Suntrup VW has been, by far, the worst service center with which I have ever dealt. I bouth a new Jetta in fall of 2005 and experienced continual problems. Their service center would continually tell m with which I have ever dealt. I bouth a new Jetta in fall of 2005 and experienced continual problems. Their service center would continually tell me that the grinding, metal-on-metal sound I heard (within the first 15,000 miles) was my imagination. After my FOURTH trip in for inspection, I finally got a summer mechanic intern who determined that my original rotor was faulty and my rear brake pads had been completely worn through. I was not offered any compensation for my troubles, multiple hours spent waiting at the service center, etc. and actually had to fight for over 30 minutes to get my rental car paid for when they finally admitted there was something wrong and it would take 2 days to fix and I told them it was not reasonable to expect me to be without a car for this long after I had already brought it in four times prior. I got my oil changed at their service center four times - all with appointments - and decided to settle with a Jiffy Lube when my average wait (again, I always had an appointment) would be over 2 hours. I never once received an apology for the wait while I was there; however they were RELIGIOUS about calling me the day after my maintenance to make sure that if the "national VW survey database" calls or emails regarding my experience, I make sure to give them a good rating. Huh?!? They DO do a phenomenal job of sending you coupons in the mail for your next oil change. . .ones that are only good for 1 month and are sent immediately after your last visit at which you just got your oil changed. Perhaps it's not that they are trying to make themselves look good. Perhaps they really DO think I drive 5000 miles in 30 days. I mean, based on everything stated above, shouldn't we give them the benefit of the doubt? Regardless, I would discourage anyone from buying from Suntrup Volkswagen. I have had so many other issues with my car that my mom has told me to stick it outside their lot and cover it with lemons. I am sad, however, as I have had four cars prior to the Jetta and have had phenomenal quality (car) and service (people). . .it's too bad I'm stuck with this one for a couple more years. Thankfully (well, not really), my warranty has expired so I no longer have to deal with Suntrup Volkswagen. More
Charged for coolant flush that was not performed, looked at the receipt and found that no materials for performing coolant flush were on the receipt, the service technician who worked on my car confirmed t at the receipt and found that no materials for performing coolant flush were on the receipt, the service technician who worked on my car confirmed that service was not performed, they finally refunded money for work that was not performed after 2 weeks. Have reason to believe CV boots for the car were clipped using a clipper. Will never go back there. More
My daughter bought a 2006 Jetta that developed a major oil leak after 13 mos. I brought the car in to Suntrup VW service on a Tuesday night and they hadn't looked at it by Friday. On Friday, they told m oil leak after 13 mos. I brought the car in to Suntrup VW service on a Tuesday night and they hadn't looked at it by Friday. On Friday, they told me that they wouldn't be able to look at it for another week and to pick it up. I told them to keep the car and demanded a rental car. They told me to come down and pick up the rental car, but when I got down there (45 mins away), they put my car up on the rack and found the source of the leak (or so I thought). They said that it would be okay to drive the car while they ordered parts. I did (foolish me). Long story short, it's been five weeks and twice a week trips to the dealership and they have still not fixed my car. They have now replaced an oil filter flange, a thermostat and a cellenoid. I have to constantly fight for a rental car. They lie to me each time I go down there. Don't buy a car from Suntrup VW and don't bring your car there for service. More

I bought my Jetta from these guys about 9 years ago. I had to take the car back to them to have it serviced. At that time I had a high end stereo system in the car, no decals, rims etc. There was no way had to take the car back to them to have it serviced. At that time I had a high end stereo system in the car, no decals, rims etc. There was no way in looking at the car that you could tell it had a stereo system in it. Well, several days later I get a call from the St. Louis Police Dept telling me my car had been broken in to. This was a total inside job and I didn't get one bit of sympathy from the dealership. The vandals had cut themselves on the glass and bled all over the interior of the car, windows busted out etc. More
