “I didn’t lie to you.” As if it makes a difference who at their dealership was untruthful. They had no intention of honoring this deal, which would have been fine if they just told me before I drove all the way up there. I am a mother of four children, working a full-time job, and doing the books for my husband’s busy summer business. They had a complete disregard for me as a customer, for the value of my time, and for the cost of the fuel it took me to drive there. I would never deal with Metro Motor Group and the Grieco’s should be ashamed at the lack of integrity of their sales force. More
I've been researching the All New Dodge Dart ever since they started advertisement for it. I've called and e-mailed dozens of dealerships, read ALL the reviews on the Dart. Then my friend told me she since they started advertisement for it. I've called and e-mailed dozens of dealerships, read ALL the reviews on the Dart. Then my friend told me she bought a Jeep off Brian Mackie at Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge at 1667 Hartford Ave in Johnston RI, She said she had the best experience at a car dealership, she than gave me Brian's business card. When I got to the dealership I was greeted by Brian who was very friendly, Right away he showed me the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT. From what I told him on the phone he picked out the EXACT one I wanted! color and everything! When he pulled the car around he opened all the doors, hood, and trunk. He was very informative and knew a lot about the Dodge Darts! When we got back from the test drive we got down to the numbers. After going back and forth we were a little ways away and I thought we couldn't come to a deal. Then Brian came over with his Manager Brandon Debarros, after talking with Brandon who was very nice, he understood what I was trying to accomplish and they left to go run the numbers and when they came back Brian handed me the keys to my brand New Car! Both Brian and Brandon made what used to be a hassle into a Great Experience. I would recommend everybody to go see Brian at Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge! More
Usually people come online to report bad experience or complain. I actually had a surprisingly GREAT EXPERIENCE and would like to share it. As most people do, I did tons of research online for a 2014 jeep complain. I actually had a surprisingly GREAT EXPERIENCE and would like to share it. As most people do, I did tons of research online for a 2014 jeep grand cherokee...read reviews.. dif dealerships. I was hesistant to come here from some not so nice reviews I read but they DID have the exact grand cherokee I wanted. I came in an worked with Kristy. Very straight forward and nice person who even got me a hot coffee. I must say I was highly impressed with the presentation of the vehicle. When we walked outside she had opened up ALL THE DOORS THE HOOD AND TRUNK! She made a joke that it looked like a transformer and that made me laugh!! Buying a car is not something I look forward to but I must say it was different this time. I met the Sales Manager Ryan who I was told to ask for by Nicole who I spoke with earlier to make sure my EXACT WHITE CHEROKEE was there. I am so glad I did not have to drive far and felt comfortable enough to drive it home that day, which is something I normally do not do. I would recommend Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge and ask for Kristy. I even received a hand written Thank You note from her that made me feel like i was not 'just a sale'. Thanks METRO!! More
What a great dealership!! I had called into the dealership on Monday July 15th to see what time they were open until and spoke with Nicole. She told me they close at 8:00 and asked if I was intere dealership on Monday July 15th to see what time they were open until and spoke with Nicole. She told me they close at 8:00 and asked if I was interested in a specific vehicle. I told her that I was looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee and wanted to test drive and see what their best price was. Nicole informed me of this crazy sale that they were having and I told her I would be in before they closed to see what they could do for me. She set me up an appointment time at 6:45pm to meet with her manager Ryan. I arrived on time and was greeted by Wayne. He sat me down and took a little information on my wants and needs in a vehicle. He pulled up a new Grand Cherokee for me to test drive. Now let me tell you it was AMAZING! I have never driven a Jeep before but it was great! Wayne opened every door and the hood and explained every benefit available in the Jeep. This thing was LOADED! My first thought was I could NEVER afford this. Well Wayne came through … he got me the vehicle within my budget!! I would recommend this dealership to all my family and friends even complete strangers! They treated me like family!! I came into this location to purchase a vehicle. At this point 5 star service. I did not receive my 2nd key but with a promise and a handshake from my salesmen and the finance manager that it would be maile point 5 star service. I did not receive my 2nd key but with a promise and a handshake from my salesmen and the finance manager that it would be mailed to me no issue. I received a 20 day temp plate from them and left in my new truck. Long story short they screwed up with the DMV. I did not receive my plates after the 20 days and they had me come down and pick up a 2nd 20 day temp plate! (Illegal in RI!!!!) I asked about my 2nd key and was assured they were looking for it. I purchased my vehicle in 8/2012. They called me asked me if I wanted to come in pick up my key and have my vehicle serviced. After the DMV snapfoo with them I did not want to have my vehicle serviced I asked them to mail me my keys. After months of calling the location and the head office I still have yet to receive my keys. I went down to the location and explained things to the GM at which point I was asked to sit down. After a hr and 30 min wait I was told my keys had been mailed out and they did not have them. I asked when it was mailed and what I should do since I had not received them he said it was not his problem. He then told me the Police had been called and I should exit the location. I had my 6 month old daughter with me and he is threatening to have me arrested by the police. 1 star service via the badge *CLAP CLAP*. Do not think this review is true? Check out youtube video of it search metro chrysler jeep and dodge no star service. You are a fool if you believe these people or buy a car from them. More
I'm extremely dissatisfied with this place and more specifically with Kristy the saleswoman and Ryan the manager. What terrible service! It's not exactly news that car salesmen are con artists and liar specifically with Kristy the saleswoman and Ryan the manager. What terrible service! It's not exactly news that car salesmen are con artists and liars, but these two lied to my face down to the very end! They constantly advertise that they will save you thousands. Lies. They also give you a specific quote online for vehicles in stock that do not even exist. And when you show up with the paperwork and price they tell you they only have cars that are $6000 more than that price. And in the end you don't even end up with the price that they eventually agreed on. I've also never had to wait so long, and for awful service on top of it. Don't make appointments for 8 different people at one time and only have one finance director! I don't have all day to just sit around waiting 2 hours past my scheduled time before I even get helped. I will say that I did like Darruda the finance director though. He was actually helpful and respectful. I would never recommend this dealership to anybody! Save yourself a little aggravation and go anywhere else. More
Run away fast.... Contacted dealer by phone to ask the price of a newly listed used vehicle. I was told the price and made an appointment to see the vehicle later that same day. I went and drove the veh price of a newly listed used vehicle. I was told the price and made an appointment to see the vehicle later that same day. I went and drove the vehicle. There weren't too many of these locally. I was pretty sure I wanted the vehicle. Not much "selling" was even needed. I explained to the salesperson, Dave Duarte, that I had already called and was told the price. He said he would double check anyway. Of course, the $16,999 I was told on the phone was a mistake. The actual price was $19,999. (Mind you, the $16,999 was right in line with other like vehicles online.) He showed me a KBB printout to justify why the $17 was clearly a mistake and the vehicle's true cost was $19k. I was told that I had to give my credit card or a check in order to make an offer. I asked why and Dave said it's just to show good faith. I gave him my credit card, offered $11,000 + my trade. The back and forth ensued. I continued to dig my heels in. I may just have well been silent. This guy just didn't listen. At the end of the day, and I mean 4 hours later, I paid $300 over what I wanted. Okay. So here comes the paperwork showing additional fees, etc. I said absolutely not. I said not $1 over the $11,300. I wrote "NO" on all the additional fees and signed the Agreement. He assured me not to worry. My signature was clearly on the paperwork at the $11,300 + taxes. It was late Friday afternoon. I had to go back Monday to finish the finance / registration paperwork. After worrying all weekend about this transaction, because now I feel like I'm dealing with snakes, my worries were confirmed. There was an additional $200 that was completely unavoidable. The sales manager, Ryan, said there was nothing he could do. We just wouldn't have a deal if I didn't pay. Of course, he says this after my traded car is long gone off to the auction. When I reminded Ryan that the lied about the price of my car, 1st he said the $16,999 assumed a $2,000 trade, then he said "those are 3rd party web-sites". Obviously, nothing is their responsibility. This vehicle that I purchased, is still on cargurus.com and autotrader.com for $17k !! Plus, absolutely no mention of any assumed $2,000 when they gave me the price over the phone, nor was there any mention of this "logical" explanation when I was told the $17k was a mistake and the actual price was $19k. Finally, I was informed that if I used my own financier, they would not handle the registration process. I received a rate of 1.9% from AAA and when I told them I would use AAA, they asked "well, is AAA going to register the car for you?" They are unprofessional and they are DISHONEST. Don't be fooled that this dealer is a big and professional organization. They are simply the stereotypical, plaid jacket used car salesman scammers wrapped in a big shiny building. Do yourself a favor, go to Tasca. They will find whatever vehicle you need and never a worry about being taken advantage of. More
I had previously bought two cars at Metro (in the span of about 18 months) and had a great experience. When looking to make a trade a few years ago, I went back to Metro and had an awful experience and walk about 18 months) and had a great experience. When looking to make a trade a few years ago, I went back to Metro and had an awful experience and walked out the door having vowed to never return. I am once again in the market for a car and heard that Metro had made some changes. I figured that everyone deserves a second chance, so I went, checked out the inventory and found something that I liked. I sat with two different sales staff (Wayne and Kristy) who were excellent. I had no issues with them at all! They were accommodating and listened to what I wanted. One my second visit, we test drove and began to negotiate. I gave an idea of where I wanted to be for a monthly payment, figuring that I would have to give in at some point and lessen my demands. Isn't this what both parties do in a negotiation? Shouldn't there be a bit of give and take? Here is where the series of problems began. What drew me into Metro was the following email (copied and pasted from my email): "Hi XXXX, Thank you for considering Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I just wanted to touch base in regards to your interest in a new vehicle! We are at the beginning of the month and this month we are looking to start making VERY AGGRESSIVE deal at the beginning of the month to end even stronger at the end of the month! The factory rebates and incentives are VERY aggressive for the month of May and we did make our quota for the month April! What does that mean to you as a consumer? MORE room to negotiate pricing as well as trade ins! We are still offering up to 120% of the KBB value for trade ins as well! I would like to schedule an appointment for you to stop into the dealership this weekend, test drive some vehicles as well work with my manager to see what AGGRESSIVE deal we can work out for you! Give me a call at XXX-XXX-XXXX or you can email me back as well! All the best, Nicole Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge" When we sat for negotiations, I was offered13,500 for my car, $3,000 below the kbb trade in value, this amount represents the poorest condition listed on kbb.com, not the actual condition of my car. In "very good" condition, plus the extra 20%, I should have been offered about $18,300. The sales manager (Brian or Ryan?) failed to give an explanation or honor the conditions explained in the email. After being frustrated we began to talk about monthly payments, down payments and so on. I told the sales manager that I might try and secure financing through my own credit union , as my wife and I have spotless credit and usually get better rates. The sales manager's response (in a snotty and omnipotent manner) was "Whats that going to save you, about $270 dollars?) My response was that, "Yes, with two young children at home, every penny counts and I can do something with them with the money I save." At that point, he began to pick up on the fact that I was upset. After moving along the sales manager came to me and said "We aren't interested in making a deal, we can't make the deal. If you want to change your terms give us a call." I was upset, left the dealership but still figured that a deal could be made. I went home, crunched the numbers in my own mind and called Kristy, figuring that we could salvage something. Big mistake on my part. Although she worked hard for me and tried to get the deal done, nothing had changed. Over the phone, I was told that the numbers were really close to where I wanted to be so I went in and two hours later, nothing had changed. The monthly payment was $35 a month over what I wanted, they extended the term for six months beyond the terms of what I requested, asked my to take more money out of the bank that I was willing to, and still did not meet the 120% of KBB trade in value. Perhaps if they dropped the price of the car a bit more than $250, we could have made a deal? Once I walked away from the deal and told the manager about why I was upset with his attitude and why I was no longer comfortable, the apologies came and I felt like they used guilt to try and get me to buy a car. I was told many times "Do you know how hard she worked on this for you?" Yes she did, but the sales manager did not. It is the sales person's job to work for the customer, as it is the job of the sales manager. I am not going to buy a car just because people worked hard. The bottom line is that I was insulted, talked down to and then given a guilt trip. I have never been treated this way and will not return to Metro again. Please consider this review when car shopping. Dealers need us more than we need them, there are many cars and options out there! More
What a horrible experience I had this weekend at Metro. I went in looking to purchase a used Dodge Charger. Everyone seemed friendly at first while test driving and checking out the car. That all changed whe went in looking to purchase a used Dodge Charger. Everyone seemed friendly at first while test driving and checking out the car. That all changed when we started talking numbers and tried to work out a deal. The deal was going to be to make a down payment of about 1/3 of the value of the car and finance the rest. The salesman (Michael Jennison) initially ran some financing numbers by me that when totaled up, came out to be way more than the asking price. After saying no to the terms, they then brought it down a few dollars a month for a 60 month loan (extremely minimal). I also had asked that a few small issues be resolved with the car before purchasing it (small chip in the paint, align exhaust tips, etc). They worded the terms in the contract in such a way that it gave them complete control of the extent of the fix and would not change it to say "to be approved by buyer" before purchasing (shouldn't be an issue if they are confident in their work....just saying). They also refused to give me a price breakdown of the contract. When the salesman finally did, he simply wrote down the asking price and the cost for all the fees (NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR!). After repeatedly asking them to change the wording of the contract and give me an ACTUAL price breakdown that added up to the agreed up financing terms, they got fed up and threw me out of the dealership over that. NOT the way a dealer should treat its customers if they want to get business. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. The car really fit what I was looking for, but I will never step foot in the dealership again after being treated like that. It's dealerships like Metro that give all car dealerships a bad rep. Shame on them. More
Terrible!! Went to metro after speaking to salesmen over the phone and by email to get everything in order before hand. What a waste of time, as soon as I walked In the 120%. Trade in was thrown out they we the phone and by email to get everything in order before hand. What a waste of time, as soon as I walked In the 120%. Trade in was thrown out they went right to the ( how much a month can you afford!! ) I kept asking for a price on the car and was told that wasn't how it works ? Really ? After walking out twice we agreed on a used vehicle low miles while closing the deal I asked for a second key, oh sorry sir it only came with one key but "no problem sir we have a special program for you to get an extra key just finish up the paperwork and we will tell you all about it". Well the special program is to add $400 to your loan and call it a "Key Membership" that replaces lost keys no questions! And There is a form you are required to sign stating that the dealership provided me with to keys. I refused pointing out not only was this fraud but I was being charged$$$$$ to get the xxxx 2nd key. I argued and was promised a second key fob if i came in later (it was a Sunday). Well I was then told that they would only provide me with a key fob at cost $150 wth! This is only one of my complainants, they also tried to jack up my interest rates while adding on tire insurance, gap insurance without ever asking me first, when I refused the add ons that said they had to jack up my rates because I didn't qualify for any of their discounted interest rates what a scam!! All in all, this place has been a nightmare! More
