Guyer family has lost ALL of our business at ALL of their dealerships and we've bought a dozen vehicles from them over the years. We wanted a new AWD XT5. They didn't have any so we found some online. They said AWD were so hard to get no dealer would give them up. So we gave them a deposit to order us one. We were told it would take 12-14 weeks. They pressed really hard for us to buy a 2WD off their lot but they finally agreed to order it. 12 weeks later I contacted the salesman and he said the car had not come in yet. (Shouldn't he have reached out to me at some point). Called 2 weeks later. No car. No reason. I had to call the Cadillac factory where they are built to find out what was going on. I got the number from friend of friend. Turns out, our order was in the "cue" but they had no idea when it would be built. We asked for our deposit back (which was like pulling teeth) and drove 1 1/2 hours away to buy one from another dealer. When I told their sales manager what we had gone through he said they would have given up the AWD if another dealer had contacted them. AWD XT5's can't really tow anything and we don't get snow here. He said occasionally someone comes along and wants one but they usually sit for a while. Finally got out deposit back after SEVERAL phone calls. Now our 1 year old XT5 has a transmission issue. It won't go forward but it will go backwards. OnStar had it towed to Sunset because it was the closest dealership. This was on Friday evening. Contacted the dealership first thing Saturday morning and was told they didn't have any loaner cars. We drove to the dealership later that day 15 minutes before they closed. We counted 8 loaner cars. When we went into the service area there were NO customers there. After introducing myself the first thing the service advisor said was they had pulled our car into the service area that morning but they weren't going to be able to fix it. xx. I "marked" the wheels (yes I'm that way) when we left it there the night before and it hadn't moved. The (lack of) service advisor then quickly changed his LIE. Then I inquired as to a loaner car for my wife (it's her car). He said they didn't have any and reminded me that he told me that on the phone. I mentioned that we had walked around back before we came in and saw 8 of them. He changed his LIE again and said the person that handles loaners wasn't working that day. I asked if he could call someone and he got abrupt with me and said he wouldn't bother them on their day off. I pointed out that Sunset has THREE Cadillac dealerships in this area and surely someone was available at one of the other two. He refused to check. He said he would check on Monday and see if any loaners were available. I then asked him if he could at least give them a quick call on their cell phone to get authorization. He became agitated. I then asked how long he had worked there and he said 23 years. I told him he sucked at his job and he was better suited for either the janitorial or food service industries and we left. My wife called Sunset Monday morning inquiring about a loaner car and was told that since we didn't purchase the car there they wouldn't give us a loaner car. Even though we purchased our previous Cadillac from them AND had it serviced there the entire time we owned it AND even though we TRIED to buy our XT5 there and gave them a down payment AND waited over 3 months for the car AND had to wait another month to get our down payment back they would NOT give us a loaner car. Cadillac must be so PROUD to have Sunset represent them in the fastest growing market in Florida. I now have an incredible story to tell people about Sunset Cadillac (and the people that we dealt with and lied to us). And I will tell them because I know LOTS of people. Good luck because you're going to need it. More

Sales and service is great. They impose a 1% fee if you pay your service with a credit card. The profit from sales and service should be enough. I have never in all years of leasing high-end vehicles had this much trouble & frustration getting my car in for service & loaner car for me. When you need service for air conditioning not working or any had this much trouble & frustration getting my car in for service & loaner car for me. When you need service for air conditioning not working or any service you can never get an appt. Always told sorry no appt.'s until next week or no loaner cars until 3 weeks. No A/C I would think would take precedent .. considering driving in 90 degree weather in Florida with no A/C is torture. I had to take my truck to Venice last time and now my A/C is not working again and I was told no appt's for 2 weeks and no loaner until June 25th.. Very disappointing to be told we can't see you and a sorry. I will never buy another Cadillac again thanks to this experience happening over and over with appointments. More
When I called on the phone, I asked for the most knowable sales person available. They connected me with John Olten and I was happy to work with him. He knew the history of the vehicle that I was calling a sales person available. They connected me with John Olten and I was happy to work with him. He knew the history of the vehicle that I was calling about. He apologized that it was not completely detailed yet because they just took it in. John was a professionals professional, be very informed and did what he said he was going to do. I can see why Sunset kept him for 16 years. He didn't push extended warranty, lost key add on, tire warranty or the like. The transaction was completed in record time. I am very happy with the purchase. I'll look at their inventory first when I buy my next Cadillac More

The thing is, I bought the car from NJ. Marshal walked me through the whole process, facetiming me with video of the car and giving me his professional opinion (which I trust very much) after he test drove it for me. Marshal put his reputation on the line, as we were flying to Sarasota one way to buy the car and drive it home. I can say that it was one of the best car buying experiences of my life- we established the (very good) price, handled all the paperwork we could online, and the car was ready for us when we arrived. We test drove it, and then we closed the deal and were out the door in 45 minutes. And it has been almost 8 months since we purchased the car and there has not been a single problem. So if you are i the market for a car and need a dealer to handle all the heavy lifting- this is the one 5 stars for Sunset, Marshall, and the rest of the staff. More

I'm from Panama City Beach so roughly 7 hours from the dealership and hesitant to purchase from so far away. Doug made this process easy and care free. He was fast and responsive with every detail of my purchase. I couldnt have asked for a better salesman. I have purchased several cars over the years and Doug made this purchase a real pleasure. Samantha in Finance was also a pleasure to work with. The dealership was beautiful and everyone was extremely friendly. Thank you Doug, Samantha and Sunset Cadillac for making this a wonderful time. I recommend anyone looking for a vehicle to contact Doug Hillman. He has been in the business for awhile and knows what he is doing. Great guy! More
Odd Experience I'm giving this dealership the three stars (see update below for explanation of the two stars) because I was treated with respect when physically in t I'm giving this dealership the three stars (see update below for explanation of the two stars) because I was treated with respect when physically in the building and I think I was given a good offer for a lease deal (after the typical annoying and time-consuming back and forth game that seems frustratingly standard in the car industry). However, here's a real life example of how NOT to sell effectively: On Saturday, I went to Sunset Cadillac. After much back and forth, via a phone call after I left, the salesman (AJ) and General Manager (Steve) gave me a good deal, but I gave no commitment, no deposit, and signed nothing. I never once asked them to keep/hold a car for me. While there, I explained that it's the last week of our fiscal year at work, so it would be an incredibly busy week. AJ texted me twice on Monday and once on Tuesday, so I reiterated on Tuesday that it's an extremely busy time for me at work. He sent 3 text messages after that. On Wednesday, I updated him that, not only was work still really busy, but that I fell and ended up in Urgent Care with a sprain of my driving foot, contusions on my foot and knee, and a messed up neck and back. He immediately sent me 3 more text messages. On Thursday (the next day), I got an inappropriately toned and communicated text (see photo on my Yelp account). I'm a professional woman; I innately understand that it's their month-end and that they'll only keep the deal for a certain amount of time, but this is not a way to sell. There's the complete disregard for my work schedule, not to mention the lack of compassion for someone who had a bad enough fall to end up in Urgent Care. When I was in sales roles (for the New York Jets, in real estate, as a waitress, and even partially in my current role as a Corporate Attorney with client contact), these are not the tactics I used. UPDATE: I just saw that Sunset Cadillac is advertising the car I was looking at starting at $100 less per month than I was being quoted. I added some stuff to the base model, but not enough to merit $100 increase, so forget the good deal piece of my review (and I had to sit there for hours and “fight” for that quote $100 over the advertised price). And, I was supposedly getting a deal because my company has a relationship with them. No, thanks on their “deal.” I’m not as stupid as Steve and AJ apparently think I am. What a shame. I thought they were being honest and upfront with me (as much as most car salespeople ever are anyway). More
