Suntrup Nissan - Service Center

The first time I have ever been told by a dealership of my vehicle’s manufacturer, that they will not service the vehicle because it had over 100k miles and I did not purchase the vehicle from their dealer my vehicle’s manufacturer, that they will not service the vehicle because it had over 100k miles and I did not purchase the vehicle from their dealership. I had done business with the Suntrup VW parts department in the past, but never with the Service department. I called and scheduled their next available appointment in two weeks. The the very courteous woman gathered all the information for me and my vehicle since Suntrup VW had not serviced my vehicle in the past. I waited 2 weeks for the appointment for my 2009 VW Rabbit with 136k miles. When I dropped the vehicle off, I was told they would be able to perform the state inspection, but the other diagnostic service that was scheduled would not be performed due to the mileage of the vehicle above 100k and because this Volkswagen was not purchased from their dealership. With the number of computers and specialized tools required to work on Volkswagen vehicles, it is a very surprising stance for a dealership to not service vehicles manufactured by the same company that it sells for. It is even worse to not disclose this two weeks prior at the time the appointment was created. I felt sorry for my Service Advisor for having to convey his management’s policy to me. Ian did an excellent job, and even went to talk to his manager to see if an exception could be made and the agreed upon diagnostic service could be fulfilled. The Service Manager denied my request to pay them $170 to diagnose an issue I was having with the vehicle. The Service Manager also failed to return my telephone inquiry for further details on their policies. I will never purchase or have any of my vehicles serviced at a Suntrup owned dealership in the future. More

Very nice to me via text, but disrespectful to my wife when she brought the car in. Gave her dirty looks.
