Nan, our Salesperson, and Momo, Finance Mgr, helped us with our recent purchase (19 Honda Pilot)/trade-in (13 Honda CRV). We found them both very helpful and they helped make it an enjoyable experience. We found Nan to be an advocate for us in what we were looking for in our transaction and felt she treated us fairly. She had the vehicles we identified before our visit ready for us when we arrived to test drive. Momo took us quickly through the documentation portion, explained things clearly and with a good sense of humor. Only issues were amount of time we had to wait to complete the paperwork (only one Finance Mgr on duty on a Sunday afternoon, understandable, not his fault) and the curious dealer policy (not the fault of the Salesperson) of advertising one price on line and then having a mandatory $399 "add-on" for "dents and dings", which we had no choice on-however, we "plead our case" and Nan listened and we reached what we felt was a reasonable compromise; so we felt we were treated well and when all was said and done, made the deal. So, Salesperson and Finance Mgr- 5 stars, dealership- 4 stars ("add on" to sales price not advertised, license, fees, taxes higher than at other dealership we worked with, but did not buy from). More
Mark, the very experienced service technician at Swickard Honda, went to the mat for me with the extended warranty company and got a $1750 job approved even though the warranty expired on 11/10/2020 (7 years Honda, went to the mat for me with the extended warranty company and got a $1750 job approved even though the warranty expired on 11/10/2020 (7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever came first). I had been waiting for 5 months for the ABS Modulator from Honda because Honda manufacturing was shut down due to COVID-19. It was during that time that my warranty expired. Swickard had previously gotten the approval from the warranty company that they would honor the work if I went over 100,000 miles. What we didn’t anticipate was that the warranty would “time-out” because of the 7 year limit. The warranty company waffled. It didn’t make sense that they would approve the work if I went over 100,000 miles, but not if I passed 7 years. Mark was successful in getting their approval—it took several calls. I only paid $125 (for the labor to bleed the brakes and flush them, and the $50 deductible). Swickard really helped me out in a bind; I had lost my job on 11/24/20 and my funds are limited. I’m also super grateful to Jeff Sears in the parts department, who stayed in regular contact with me over the 5 months, giving me updates as to the E.T.A. of the modulator. On 12/30/20 (the day of my appointment), Mark told me that Jeff did a warm hand-off and told him to take good care of me—that I’d waited a long time for the part. That was really sweet. I stopped by to tell Brad Mugg, the G.M. (because he’s so proud of his people) but I learned he was moving out of state. However, I’ve heard his successor has the same great leadership skills and values both the Service Dept. and the Sales Dept., which is brilliant. If you treat the customer right on their Service needs, they will come back for their next car purchase. Swickard Honda has great integrity and I plan to buy my next vehicle there. More
