This was the second certified used vehicle (Toyota Corolla) we purchased from Sunshine and Chip helped us both times. I had already done my shopping on the internet, looking at dealer websites, Cars.com and checking Edmunds.com to get an idea of what the market value was for each car I looked at. I like to haggle because it's what I'm used to doing when I buy a car but the reality was, the car at Sunshine was already priced slightly below market value and had very low mileage.The price was great, the warranty is great, the financing was great with low interest and Chip had the car washed, gas tank filled and the heat turned on when we got the keys. I recommend Chip if you want to buy a certified used Toyota. Sunshine's service dept. is great too and I received a free oil change! Life is good. More

We went in looking for a used Toyota Corolla that we found on line. After test driving a couple of older models and comparing prices with the old versus the new and the difference in the ride itself we found on line. I have a preconception of car dealerships being unpleasant places to visit. Experiences with several other dealerships left me feeling pressured, disrespected and even bullied. The dealership in my hometown seemed to be fueled by machismo and cliché. To be clear, I am not a high-maintenance type. I don't go to a dealership to make friends or to have my ego stroked. I'm just a regular working guy looking to get a few questions answered, buy a vehicle I can afford, and go on with my life. Sunshine Toyota in Battle Creek had a good selection of reasonably priced, low-mile Priuses. So I took a half day off work and went there. I comfortably browsed the lot for 5-10 minutes without being mobbed by salesmen. When I approached the office, Bob Surprenant stepped outside to greet me. When I asked questions, Bob answered them directly and honestly. He gave me his perspective on the vehicles I was interested in, sharing pertinent points to consider and anecdotal evidence based on his experience. Bob seemed content with letting me take the time I needed to evaluate and test drive some vehicles. This made it a lot easier for me to sift through all the comparisons of mileage, price and options. When I had questions regarding price, Bob got the answers for me. This is in contrast to the dealership in my home town, where I got handed off to a different person every time I had a question about the money side of things. I liked the continuity of dealing with one person. I finally decided on a car, and Bob helped my insurance agency get the policy document faxed over to the dealership. It was not until the very last step, when I actually signed the check that I had to talk to the "finance" guy. And for the record, Dennis (the finance guy) was straightforward and businesslike - no patronizing, no muss, no fuss. I recognize that everyone is different, and some people want different things when shopping for a car. If car dealers were cups of coffee, I would rank Sunshine Toyota as a good cup of regular ol' joe. Good vehicles sold in a comfortable atmosphere by down-to-earth people. If you like that kind of experience, I believe you will find Sunshine Toyota satisfactory. More

Jim was exceedingly helpful from the moment I contacted him by phone. He set up an appointment, even though close to closing time, to take a test run. In this Jim stood out from other sales experiences I've had at various dealerships in the past. Truly, this approach is the key to a successful sale -- I had no intention of shopping elsewhere. Jim was also one of the most amiable and friendly people I've had to do business with, nothing was too much trouble. He was punctual for our sales appointment (after the previous evening test drive) and mananged to have all the paperwork done, plates, registration, and insurance, so that I was able to drive home the same day.
