Over several years, our family has used this Dealership to buy 4, now 5 vehicles. They have been very courteous and helpfull through out our relationship. Recently we had a very stressfull incident invol to buy 4, now 5 vehicles. They have been very courteous and helpfull through out our relationship. Recently we had a very stressfull incident involving one of our vehicles. We were stranded 103 miles from home, towing a trailer. Bill helped us get the disabled vehicle home, loaned us a truck so we could bring our camper home. (This is above and beyond what a person would expect, but not from these guys!) We then bought a vehicle to tow our camper. We can not say enough about this dealership!! Kerry J. Miller Beverly A. Miller More
We recently moved to State College, PA and had only used Sutliff for service on our GMC Sierra and fell in love with them for that alone. We recently purchased a GMC Acadia from them and it was by far the b Sutliff for service on our GMC Sierra and fell in love with them for that alone. We recently purchased a GMC Acadia from them and it was by far the best car buying experience my wife and I have ever had. From the friendly and warm greeting of the receptionist to the final signature, it was perfect. Bill Edmiston was our Sales Consultant and he worked tirelessly to make sure we were completely satisfied with our vehicle purchase. Unlike some vehicle sales consultants, Bill knew all of the ends and outs of the vehicles we were interested in and he made sure to explain everything thoroughly. We appreciated how he took an interest in getting to know us and making our daughters feel welcomed. He made the experience fun for them and they never complained once about wanting to go home. Craig is the General Manager there and we appreciated him reaching out to us and making us feel welcome in the showroom and for being very fair with our trade-ins. He was very personable and made us feel like we had purchased hundreds of vehicles from their lot, even though we are new to the area. Carrie was the financial consultant that worked with us to get rock-bottom financing on the pre-ownded certified Acadia. Her efforts are mostly behind closed doors where few see her, but she deserves a big thank you for working very hard for us. Sutliff GMC went out of their way to make sure we were happy and were upfront about everything (i.e., no hidden fees or shady sales practices). Their standard of customer service should be the envy of all dealerships. Thank you Bill, Craig, and Carrie. More
I just finished reading the six reviews for Sutliff Buick, Cadillac, GMC in State College. Based on a friends recommendation last summer, in early August I decided to stop in at Sutliff to check out Buick, Cadillac, GMC in State College. Based on a friends recommendation last summer, in early August I decided to stop in at Sutliff to check out a new 2010 Buick Enclave. There is little I can add to the six very positive reviews I just read, other than to indicate the deal they offered me also was excellent and included a very good trade in price for my vehicle, along with several very good GM incentives on the Enclave. Sutliff provided an excellent buying experience last August, as well as an excellent ongoing service experience in the increasingly competitive State College car market. I recommend this dealership without reservation! More
The general manager and a very pleasant trainee teamed-up to give us extra-ordinary service as we checked-out a 2004 Honda Odyssey. These two helped us to decide that the car was going to meet our needs wel to give us extra-ordinary service as we checked-out a 2004 Honda Odyssey. These two helped us to decide that the car was going to meet our needs well enough, and with a price near the KBB private party price, we ended our searching and bought it with reasonable confidence. I would not hesitate to shop at Sutliff's again for a budget car or even for a newer vehicle. Both of these salesmen were friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. It was the very first time that we walked onto and left a car dealership that we did not encounter at least one person who was 'slimey'. There was absolutely no fast talking, no pulling the wool over our eyes, no speaking with forked tongues. When the price was worked up for us, it was with the assurance that they were not going to do the $50 haggle back and forth - we were told that we would be presented with their 'best price' and at that point we could simply decide to take it or continue shopping elsewhere. There was no need to move on. We had a good idea what we were shopping for and the car that Sutliff had met those expectations. We were on the lot about 5 hours and never once were we made to feel like we were not welcomed. When we requested some time alone, it was given to us, but not before we were shown the lounge area for drinks and snacks. When we asked questions that these salesmen could not answer with facts already known to them, they took the time to make phone calls to obtain honest, informative answers. We have already told several in our sphere of influence what a positive, clear, honest, genuine experience we had at Sutliff and we will continue to do so. We came to this dealership after hearing similar experiences from people who live in the State College area; however, we were still very skeptical as we have never, in our 34 years of car shopping, been on a lot where we weren't talked down to or where we didn't experience slimey salesmanship - there was absolutely none of this at Sutliff's. We will speak highly of our experience and will remember it when future car needs arise. More

I don't even know how to begin describing the breath of fresh air that Sutliff is in the auto industry. My wife and I drove 8 hours round trip today to buy a factory-certified pre-owned GMC Acadia--the fir fresh air that Sutliff is in the auto industry. My wife and I drove 8 hours round trip today to buy a factory-certified pre-owned GMC Acadia--the first time I have ever bought a "pre-owned" car. And now that we're back home with the vehicle, I can tell you we would have driven twice as far... or further. Truly there is way too much to say about this dealer and this experience, so I will summarize: They are extraordinary. They are genuine, friendly, and genuinely friendly. They are honest, straightforward and decent. From the introductory phone call, to the transaction less than 48 hours later, it was an absolute pleasure, unlike any car buying experience I have ever had (and over the years I have worked with some excellent local dealers). At this dealer, there is not a hint of the stigmatized car buying environment or the clichéd sales approach that people often associate with the process. No doubletalk, no tactics, no "BS." When I first found the car online, I picked up the phone and Craig, the General Manager, stayed after hours to speak with me at length, as if he had nothing but time to help me--past nine in the evening, an hour after his dealership closed and his last employee had left. We had a very open and easy discussion about the car we were considering, our trade-in, and what we could both realistically expect. By the end of the first conversation I felt absolutely comfortable getting in the car and driving to another state, confident that there would be none of the frustrating and often deal-breaking surprises that seem to be inevitable when buying a car. The only surprises were good ones: A sign at the front desk welcoming us by name. Smiling, pleasant and patient people everywhere. A fair price for an immaculate vehicle that was *exactly* as represented online and on the phone. A fair offer on our trade. No haggling because there was no need to. From the time we pulled up to the lot, to the time we shook hands over a cup of coffee, was about 20 very pleasant minutes, maybe less. After we worked out the deal with Craig, the paperwork was done in a fast, efficient transaction handled by Carrie--another flawlessly nice and "real" person. Nobody barged in to pull us into a cubicle to push car loans, rustproofing, or anything else on us. If anyone interrupted it was only to ask if we needed coffee, water or soda. Craig then spent time going through the car with us to the last detail--again, as if he had all the time in the world and was there just for us today. I (almost) think he would have ridden back home with us if he felt that would have made us even happier. My wife and I spent the entire drive home in her fantastic, like-new SUV remarking on how extraordinary this dealer and its people are. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that I would do it again--in fact, I'd buy a car from Craig and his team and send them a check, sight-unseen, without hesitation--and I think that says it all. Until 2 days ago I had never heard of this 80 year-old dealership a couple-hundred miles south of us. Now I am its biggest fan. If you are looking for anything Sutliff sells, you really shouldn't and needn't look further. A class act. The way business should be done. More
Craig and the whole staff at Sutliff were extremely accomodating and friendly. We purchased a used Cadillac Escalade and we could not be happier. The service team is always friendly and upbeat as well. accomodating and friendly. We purchased a used Cadillac Escalade and we could not be happier. The service team is always friendly and upbeat as well. We highly reccommend this dealership for both new and used vehicles. Where else are you going to go for service and everytime, your car gets washed, and you get mints on your seat :-) It's the extra little added touches that make it stand out from the rest. Their waiting area is also very kid friendly, which is a huge bonus when you are looking to keep the kiddos occupied while you chat or wait for your service to finish. Thanks gang! More
