All buyers beware, please! Tasca Buick GMC (formerly known as Dick Norris) of Palm Harbor engages in fraudulent transactions. This week, they sold us a brand new black GMC pickup truck with serious body known as Dick Norris) of Palm Harbor engages in fraudulent transactions. This week, they sold us a brand new black GMC pickup truck with serious body defects without disclosing those defects. After test driving this truck last Friday, we decided to buy it. The truck was dirty at the time, so we did not see any body defects and none were pointed out to us by the salesman, Isaac Stuckey. The following Saturday, we worked out the numbers over the phone with Tasca's finance department. We came in to sign the paperwork and to pick up the truck on Monday. The salesman said the truck was in the back and that he would bring it out after the paperwork was finalized. After all paperwork was signed, we went to the dealership's parking lot to pick up the truck. We noticed a big scratch on the front bumper. Since the truck was black and washed at that time, we could easily see the dents and scratches. We pointed out the scratch on the bumper to the salesman, but he ignored it. When we started to inspect the truck more closely, we found previous repairs done on it. The rear driver's side door was recently fixed up with filler, and by the looks of it, it was repainted with spray cans. It was buffed out horribly with sand paper scratches all over the door. There were also more scratches all over the truck, all of which we could not see when test driving it. The salesman called his new car manager, Dominick Coniglione, and his sales manager, Steve Newcomer. We pointed out the damage on the truck to them and asked why they sold it to us as new without disclosing the defects. They took a very hostile position: if you don’t like it, don’t buy it... even though it was already bought, had license plate on it, credit check done and finance papers signed. They said there was nothing wrong with the truck, laughed at us and said we did not know anything about cars. They said it was just some poor wax job and a factory paint defect. But the truck had serious body damage and not just some factory paint defect. Mr. Newcomer later said they could repair the vehicle. We answered that for us to take home a NEW vehicle that was DAMAGED and REPAIRED, they would have to give us a significant discount. Steve answered no, they "don't play games like that" (whatever that meant). After we refused to take the truck, the dealership management agreed to void the transaction, but they refused to give us any proof of it. They even took our copies of the sale, said they would shred everything and told us we were good to leave. Only after we called Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and after the deputies arrived, the dealership management gave us a note that the transaction was voided. If you decide to buy a vehicle from them, make sure you inspect it very well! More
