Had a check engine light come on several times, I have means to check it and found to be bad thermostats. I contact Sunset to see how much for them to fix it and they advised that I had extended warranty means to check it and found to be bad thermostats. Drop truck off, gave them the scanned code I found and the diagnosis for the problem. Get back to work and get a call from Sunset that said they diagnosis was bad thermostats. (Duh) Anyways they said it wasn't covered under my warranty and said cost to repair would be $700 plus. Was blown away and asked for breakdown of charges. He said $135 for diagnosis, $140 something for the thermostats, which I bought at Napa for $35.00 cause was going to do it myself until I was told would be covered under warranty. Yes he gave me option to pick it up and do myself but it was already there so said to go ahead and he gave me small discount, think final bill was $644. Personally I would be totally embarrassed to charge someone that much to replace the thermostats. Other issue was I set up a ride back to work with Sunset, they couldn't get address to come up online with Lync so wanted to have me go through Enterprise Rental for a 10 mile trip. I pulled up Uber and had no problem finding my work address. Work was completed in timely manner and seems to be good, but cost compared to what I was told is just a total xxxx of a returning customer. More

I just received my vehicle back after Sunset had it for SIX weeks doing repairs. We bought from Sunset because of the warranty, and fortunately because of the warranty, it covered 6k or costs associated wi SIX weeks doing repairs. However, 6 weeks is a long time to not have your family vehicle. After several times of calling and trying to figure out the delay, we were very frustrated and debating on not going back for further vehicle purchases. There always seemed to be some excuse and delay after delay. I have never ever had a car take so long to be worked on. Not happy with the time frame and lack of urgency on their end to get our vehicle back to us. We have purchased several cars from Sunset but I don’t know how likely I am to go back. More

About a ten minute wait time. The oil change was done in 45 minutes—initially estimated a hour. Didn’t check brake linings! Why? We dropped off our car on Friday evening for a 50k service and replacement of the third brake light. We didn’t receive a call that the service was done until 4:00 pm. An hour before they closed. They said that the service was done however they were not able to replace the brake light. And we should try to find the part online because it was cheeper and they did not have the part. While I appreciate the gesture to help save money, the fact that they had no regard for reaching out earlier in the day is very upsetting to say the least. I may have been able to get the light to them in time to do the repair and my car would be back together. just seems like a major waste of time from both the mine, and the dealerships perspective.
