What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia South, Suntrup Hyundai in South County, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

The whole experience was wonderful. There is a lot of anxiety that comes with a big purchase like this. The whole team made it a breeze though. Sam was patient and kind when I test drove about a million cars. Let me take my time while I picked the perfect vehicle. And answered all my questions. Moe helped my family when we were making the switch to a van family. He was very knowledgeable about the Kia Carnival. I came in with many questions and he was able to clearly tell us the difference b a van family. He was very knowledgeable about the Kia Carnival. I came in with many questions and he was able to clearly tell us the difference between all the different trim levels. He was never pushy with us either. Always very kind. And at the end of the day, Moe was able to get us the best deal for our new 2025 kia carnival. He also spent about 30 minutes afterwards in the car with me showing me all the different features and what they mean. He helped me customize it just the way I wanted. Then a few days later when I forgot how to do something with a feature, he still took the time to show me. More
