I started looking for a car in October, when I had a month left on my then-current Nissan Altima lease. I contacted Suntrup VW (among other local dealerships) through their website and was contacted by month left on my then-current Nissan Altima lease. A day later he sent a email with a video introducing himself to put a "face to the name" and to set up an appointment. On my first visit Sean analyzed my wants & needs in a new car (from performance, exterior/interior color, trim, gas mileage, etc.) and what I could realistically afford. He narrowed the results down and we test drove two cars (Jetta SE & Jetta GLI). We test drove both cars and then talked numbers. I had no intention on purchasing a new car on my first visit, however if the numbers worked I was open to the option. We went back and forth a couple of times and after a failed attempt by the manager to explain certain costs and fees I went home in my Altima. I was not impressed by the manager - he did not formally introduce himself as the manager or give me his name, he just entered the conversation talking about a it being a good car and a good deal, then dodged answering some of my questions. Over the next few weeks Sean kept in touch via email and text, but was never once bothersome. The Monday of the last week in November Sean contacted me again and suggested I come in to try and work out the deal. When I arrived he had the Jetta GLI out front waiting for me to test drive a second time. After the test drive we talked numbers & the offer was significantly lower than the initial offer a few weeks before. We continued the negotiation process and Sean worked for me to arrive at the desired price & terms. While the financing staff was preparing the paperwork, Sean showed me how the vehicle works (stereo, lights, seats, heat/ac, set up blue tooth for me, etc.), schedule a 1 month check up, and had the service dept. prepare the car for me to take it home. Since it was the end of the month, everyone from top to bottom was busy and the car was not quite ready, so I decided to come back that evening to pick the car up. When I arrived that night around 8pm, Sean had gone home for the night but another sales rep. gave me the keys and offered to show me how to operate everything on the car. I notified him that Sean had gone through all of that with me, but I am impressed that a sales rep who did not even sell the car ( or receive the commission) was willing to explain the car's functions to me. The next day I noticed that the car still had some of the original wrapping glue on the lights and in the trunk and notified Sean. He said I could bring the car back to the dealership to get it taken care of, but I told him we would have it done at the 1 month check up instead. A day later I received a call from the financing dept. and was notified that the paperwork was not done correctly and that I needed to come back in to resign some things. Since it was the holidays, the Suntrup VW financing manager was on vacation, and we had to do the paperwork through Suntrup Nissan (which is next door and the same dealership where I leased the Altima). When I came in to sign the papers, the financing manager was not in his office and I had to wait 15 minutes until another financing manager was available. It took less than a minute to sign and receive the new paperwork. I had my 1 month check up last week and the service dept. cleaned up the plastic wrapping in the trunk and on the lights. I have been using them for the previous 3 years on the Altima and was already familiar with their timely and friendly service. Overall, it was a great experience. Sean was a superior sales rep, exhibiting great & personable customer service. He knew the product he was selling and how to deal with a thorough customer. He has been there to answer any questions during and after the negotiation process and has been happy to assist me post-sale. I did have a few issues during the process (plastic on lights & in trunk, having to return to re-sign paperwork, & the manager not as formal as I would have expected), however Sean's exceptional customer service is what stands out most. I'll gladly refer anyone in the market for a new car to Sean, knowing that they will be dealt with appropriately and respectfully. More
I visited 2 different dealers before visiting Suntrup where I purchased my Volkswagen Passat. The salesperson at the first Volkswagen dealership was quite unfriendly and did not seem very helpful. I decided to buy the Passat because it had everything that I was looking for in a new car but I postponed the purchase until Monday, December the 30th. I went on the VW website and looked up all the dealers in the St Louis area and I compared the prices. Suntrup had the Passat in the color that I wanted and in my price range so I decided to call Suntrup. I am glad that I chose Suntrup and I am got to work with Adam. Adam was easy to talk to, very professional, answered all my questions, explained the various options, such as leasing a vehicle versus purchasing it with financing and the cash option. I did not feel pressured to buy but I did purchase the vehicle on Monday because I I felt that I got a very good deal. I got a very good interest rate too and decided to take the VW financing. Would I recommend Suntrup VW to my friends and family? I most certainly will, the sales people are all very friendly, Beau who worked out the financing was not intimidating and the owner of the dealership stopped by to congratulate us on our purchase. I put my Passat to the test yesterday, I drove my car on OliveSt and 170 which was not cleared from the storm we had on New Years Day and it was such a smooth drive. This is my first VW and I am loving it!! More

Buying a new car can be a stressful situation, but my experience with Adam Goldfeder at Suntrup made it worth every minute. Adam was extremely knowledgeable and his assistance proved to be invaluable. He went out of his way to ensure we got the best pricing and were satisfied with what we were getting. Suntrup in St Loius advertised the lowest price on a Jetta GLI which led me to Mr Sean Riches. Sean's manner was always personable and professional resulting in a smooth negotiation and purchase. He arranged delivery/ transport within a week at a reasonable rate and excelled at post-sales follow-up and assistance. The finance manager Beau also ensured the paperwork was expedited to Tampa in a prepaid return FEDEX, which was a nice business touch. So far there isn't anything not to like about my experience with the Suntrup Team. Highly recommended! More
For the first time in my experience, I truly feel like we got a good and fair deal on our car purchase. I came in to test drive a 2014 VW Passat TDI after doing a lot of research online and was treated very well by the whole Suntrup team. I went into Volkswagen to look at the possibility of leasing a Jetta. Adam was extremely knowledgeable about each of the options and was very accommodating as I have less than perfect credit and I'm pic leasing a Jetta. His knowledgeable assistance was invaluable. He opened my eyes to the benefits of leasing, which had not been on my radar when I started my car search. At the dealership, Adela was pleasant, helpful and patient. I test drove the car twice and also compared it to another trim level. I had an endless stream of questions, which she answered to my satisfaction. Buying/leasing a new car is a major decision and requires a significant deliberation and calculation of all the elements involved in the transaction. And Suntrup's staff made this process as smooth and comfortable as possible. I'm confident I made the right decision and I'm happy I came back to Suntrup. More
