He was great in terms of providing answers to my initial questions. We scheduled a test drive at the dealership, and he was thorough regarding the Jeep I was interested in, as well as with the details of the financing options. Not Satisfied While it has been a couple months now since I have made my purchase from Summit Automotive, I have finally gathered all of my thoughts to rate this ex While it has been a couple months now since I have made my purchase from Summit Automotive, I have finally gathered all of my thoughts to rate this experience. Now this dealership is not close to me and where I live, they are 1,000+ miles away, halfway across the country. I had been looking for a specific vehicle and they had it. I had reached out to them regarding the vehicle, and Harrison, was extremely helpful with information, pictures, videos, anything I asked for regarding this vehicle. He repeated over and over when we spoke that this truck was turn-key, ready to go. I had decided to purchase the truck, and talked numbers with Harrison. I let him know that it wasn’t like I was coming from a couple hours away; I would be flying to Wisconsin and driving the truck home, and to see what the lowest amount they would take for the truck. He let me know that if I could get the full amount of funds to them by the end of May, so that they could make their end of the month goals, they would be able to take $250 off the price. This $250 was not even close to covering what I paid in airfare or fuel or tolls to drive the truck home, but that is beside the point. But because I did not jump exactly when they wanted the funds sent to them, I received a phone call from someone in their finance department who was extremely rude and pushy towards purchasing a warranty from them in addition. So now, I feel like I’m pressured into buying the truck. Harrison had arranged for a driver (Jim) to pick myself and my sister up from the Milwaukee airport and bring us back to the dealership. Jim was at the airport before we even landed, and was very courteous and made the drive to the dealership enjoyable. Upon arriving, I met with Harrison and he let me know he had a customer he was currently working with but that I could test drive the truck. I looked over the truck as I should, and took it for a test drive. Within the measly 10 minutes of this test drive, the check engine light comes on, and the whole truck is shaking. I bring the truck back to the dealer, let my salesman know what happened, and no one really seemed to care. Strike 1. I ask to have the truck put on a lift and looked over for the shaking, and for the check engine light to be read. The head mechanic (Andy I believe, who was wonderful and extremely helpful), looked over the vehicle with me and read the check engine light. He stated it was a sensor in the emissions system, and that he would see if they had a sensor at the dealer, or where they could locate one. In the meantime, I sit with my salesman and let him know about the sensor/check engine light issue, the response I received was “it’s only a sensor, it’s not a big deal” and just brushed off. If I was driving the truck an hour home and could bring it back to be serviced, sure no big deal….I was driving halfway across the country home so it was a pretty big deal. So while I’m sitting waiting, I decide to do my own research on the truck. Come to find out, this truck has had an open recall for ‘#T05 SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION CATALYST” open since 3/30/2017. This dealership received the truck in on trade 4/13/2017, and I picked up the truck 6/15/2017. I show Harrison this recall and the status is “Remedy not yet available”, and he decided to snap back at me telling me that there hasn’t been a remedy found for it yet. But at the same time, the sensor had been located 45 minutes away and it was going to be picked up and installed (update: I have now had to bring the truck to dealer for service to actually fix the open recall that was not done and should have been done by Summit). Strike 2. I just was shocked that a vehicle could be sitting at a dealership for that long and the Carfax and recalls were not looked over? And then I’m spoken to like I’m stupid about the recall. Certainly sounds like a turn-key ready to go vehicle for me. I did a little research on my own to learn that a Consumer Affairs report shows that the number of cars for sale online with unfixed recalls increased an average of more than 25% in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan…isn’t that something? Anyways, 4 hours of sitting at the dealership later, the sensor was installed and my tires rebalanced to fix the shaking I was feeling. How sad that the head mechanic was more helpful than the salesman I had been working with for almost a month? The entire time I had brought this recall up, or any other concerns I had, I kept being directed to read their reviews, read our reviews they’re all great. Why should I care about a piece of paper in a binder, when you’re treating me insincerely face to face? After finally arriving home 20+ hours later, I heard nothing from the dealer. No follow up call, text, email, how I like the truck, absolutely nothing. I had contacted Harrison recently because a part already needed to be replaced to see if they were able to do anything for it, never heard anything back. It has been two months to the day (8/15/2017) since the purchase. As a result and being extremely skeptical of dealerships in general, never mind one half-way across the country, I will never believe that a car salesman or dealerships as a whole are genuine caring people, and this experience proved just that. The only positive thing out of this experience was the tacos they had at the food truck on their truck lot. While looking through my emails, I had an email from LeRoy Neu, the Service Manager, asking if there was anything they needed to do to ensure I was completely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend them. 1) I was certainly not satisfied, per my novel written above and 2) Although I don’t live in Wisconsin, even if I did I most likely would still not recommend this dealer. I emailed the Service Manager back, and yet still have heard nothing. It seems that the communication and customer service is only warranted until you leave with your vehicle. More

Wonderful experience! I never enjoy buying a car, but Summit made me comfortable, informed and with no pressure!
