Thank you for your comments. I am sorry we fell short of your expectations and that you were inconvenienced. As you are aware, the Service Department at Sunset Ford of Sumner was temporarily closed down last week for two days out of an overabundance of caution for employee and customer safety & wellbeing. An employee was found to be in close contact with a person who tested positive with COVID-19, however this employee does not have any direct contact with customers. Nevertheless, a decision was made to temporarily close the service facility to disinfect with an antimicrobial treatment. At the same time 100% of our staff was tested for the virus. Sunset will always error on the side of caution and safety for our customers and our staff. All customers with service appointments during the 48 hour period were contacted directly through several mediums, informed of the precautionary temporary closure, and of the steps being taking for everyone’s safety. Phil Michell and The Sunset Auto Family continues to be an industry leader in the fight to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our company policies and procedures are far more stringent than those required by the state. Again, it is for this reason all employees were tested at the store and we deep cleaned every inch of the service and parts department with a highly rated hospital grade antimicrobial disinfectant. We could not have taken the time to perform this cautionary cleaning with vehicles and employees working. If you were not contacted by anyone from the dealership, it was not for a lack of effort on our part. Customers who (for whatever reason) did not receive the notification by phone, text, email etc. and arrived for their scheduled service appointment were quickly redirected to Sunset Chevrolet and were given top priority. The inconvenience should have been minimal….at least that was our goal. If you have suggestions as to how we could have done better, please contact me directly at wecare@sunsetautofamily.com.
