Car shopping at Suntrup Hyundai I was pouring money into a used car to have it fixed every other month or so. I just couldn't rationalize keeping this car. We have not had a new car in many years, which means we did not have a car payment in many years. But I was done with my used car. (We have another, more dependable, used car). I investigated various makes and models of new cars online for their safety, reliability and price. I decided I wanted to test drive a Hyundai Accent. Salesman Brad Slinkard introduced himself online when I inquired about Suntrup on their web page. He also met us at the dealership when we arrived on Friday night, Sep 6. Brad was very friendly and personable. I knew he wanted to sell me a car. But I had a lot of questions and concerns before I was ready to commit to this. Brad answered all of these and did not rush the deal. He knew I had hesitation. I believe there was also a salesperson by the name of Kyle Ketcherside who was helping us with the deal. When I was haggling over the price, Brad reminded me of the Accent with standard transmission that would be about $2k less than the auto trans we had test driven. I was sold on the price and the car with the standard transmission. Brad had the right balance of covering my concerns and questions and still closing the sale. If he had pushed me I would not have purchased the car. But he helped my wife and me understand the reasoning behind his recommendations and in the front of my mind I was the owner of a used car I had poured thousands of dollars into over the years. Brad "Coach" Slinkard earned my allegiance with his patience, kindness and salesman saavy. I believe your motto of not selling me a car but building relationships is true!
