Honesty, integrity, compassion, Dan Schrier treated us more like family than two people he just met. We left with a newer vehicle, less miles, and excellent condition. According to there tech # 701 and there Service consultant, the parking brake parts were installed incorrectly by Summit Toyota and would cost me $852.00 to have them fix what Summit Toyota did wrong. I would think that Toyota would not allow this kind of practice to happen or is Toyota Corporation in on it to have double sales on one repair. More
Treated poorly after buying two brand new Toyota's This will sound like sour grapes, so take it with a grain of salt. Over the past two years we purchased two brand new Toyota's from Summit, a 2018 Hi This will sound like sour grapes, so take it with a grain of salt. Over the past two years we purchased two brand new Toyota's from Summit, a 2018 Highlander Platinum and 2019 Highlander Limited. Both experiences with the same salesman were great so we returned to him buy a Certified RAV4. Initial visit was great, we test drove one to confirm it was what we wanted. We left to consider which trim and features we wanted, and also to decide what color we wanted. A week later I contacted the salesperson to indicate we wished to make an offer on a 2017 CPO that they had. I told him that we wished to buy from him and Summit, and made our offer. A few hours later he called to explain that he couldn't deviate off the posted price. I explained that both NADA and KBB the indicated it was higher than I should expect to pay for a CPO and provided examples of the same CPO make, model, trim with similar mileage (+/- 10k) at other dealers less. He stated that the price was the price, but offered us $100 less as we were such "good customers". Turns out the internet price came down the same $100 that day, so not sure just how "valued" we really are? That said I don't blame the salesperson as he was very professional throughout the process. I suspect he was given marching order from above and was simply carrying them out. I generally do what my boss directs me too do as well. We proceed to drive to Metro Toyota on Cleveland where we had a very pleasant experience. Although perfect strangers to Aaron, we were handed the keys to the vehicle we had selected and told to take it for a drive (no salesperson rode with us unlike at Summit). We returned satisfied that this was the correct vehicle, struck a satisfactory deal and bought the RAV4. (2017 CPO RAV4 Limited). Service at Summit has always been great, but don't believe I will be looking to them for the Tundra I plan to buy next year. Not sure what changed, but as far as I can tell there is no longer any negotiating at Summit? That would be okay if the prices were inline with the market, but from my experience they are not. Bottom line is that as always it pays to shop around. I wanted to be loyal but was given no incentive to do so. ***I might add that these visits were at the height of the Covid-19 situation and I would think that based on how few people were in the showrooms there might have been a greater incentive to secure the sale for the ones that were there?)*** More
