Brought my car in for a variety of repairs and maintenance including replacing the front brakes and drums as well as replacing front strut mount bearings. With my reservation, they provided a loan maintenance including replacing the front brakes and drums as well as replacing front strut mount bearings. With my reservation, they provided a loaner which worked out well. Repairs were completed in a fairly quick manner. I returned the loaner, paid, and was sent on my way. Upon arriving home I decided to take a closer look at the work done. I noticed that one of the three strut mount bolts that help hold the front suspension to the car was sheared off. It’s a safety concern and I’m disappointed that they would return a paid for repair to a customer in this condition. This also makes me question if the fluid changes I requested were actually completed. I returned to the dealership first thing the next day to point out the problem. They did not seem overly concerned or apologetic. They did set me up with a loaner from their “B” fleet and it took them another two days to complete the repair. TLDR - Inspect your car closely after having a repair done at Suburban Volvo or find somewhere else to service your car. More
I will never do business with or refer this dealership to anyone. I have done business with Volvo dealerships in multiple cities and now three different states. On January 31, 2024, approximately 11:50 AM, I arrived at Suburban Volvo to pick up my car that had been towed to the dealership due to the back brake locking. I approached the door to service department, two male attendants were present; They watched me approaching the door and one of the attendants push the button for the door to go down. I went under the moving door prior to its going completely down. From my perspective, the act was intentional, deliberate and clearly a racial gesture. I gave no power to the disrespectful gesture and greeted the two young men with the respect they should have shown me. I went into the service department, greeted and introduced myself to the two seated gentleman, Chris let me know that he was the person whom I had previously spoken with. Chris and I walked outside to my car where he cleaned it off from the snowfall of the previous day. Suburban Volvo is the fist dealership in three different states that ever attempted to charge me prior to looking at my vehicle. I refuse to pay to have my car looked at. Chris's explanation on the phone, for this upfront payment ,"people don't pick up their cars after diagnosis is done." In my mind, it was apparent what people he was referring to. I am an African American female , holding a Law School degree, MBA degree and BA degree. My point, even if I were not a highly educated professional , I know basic respect for others and acceptable customer service that is all inclusive. BTW, the reason for my interaction with Suburban was as a result of my back brake locking. Apparently the brake lock reset itself after being dragged onto the tow truck. The check parking brake red light was no longer on and the rear wheel rolled as normal. I was able to drive my car from the dealership without accepting a diagnosis. I have owned a Volvo for many years. I am confident of two things, one, my next car will be a Volvo and two, it will not be purchased from Suburban Volvo. More
For the past six years, I've been a loyal customer to this dealership, at one point owning up to three Volvo cars simultaneously. This was my go-to spot for all my maintenance and repair needs. Regret this dealership, at one point owning up to three Volvo cars simultaneously. This was my go-to spot for all my maintenance and repair needs. Regrettably, the decline in both customer service and technical expertise has reached a point that compels me to share my experience. The recent incident that broke my trust involved my XC90, which I brought in for maintenance on 9/26/2023 at 40,207 miles. The inspection cleared everything, specifically noting that the front and rear rotors, along with the brake pads, were in good condition. However, upon receiving my car, I noticed a grinding noise during braking. Despite leaving three voice messages for the service advisor, I received no callback. It was only after I escalated the matter that I secured an appointment for 10/24/2023. By then, my mileage was 40,609. To my astonishment, I was informed that both rear brake pads and rotors required replacement, while the front rotors needed resurfacing. Trusting their judgment and not having the initial paperwork on hand, I approved the repairs of $1,600. Upon reviewing the paperwork from both visits at home, glaring inconsistencies in the assessment of the brake pads and rotors became apparent. Suburban Volvo owes me a clear explanation for this drastic inconsistency concerning the brake pads and rotors. Given my experience, would you feel confident entrusting your vehicle to this dealership? More
I dropped my car off a week ago and haven't heard from them since before the weekend. It's now Thursday and I've left multiple voicemails but can't seem to get through to Chris. I even left a voicemail fo them since before the weekend. It's now Thursday and I've left multiple voicemails but can't seem to get through to Chris. I even left a voicemail for his service director, Dan Maniaci, but haven't heard back either. For now, I'm carless and Ubering around. More
This place completely wasted my time. Made a service appointment 3-weeks in advance and they were completely unprepared. I had a customer goodwill ref. number and provided it to their cal Made a service appointment 3-weeks in advance and they were completely unprepared. I had a customer goodwill ref. number and provided it to their call center and management team. I showed up and they were clueless. No parts ordered in advance or really any communication whatsoever with me or obviously within the dealership itself. Service department is clearly on a reaction based system and absolutely unorganized. I would definitely go elsewhere. New ownership and management at this place is showing it's colors. You are better off going to another Volvo dealership, do the work yourself or go to a Jiffy lube as they will 100% value your time better. More
