Jaxon, First I would like to express our sympathy to your situation. It is unfortunate situation to have engine issues and we understand it is a financial stress. We have reviewed your complaint and considered our involvement to your situation very seriously. However the oil change in question was performed on December 5th, 2015 according to our documented records. It was not until June that the car had an issue which was 6 months after said oil change took place and you did not contact us until August 8th about the issue 2 months after the problem happened and 8 months since the oil change we performed on your car. While we are not disputing that we changed the oil on your car in December of 2015 we cannot take responsibility for a problem that occurred 6 months after the oil change. Not only can we not verify that our oil change was the last one done to your car, there is no way to correlate our oil change to the cause of your engine issue. Furthermore to have a company say that the engine issue was due to an oil filter falling off is unrealistic. If this were the case there would have been several indications that you had a loose oil filter which would have included but not limited to (Puddles of oil in your driveway immediately. If an oil filter was loose enough to fall off there would have been a significant oil leak right away that you would have noticed.), (A check engine light or low oil light would have came on due to the lack of oil and pressure), (This issue would have happened much earlier immediately after the oil change). None of these are mentioned in your review nor the hand written letter you sent us on August 8th. You also never contacted us prior to the issue about an oil leak or check engine lights. Due to the amount of time between your issue and the oil change we performed, along with lack of evidence to prove our oil change is what caused your issue, we unfortunately cannot help with compensation for your issue on your Camry. While we value your business and respect your right to your opinion, we cannot hand out compensation on something we did to your car over 6 months before the actual problem occurred with your vehicle. We hope you understand our position on the matter. Thank you, Summit Automotive
