What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia, Suntrup Hyundai, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

I recently purchased a 2024 Kia Sorento, and my experience with the salesperson, Aida, was exceptional. The car I had inquired about over the phone was sold to someone else as I pulled into the par experience with the salesperson, Aida, was exceptional. The car I had inquired about over the phone was sold to someone else as I pulled into the parking lot. Aida was able to quickly find the same model car immediately. Although it was a different trim level, it checked all of the boxes and I’m really happy with the one I purchased. Her customer service was outstanding; she was not only attentive and patient in addressing my questions but also highly responsive to my specific needs. Her communication skills were top-notch, making the complex purchasing and financing process stress free. Also, Suntrup Kia gave a fair value for my trade in. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and approachable, especially Russ! Thank you for your assistance and explanation of all the paperwork. My overall experience and satisfaction with Aida and Suntrup was awesome, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a new car. More
