Do not buy a lifted truck from here unitl you read this So I hate to write bad reviews. But I have to write this one so I can save others from the nightmare that I have gone through. I will be as short and So I hate to write bad reviews. But I have to write this one so I can save others from the nightmare that I have gone through. I will be as short and direct as I can be. First, I came in and traded my 2013 Jeep wrangler ( first mistake) for a used 2013 Dodge Ram Texas long horn mega cab Laramie 2500. This truck was impressive. 60,000 dollars impressive. Had all the toys, 6" lift kit, 35's, aftermarket iron cross front and rear bumper , 12k lb winch. LED light bars. AMAZING truck. So to being my nightmare. I have lifted trucks and jeeps and other vehicles. I know the headaches they can cause for maintenance and warranties. this was not my first rodeo. I made it very clear from the moment I sat down with the sales rep and the finance manager that I wanted the truck - but - I wanted to make sure it had a warranty for the lift. they offer an Extended warranty from a company called "CORNER STONE" and when they sold me this - this is what I was told. the warranty protects the truck 100% engine, trans, you name it - covered. I asked does it include the lift kit because I know the headaches they cause for maintenance and also warranty issues and the finance manager MARRISA TINKERSLEY said yes the extended coverage covers the lift, she even pulled up the contract and showed me the section that is labeled " lifted" to add the coverage and she explained that this is the contract they offer for lifted trucks to also protect the lift kit. so after that , I agreed. no brainer right? I mean it added 5,000 more to the cost of the vehicle but it was worth it. or so I thought. about 6 months go by and I bring the truck in for some check ups - I had some weird issues with the truck and the techs say the truck is fine - another year goes by I bring the truck in to this dealership again or the same thing, weird issues ( rough sound, tough suspension, transmission issues etc) I get my truck back they say its fine. so another 6 months go by and I go to a DODGE dealership and man o man the nightmare starts... dodge finds a TON of problems, and they find issues that were pretty old from what their techs had to say - so I bring the truck back to this chevy dealership to get help. my lift kit is mangled and I need to have other work done to it to check the transmission - well they refuse to help me because why? … well they cant fix lift kits . so they tell me to use my warranty - but I am told that I may as well buy a new lift kit because the warranty company WONT FIX MY KIT. …. the very same warranty that I was told does cover my lift DOES NOT and this is told to me by ROBERT the manager in service. I was given three options. FIX it out of pocket. Keep it unitl it fully breaks and hope my car insurance covers it OR trade it and get out of it complete and take the deficit …. not joke. this is what I am told to me face. well fast forward and here I am 2 years later after this headache with this Chevy dealership now with a busted lift kit from faulty shock towers that failed and snapped - and I mean snapped off. I contact the warranty company and they tell me to have my truck inspected by another servicer and inspected by their appraiser. I play this game - I find a shop willing to work on my truck and I wait a couple of weeks to have an appraiser from the contract company to come out and they send my paper work in . so far the total is about 5-7,000 bucks of work to be done. and that does not include my engine, transmission, or steering system that needs to be looked at yet. this is just the lift kit CORNER STONE calls me back and to put it straight I am S**T out of luck and my claim is denied. why? because my truck is LIFTED and the contract DOES NOT cover the lift.... it only ALLOWS you to have a lift on the truck and not void any other maintenance to OEM parts like it normally would. THIS WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME or shown to me when I purchased the contract and my exact questions were if this contract covers the repairs of a lift.... MARRISA TINKERSLY sold this contract to me under false representation and lied to me as a consumer - even showed me the contract and presented the contract in a manner that would lead a consumer to believe that the trucks lift kit is covered. Corner stone said they are not liable for a company that misrepresents their product. understand that. this dealship has been bery unhelpful. the only thing they did was take my truck in for a couple of days ( after i brought it in to them 2 previous tiems for this issue) to do a better inspection and give me a loaner truck for 3 days - great job .... Long story short. if you buy a modified vehicle DONT unless you get a better description of what contrac you obtain. i was lied to on the true coverage and now i have a badly damaged truck and i have to foot the bill of over 7,000 dollars to have it fixed. i would give them a 1 star but they helped me a little bit so i give them 2. good luck - but go to a better dealship. i spent 60,000 on an amazing truck that is now a nightmare. do not do what i did. Good deal, perfect service I've bought all my vehicles at Sunset and all but one of my wife's. That one vehicle we bought at Titus Will Toyota and have not been happy at all wi I've bought all my vehicles at Sunset and all but one of my wife's. Once I chose my vehicle they were quite accommodating to my time constraints and even loaned me a similar vehicle until mine was shipped. They let me ditch the rental with them that day, and took care of everything else! I didn't know this level of customer service existed anymore. I am beyond pleased with my new vehicle and delighted by the whole experience of purchasing it. I will definitely be referring Dan Rector and Steve Bishop from Sunset Chevrolet to everyone I know from now on. More
