You do all your research and look for that perfect vehicle that financially fits and will last you for a long period. It is a commitment, and you trust in the dealership to offer you’re their best deal and treat you as a true customer. We recently found that perfect vehicle, it was only two years old and had reasonable mileage. We immediately notified Tallahassee Ford online, and by phone when the vehicle was first advertised. This was on a Saturday morning. They informed us the vehicle had just come in the night before and had not gone through their inspection and to call back on Monday. So we waited until Monday called back and completed the credit application to purchase the truck. Received approval as well as received a fair estimate of our trade. We live 2.5 hours away and informed the sales associated we would be there on Tuesday to finalize the deal. We even inquired about putting down a retainer to hold the vehicle. We were politely informed that was not necessary and that Tallahassee Ford does not do that? On Tuesday mid-morning, after taking off work, we leave to purchase the truck. On our way, we called to notify the dealership of our estimated ETA. It is then when we get the following response, “I am sorry but the truck sold after hours last night….” Now fueled with anger and disbelief as to why we ask to speak with the Sales Manager. His response was very limited, unapologetic and only suggested we could purchase a newer more expensive vehicle that just came in. Life’s lessons I guessed, and used car salesman wonder why they are so stereotyped. Very unprofessional and almost unethical, at least provide a courtesy call to let us know it was selling or had been sold. A complete lack of integrity and no resentment for its customer, especially a first-time buyer. Maybe one day, when their son or daughter goes to purchase the first vehicle that they had worked so hard for, and this happens to them, then they may feel this hurt. More
