Horrible Service Dept. Took my car in due to check engine light and passenger front tire sensor not working. Car is 2012 with 55k miles with an extended warranty. I had Less Took my car in due to check engine light and passenger front tire sensor not working. Car is 2012 with 55k miles with an extended warranty. I had Less Schwab change the tire sensor on the driver front and had the check engine light code checked at an auto parts store. The check engine light code showed something with emissions (likely a bad gas cap). I took it to Sunset Chevrolet for repairs. Dropped car off at 7am on a Thursday, and was called at 3pm with a quote of over $1000 for repairs. I was told something within the gas tank needed to be replaced, coolant hose was leaking, and both front tire sensors were bad. Funny how extended warranty extended to none of the repairs. I told the person I already had the driver front tire sensor replaced less than 2 months prior to visit and they said to take it back because it was bad. The car was ready the following day at 4pm. I picked up the car at 7pm on Friday (after work). The charge was $800+. The passenger front tire sensor was still not working, so I went back into the service department and inquired as to what was going on. A mechanic came out to try to get the sensor to "re learn" the tire pressure, this didn't work. The mechanic did notice that all of my tires that were registering were registering with low air, so he filled the air (why wasn't this done originally). They scheduled me to come back on Monday at 10am. I took the car back on Monday and was told they would look at the car, check my warranty, and let me know what cost I would be facing. I told the service man there would be no cost, I already paid for the service. He said he was unaware but if I already paid it would show up later. I was called within an hour letting me know the car was ready. There was no charge and the tire sensor was working. More than two days of being in service, $800+, bullcrap extended warranty, and sssllllooooww service. I will never be back to this dealership. More
Do not purchase Sunset extended warranty! We were told by finance extended warranty will cover bumper to bumper. Issue #1: Alternator failing less than 2 weeks from buying the vehicle and was told manager would contact me to work something out. Have checked back several times in the past month but still no follow up. We finally ended up having replace locally which cost is $589.16. Issue #2: I have not received signed copies of our purchase after mailing back all the signed papers (we had to mail since my wife was not there at time of purchase and she needed to sign as well). Was told copies would be mailed back after we returned them. Never received. Issue #3: Was promised the vehicle would come with a full tank of gas as part of the sale. Sale took longer to wrap up than expected and were in hurry to get home (2 hours away) and didn’t notice car had on 1/8 tank after 15 minutes away. We didn’t have time to go back so filled up costing $62.67 to fill up. Called sunset on way home and was told would send me gas card. Never received. Issue #4: Was promised sunset would mail a paint pen to repair a large chip in the paint on the door molding that wasn’t in the advertised pictures which happened in detailing before we arrived. Never received. Issue #5: Windshield leaks water on to passenger floor when rains. Issue #6: headlights randomly turned on at 3am and drained battery. The only thing that I noticed was a chemical spillage on the right fender three streaks, and look like a smeared cleaning on the driver side fender, I was offered a free car wash coupon, which I gladly appreciate it although I did not realize the streaks and smeared area on the fender at the time, thank you for service still recommend your facility and I and I appreciate your service curious More
