I can't believe all of these "Classic Bait and Switch" theories!!! I too got an internet quote (they were the best from the start). I called the store because I saw that my quote was only good for Switch" theories!!! I too got an internet quote (they were the best from the start). I called the store because I saw that my quote was only good for 72 hours, but Dan said they would honor the quote if I came in by the end of the week. (it was Thursday). Once there I was greeted quickly and professionally. I went through the normal motions of looking for the right color combo, test driving, and getting my trade appraised. Once that was all done Dan came back from the Sales Managers office with the original price quote and the price for my trade. I wanted more for my trade so I decided to sell it privately (that's the best way to get the most for my trade). At no point did he say no I need you to trade it for that price or you have to trade the car in to get your price. He actually said "That's great I want you to get the most money, your trade is not a point of profit to me" So guess what, I bought the car for the price I was given and I've been as happy as can be. Sold my car about two weeks later. I just wish people wouldn't say "Bait and Switch" unless it is a "Bait and Switch" (n) bait and switch (a deceptive way of selling that involves advertising a product at a very low price or something that doesn't exist in order to attract customers who are then persuaded to switch to a more expensive product) More
Classic Bait and Switch Con artist. Got an Internet quote....called to double check and see if they would honor it. They said sure. Got the the dealership and had my car appraised. Already had it a quote....called to double check and see if they would honor it. They said sure. Got the the dealership and had my car appraised. Already had it appraised from two other dealerships....both came back with the same number. John cam back and said my quote was too high. Told him to look it up in KBB and Edmunds. He didn't like that....."KBB doesn't buy cars"....I said I know but they tell the public how much the value of a trade in is within range...He said that KBB and Edmunds are wrong. Joh was trying to make up the difference on the Internet quote with a low ball trade in-value. Con artists posing as salespeople. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP!......TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF More
My family and I came into Sussman this morning hoping to find a good, reliable car for a good price. From the moment we walked into Sussman to the moment we walked out, we were treated so wonderfully from find a good, reliable car for a good price. From the moment we walked into Sussman to the moment we walked out, we were treated so wonderfully from all the employees. Dan was very helpful and professional & did everything he could to get us the best deal. He really knows a lot about the cars and gave his best opinion on which would be the best option for my family and I. I never went to a car dealership like this, and now i'm an owner of a brand new car all thanks to Dan!!! More
I'm baffled by these negative reviews, as I have purchased and leased 2 Acuras from Sussman(2012 RDX and 2012 TSX SE) in the past 5 months and had a great experience both times. I dealt with salesp purchased and leased 2 Acuras from Sussman(2012 RDX and 2012 TSX SE) in the past 5 months and had a great experience both times. I dealt with salesperson Howard Leopold for both, and he could not have been more upfront and fair in pricing, as well as being very friendly and professional. He called several days after both transactions to make sure we were happy and to make sure we did not have any questions. Tim Baum, the business manager was also friendly, professional, and not pushy in the slightest. There were absolutely no problems throughout the entire process, from the price offered on trade to final delivery of the vehicles. Both cars, while new cars, were extremely well detailed (and I'm a neat freak) and came with full tanks of gas. I would highly recommend Sussman Acura, and I feel that the experiences I had and the treatment I received was the best of the now 7 car dealerships I've dealt with throughout my life. More
Vehicle was described as "like new" condition and was Acura Certified. I was told that the vehicle had no damage and was in excellent shape. Upon arrival I found that the passenger door, fender and was Acura Certified. I was told that the vehicle had no damage and was in excellent shape. Upon arrival I found that the passenger door, fender and hood had been repainted (very poorly). The passenger door was full of broken glass - some of which fell out when I closed the door. The interior of the vehicle was in very poor condition including a strong smell of urine and scratches, cuts and marks on nearly every surface. Howard Leopold (sales person) told me that he felt the car was in excellent condition and that we just had a difference of opinion. He also denied mis-representing the vehicle prior to my visit. The General Manager (Chuck/Charles) told me that the vehicle has a clean car fax report and that was enough for them to say it had never been in an accident. He would not acknowledge the broken glass or other damage. In return he offered to sell me a brand new Acura for $15k more than the vehicle I originally wanted to look at. Bait and switch in other words. I have purchased three Certified-Used Acura's in the past from other dealerships. All have been in excellent condition and have served me well. Sussman Acura clearly has serious ethical issues. Acura needs to take a serious look at this dealership and decide if they want this type of operation to reflect their brand. The experience is reflective of many others that I have since found online. I highly recommend avoiding Sussman Acura or any of their other businesses. More
Buyer beware. Marisa is the internet sales person and she would give a quote with no expiry date. We got a quote for a new MDX on a Tuesday. It looked like a good price. Went to the dealer the same Saturday. would give a quote with no expiry date. We got a quote for a new MDX on a Tuesday. It looked like a good price. Went to the dealer the same Saturday. She was not there. Looked around the store. Met Howard. He just said 'Hi', did not even shake hands or asked us to take a seat. Told him why we were there and what was said in the email. He said yes, i see that and went to talk to the current sales manager. Came back and said, cant do it for that price, and that the sales manager has the final say. Classic bait and switch tactic. He did not even have our car in stock and he wanted way higher than their own quote. Don't ever go there. Worst dealership for Acura. They don't honor their own quote. More
Worst experience I ever had with a car dealership. Was given a price for a lease with certain options, etc. Next day I was told the deal was "impossible" and that the salesman made a mistake. Really fee given a price for a lease with certain options, etc. Next day I was told the deal was "impossible" and that the salesman made a mistake. Really feel like I was lied to and that they pulled the old bait and switch. I would not recommend this place to anyone. More
I purchased a 'certified' Acura TL from this dealership last month. I was promised the following upon purchasing my vehicle: Rear bumper replaced New carpets and floor mats A working valet key and remo last month. I was promised the following upon purchasing my vehicle: Rear bumper replaced New carpets and floor mats A working valet key and remote Certified warranty manual and maintenance journal Some of these things are basic to a 'certified' vehicle. Not only were these things never done, but it was the way I was treated and the outright lies told to me by the salesman, Paulo Estudante. Initially, they tried to pass the car off to me with none of these repairs done and shoddy touch up work on the bumper. The car wasn't even detailed as they claimed. I know what a detailed vehicle looks like. I was promised a new bumper only to find the bumper had been repaired, not replaced and they persisted in telling me I had a new bumper until I actually looked at it and saw it was not a new bumper. Their excuse was a misunderstanding between the salesman and the body shop and that the salesman thought the body shop meant new not 'like new'. At this point, I had been to the dealership 4 times just to get my vehicle in promised 'certified condition'. I was regretting having ever a purchased a vehicle from them and explained what happened to an assistant manager and the GM, Mark Mattera. I was hoping to get some help but he (like his salesman)could care less about me and said,'we're not replacing your bumper; we're not doing anything for you' and walked away. I have since taken this situation up with the Acura Corporation who is investigating the situation and trying to help me get these issues resolved. I have also reported the deelership to the Better Business Bureau. The dealership has promised the Acura Corporation customer service that they would be calling me to resolve, but it is going on 3 weeks and I have not been contacted. To sum things up, it has been a nightmare doing business with this dealership. I have bought several vehicles from several dealerships in the 25 years that I have been driving and I have never been treated like this. They are dishonest and could care less about their customers. My impression is that they are only about $$$ and getting you out of the door asap once the vehicle is sold and could care less about the quality of the product they are giving you. The will tell outright lies to get you to buy a vehicle. DO NOT TRUST THEM. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING - EVEN IF THEY CLAIM THE VEHICLE IS CERTIFIED. Additionally, check your odometer reading on your odometer disclosure statement. That was incorrect also. Tire protection($495)was also added to my vehicle as part of my financing without my knowledge. They have since issued me a refund check, but as a warning, double check your financing paperwork. They are a horrible representation of Acura automobiles. DO NOT buy a vehicle from this dealership. More
