We purchased a new Honda Passport Elite approximately 3 wks ago. Have not received a call from Sales Rep on how we like car and if we have any issues or concerns. I submitted 2 separate inquires to Parts wks ago. Have not received a call from Sales Rep on how we like car and if we have any issues or concerns. I submitted 2 separate inquires to Parts online to purchase an additional $1500 in accessories to be installed and mirrors don’t fully retract, never received a response; poor customer service. Very hesitant to have my new car serviced there if this is the level of customer service TH provides. More
I'm still in shock about all I experienced when going in to test drive a Certified Honda Fit EX. TLDR: dealer won't negotiate, scratches on car that violate CPO standards. The salesman Tom and used sale to test drive a Certified Honda Fit EX. TLDR: dealer won't negotiate, scratches on car that violate CPO standards. The salesman Tom and used sales manager would not negotiate the sales price nor the total Out The Door price and meet my budget (they didn't give clear line items either). The top of my budget was $500 away from their asking price, and they would only come down $200, so I walked away over a difference of $300! I wasn't lying when I said it was the absolute top of what I could pay. I am an informed buyer and I drove 3 hours to get here from PA with my boyfriend. We got there and inspected the car, and noticed several very obvious scratches/ body damage - minor but noticeable and not previously disclosed. The test drive was fine, and we took it to a mechanic for a pre purchase inspection. It was well maintained by previous owner and there was light corrosion on the exhaust pipe which is nothing abnormal. Everything else checked out. We went back to the dealership and I asked for all the vehicle service documents: Carfax, CPO warranty booklet, CPO 182 point inspection the dealer did. When reading the CPO inspection checklist, I saw the list of things that would disqualify a car from being Certified, and one stood out - "scratches greater than 4 inches, dings/dents that cannot be covered by a dime..." There is a deep and long scratch (~ 6 inches) on the front right part of the car that I knew exceeded these criteria, so I mentioned it. I showed Tom and they said they could repair it easily. When I asked "Oh, like when? Right now?" He said we'd have to come back Wednesday because they didn't have the laborer there... But we couldn't agree to come back in two days and drive another 6 hours total just to have them fix something they should have already done for the CPO! As it is, the car should not be certified. So I asked for a price reduction based on the exterior damage which I wasn't expecting and the fact the car had been sitting on the lot for over 65 days. That's when things got intense. Tom said they had no aging policy for used cars... but what dealer doesn't??? For the rest of the interaction, Tom and the manager gave us so many lines it's hard to remember them all. They said that the Internet sale price that's on their own inventory website $14999 is NOT the actual price, and that they were having a "glitch" on their website and it was wrong, and it should have been $15800 or something. The sticker on the actual car says ~$15480. And I'd been looking at their website and other sites said $14999, nothing higher. You'd think that a sales price that wrong would be corrected over the two weeks I had been seeing it and correct on the sticker. In fact I had a printout of the email I sent last week asking if the price was $14999, and a salesperson confirmed it for me and said yes they'd just lowered it. They said they'd "honor" that quoted sales price, as if they were doing me a favor. The manager talked JUST to my boyfriend at first and I had to correct him to say that I (a woman) am the buyer, please talk to me, so that really made me feel insulted. He said lowering the price $500 would cause him to lose money on what he put into the car, which I know is just not true, or if it is, they are doing something wrong with their business. Car dealerships often put 15 - 20% markup added to the cost of what they bought the car for and whatever work done on it, so we didn't believe the margin was only a couple hundred dollars. They tried to convince us that they put ~$14600 into the car, meaning if it dropped to my budget of ~$14500, they'd lose $100+, which they can't afford to do. The manager mentioned he had two kids, like that was relevant?? I believe in fact they'd probably gain $1000+ from the marked up sales price, plus commission. All in all, I was deeply disappointed they wouldn't be transparent and work with me, they tried confusing tactics, and made us feel not valued. More

Their reputation for terrible communication & Customer Service was proven again. Needed to use a dealer for a Honda airbag recall. Tarrytown Honda said 2-3 hours. Many many phone calls later (they don’t Service was proven again. Needed to use a dealer for a Honda airbag recall. Tarrytown Honda said 2-3 hours. Many many phone calls later (they don’t call you back for HOURS) I still didn’t have a car. If they had only called, I wouldn’t be outraged that it’s taking three days to do a 3 hour job. Posted on my local FB page about this to learn that it’s typical for this dealership. They only want to sell you a car, not service it well. My local repair shop calls me within the hour, every time. We were excited to get an Odyssey next, but not after this experience : ( Don’t go here More

I went with my mother and we settled on a monthly lease payment for 12K miles a year based on the deal on their site and our trade-in. I unfortunately was unable to join her the next day for the pick up and signing and they ripped her off, by charging her the same monthly payment we agreed to the previous day but instead for 10K miles a year, which based on their deal should have been much less. They took advantage of an older woman when I was not there. More
