Dishonest charlatan people These guys ruined my day. They were calling me for a week to go and sign a lease with them. I finally went. I already told them my credit situation These guys ruined my day. They were calling me for a week to go and sign a lease with them. I finally went. I already told them my credit situation and they told it is fine. After I signed a contract and had the car, they called me that my lease is not accepted because of my credit situation (which was not poor but average!) They just made more dent in my credit score! Hides and dismisses dangerous problems in used cars In short, a seemingly clean used Volkswagen was nearly sold to me without any disclosure of the major problems with the vehicle and its history. Sam K In short, a seemingly clean used Volkswagen was nearly sold to me without any disclosure of the major problems with the vehicle and its history. Sam K was very kind and attentive to me, but the time and money that I wasted here due to the dealership's dishonesty was deplorable. I was looking at a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit S that they posted on Autotrader and various other online used car search engines. It had a detailed clean Carfax with no reported problems or accidents across its entire 1-owner history. The car looked very clean and well-maintained in the pictures and in person. The dealer also provided me with a record of the 120k mile maintenance that their service department had just performed. I felt pretty confident about the car with this information, but I still wanted to take the car to an independent mechanic to be sure. An inspection by an ASE-certified mechanic revealed numerous serious problems with the car. The immediate problems included: major rear cylinder head oil leak, corroded battery terminals, dirty air filter, discolored brake fluids, excessive drive belt pulley movement, excessive harmonic balancer vibration, cheap tires, and a dead turn marker bulb. Repairs for these problems were quoted at about $3,000. However, the mechanic told me to "stay away from this car" for an even more serious issue: the onboard computer revealed a history of startling fault codes. At some point, the doors, airbags, and steering column had been REMOVED from the car. Furthermore, the data bus had a "leaking" code (i.e. the internal wiring had been altered and scrambled). The mechanic attributed the likely cause to an unreported major accident that had damaged the wiring and internal components which required the removal of the doors, airbags, and steering column for repairs. This car was not in a suitable condition for driving without immediate costly repairs. Either the dealer's service department had completely missed all of these major issues or the sales department actively tries to sell used cars regardless of existing issues and without informing potential clients. Both inspire little confidence, but the latter is more likely because the salesmen were unsurprised and dismissive when I showed them the report. Plus, they did not want their own copy because they were not going to fix the problems! The car is worth less than half of what they are selling it for - they would not even lower the price after I learned about the $3,000 repairs needed. Their lack of disclosure and regard for the dangerous problems with this vehicle suggest a culture of dishonesty and borderline unethical behavior when it comes to used vehicles. Even the mechanics, including a former used car salesman, were surprised to discover the behavior of Sunnyvale Volkswagen. I would advise against ever considering purchasing a used vehicle at this dealership regardless of how cosmetically good the car may look, how clean the Carfax may be, the work of the service department here, and the car's price. Will Not Negotiate Found a used car here online and decided to give this stealership a visit. Scheduled an appoint to see the car with David the following day. Standard Found a used car here online and decided to give this stealership a visit. Scheduled an appoint to see the car with David the following day. Standard procedure nowadays to view a car. Inspected and test drove the car and everything was normal. Did not discuss anything in regards to price except if I was going to trade in my vehicle which I replied no. Once the test drive was done I advised David that I will contact him after I view another car down the street since I was in the market for a car I needed to shop around. At that point David advised me that this stealership DOES NOT NEGOTIATE AT ALL on their cars. At which point I asked him to repeat again and he stated the same line which I followed by stating you have made my decision easy and I left. Stay away from this dealer if you're in the market for new/used car. They will absolutely NOT NEGOTIATE! More
Horrible customer service Horrible customer service. They lie about how long it will take to service your car. The worst part about this service is that if they offer to "drop Horrible customer service. They lie about how long it will take to service your car. The worst part about this service is that if they offer to "drop you off or pick you up" with their shuttle service plan to have them just drop you off and not pick you up at all. I called multiple times AFTER they called me to tell me my car was ready to see if they could pick me up. For 90 minutes they told me 5 times that the driver would be there to pick me up in 10 minutes. Two times they even said "oh no we forgot." Horrible customer service and just because of the attitude and treatment I would recommend not going here. There are so many other VW dealerships who will treat their customers right and actually deserve the service. This VW does not and they do not deserve the business. More
Very Bad Experience Through out my 10 years of car service experience, this is the worst dealer I have ever experienced. I have 2 years of history with this dealer. Gave Through out my 10 years of car service experience, this is the worst dealer I have ever experienced. I have 2 years of history with this dealer. Gave my car for service 4 times, and 2 times I had sad experience in their service and charges. But 3rd time they ripped me off with lies. Especially the manager Craig, he is a vulture ready to rip you off with unnecessary recommendations and forcing you to do it. I gave my car in working condition, my stereo, and battery both are in good conditions. They tested battery when I gave in car for service. They claimed it was working. It was new battery. They parked car in garage for 2 weeks and they called in 3rd week and informed battery is not working, need to replace. This is rip off. Similarly my stereo system was working, because I played in the morning when I was driving to them. In 3rd week they claimed it is not working. They charged me my replacing these and explained as if it was my problem. I do not think I am only the victim for their lies. They control their reviews, by only requesting customers who has pleased with their service. The reason I am writing this review is, do not become victim, pay attention when you go this dealer. Also, think twice and there are better dealers than these guys. Do your due diligence. More

CAR REPAIR SERVICE....SERVICES PROVIDED BY SUNNYVALE VOLKSWAGEN We have had our 2008 VW 2.5 Rabbit for nine months. We purchased it used from a GM dealership in Sunnyvale. Right after we got our "new VOLKSWAGEN We have had our 2008 VW 2.5 Rabbit for nine months. We purchased it used from a GM dealership in Sunnyvale. Right after we got our "new" VW, we took it to Sunnyvale VW for an oil change and a complete check-out. We were impressed from the very outset with the courtesy and thorough attention provided by the staff at Sunnyvale VW. Right away, they checked to determine if our car had any "recalls" pending for it. None were found. Next, we got the oil change and a timely, complete assessment of the condition of our "new" VW. We were surprised at how careful and complete the staff and mechanics were in checking over the car. Hearing their report in plain language was extremely important to us. We greatly appreciated this. Some months later we found the passenger-side headlight was out. We took the car into Sunnyvale VW for repair. We had made an appointment for the repair. Upon arriving at Sunnyvale VW, it was like getting royal treatment, the appointment was confirmed, the car was taken into the repair garage right away, and the car was ready to go in record time (maybe 35 minutes later!). Just recently, I was back at Sunnyvale VW to have the headlight on the driver's side replaced. Again, we had made an appointment. I arrived at 7:50 am, was checked in by Craig. As usual, he was a friendly, concerned VW representative. After confirmation of my appointment, I mentioned my wife had an important medical test that morning. Craig said he'd get me on the road ASAP! No kidding, before I could finish the courtesy donut and coffee provided in the waiting room, I heard Craig calling to me that my car was ready! That was amazing! Craig said that he wanted to be sure my wife was on time for her medical appointment! THAT'S WHAT I CALL SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do we love Sunnyvale Volkswagen? You bet we do! Basically, I came here not to listen to a professor talking to me! Unfortunately, he did talk to me like I was his student... I was just asking some simple questions about the upgrade on my car and he talking to me! Unfortunately, he did talk to me like I was his student... I was just asking some simple questions about the upgrade on my car and he could just tell me yes or no. Instead, he was forcing me to tell him why I wanted to upgrade the car but honestly, that's really none of his business!! I don't recommend coming to this dealer even though I bought my car from them! If u really come, do not consult any car question with Dennis cause he will just simply piss u off with his bad attitude!! Other dealers at this dealership are good tho ! It's just him ruining the reputation of Sunnyvale Volkswagen! More
