Where to begin? We have no loyalty to any Where to begin? We have no loyalty to any dealership. Our car choice was not, nor would be, influenced by our interaction with the sales rep. Where to begin? We have no loyalty to any dealership. Our car choice was not, nor would be, influenced by our interaction with the sales rep. We were lured by a promotion offered through our work benefits--$219 Monthly Lease for Dodge Charger R/T for 2 years. When discussing this with the rep, the fine print was magnified to..."must have pre-existing lease...etc..." Shame on us for not reading the 5pt Font closer. We continued. A test drive was all we needed. We walked through the lot after a long day's work. The rep took our driver's licenses. He joined us on the test drive and talked all the way through it. If we had questions, we would ask. Other dealerships take our info and give us the keys to test drive--alone. We didn't need an escort. We didn't need commentary. Perhaps this was company protocol? Annoying as it was, we continued on. Returning, the rep proceeded to explain other plan options to have the vehicle. Leather on a lease would be an extra out-of-pocket expense. Fair enough It became a negotiating point. It was factored into our final payment. By the way, we decided to buy two Dodge Charger R/Ts. We ordered the leather from the selection provided. It wasn't available and had to be shipped. Not unusual. We hoped for a quick turn-around. When it could not be done by Saturday, we set the expectation that everything should be ready for us the following Thursday. We expected to walk in Thursday morning, sign for and pick up not one, but both leased Dodge Charger R/Ts, one with leather, one without. We arrived at 9:15am and didn't leave until almost 12:15. We expected all paperwork to be ready and declared and confirmed as much 24 hours prior. It was not. In fact, after surveying our peers and the competition, signing and driving should have taken 45 minutes--max, if everything was in order. We were told the day before that it was. We didn't appreciate the paperwork not being ready, when we called ahead to confirm our arrival time, the receipt of insurance and the agreed upon lease amounts. We didn't appreciate the finance department coming out to try to upsell us on "extras" that would have added another $60-$95 onto our lease payment. Negotiations were done with confirmation of the final amounts from the rep. These should have been addressed prior to Thursday and they weren't. What a pitiful tactic. We didn't appreciate the disrespect of our time. We both took time off to take ownership of these cars. We both had obligations that were following this transaction. This process was ridiculous and aggravating. Offer us refreshments and there aren't any? Really? This would be of no consequence if we weren't kept waiting so long. In addition, the connection to have the license plate was apparantly not working. Technical difficulties? Really? And then to say you'll have it mailed to us, then call me and ask me to come in and have it put on? I could not afford another small task to turn into an hour-ordeal or delay tactic to try to sell me something else. Lastly, we were sent digital confirmation of our payment amount and payoff difference for our trade in and that the check would be ready when we came in on Thursday. Again, it wasn't. The finance department wanted to send it to us? Again, Really? All of our issues were explained and acknowledged by the rep. Why couldn't more assistance be offered to him to help remove these obstacles from having an efficient experience? The plates? The test drive? The upsell? The check? Put the new plates on? Put the temporaries in place? Have the paperwork done? We believe we were were diligent and forthcoming about our expectations. We do not begrduge the rep for his personality. He was kind and courteous and seemed very knowledgeable abou the vehicle. We could not recommend this dealership, unless all it had going for it was price. More
